(p. 443) cali ṭsali. [Tel.] n. Cold, coolness, a chill. శీతము, శీతబాధ. చలిజ్వరము cold and fever, i.e., ague. నాకు చలిపెట్టినది I felt cold. చలి. adj. Cold, cool. చలికూడు cold food, breakfast. చలియిసుక camphor. Vasu. ii. 36. చలిగురువు ṭsali-garuvu. n. Coolness చలువ, శైత్యము. A cake G. i. 114. చలివావు ṭsaliv āpu. (చలి+పావు.) v. n. To warm, to soothe or comfort బు౛్జగించు. చలివాలు ṭsali-vālu. (చలి+పాలు.) n. A sign ఆనవాలు. చలివెలుగు ṭsali-velugu. n. (p. 671) nuli nuli. [Tel.] n. A twist, a tangle. మెలి. A griping or gnawing pain in the stomach. పేగులలోనొప్పి. వానికి నులిపెట్టినది he had the gripes. నులిపురుగులు worms in the bowels. adj. Gentle, slight. Small, స్వల్పమైన, అల్పము. Thus నులికాలువ A small stream. A. ii. 72. vi. 17. నులివెచ్చగా slightly warm, lukewarm. నులినొప్పి a slight griping pain, నులివాళ్లు nuli-vāḷḷu. n. A slight withering. కొంచెము వాడిపోవుటలు. నులివాళ్లువాడు to wither slightly, కొంచెమువాడు. నులిగొను nuli-gonu. v. n. To be twisted, to be tangled. చిక్కుపడు. నులిపెట్టు nuli-peṭṭu. v. a. To twist. మెలిపెట్టు, చిక్కుపెట్టు. నులిగడ or నులితడ nuligaḍa. n. A medicinal plant, having a capsule consisting of fine fibres twisted in the form of a screw, Helicteres idora. Linn, ఆవర్తని. నులియు or నులివు nuliyu. v. n. To move about, to shake, to tremble. చలించు. ఇట్టట్టుతొలగు. To be reduced to powder, to be crushed or powdered, పొడియగు, నలియు, నలుగు. To ring, sound, tinkle. 'తే కామనులియంగ కంకణక్వణనమొలయ.' చంద్రహాసవిలాసము. i. 896. నులించు nulinṭsu. v. a. To crush, to cause to be powdered. నులియజేయు, నులుచు. నులుచు or నులుపు nuluṭsu. v. a. To tread out, corn with oxen, to thrash corn, నులియజేయు, నులుగు nulugu. v. n. To be crushed, ground, trodden. నలుగు.

(p. 766) puḍuku, puṇuku or పుణ్కు puḍuku. [Tel.] v. a. To pick up, to handle, to take with the five fingers. వ్రేళ్లతోతీసికొను. To pinch. To give a little, కొంచెముగా ఇచ్చు. To give, ఇచ్చు. నేలపుణుకు to grovel on the earth as in grief. ఆమె అన్నము పుణికిపుణికి పెట్టినది she gave good stintingly. n. A gift. ఈవి. Giving, ఇయ్యడము పుడుకుదొడుకు or పుడుకుపసి puḍuku-doḍuku. (పుడుకు+దొడుకు.) n. The cow that grants all that one wishes, కామధేనువు. పుడుకుగల్లు puḍuku-gallu. n. The stone that grants all that one wishes, చింతామణి. పుడుకుమ్రాను puḍuku-mrānu. n. The tree that grants all that one desires, కల్పవృక్షము. పుడకులు or పుణుకు puḍukulu. n. A kind of cake, భిక్ష్యవిశేషము. పుణికిరించు or పుడికిరించు puṇikirinṭsu. v. n. To give a little. కొంచెముగా ఇచ్చు. To fumble, to twitch or be convulsed, as the fingers picking the sheets, &c., పుణికిరింత or పుడికిరింత puṇikirinta. n. Fumbling; twitching. పుణికిళ్లు, పుడికిళ్లు or పుణుకులు puṇikiḷḷu. n. Poking, shoving. A romping game like Puss in the corner. 'మరియు బుడికిళ్లు మొదలుగామనసువచ్చినాటలన్నియు.' N. ix. 102.

(p. 922) bhikṣa or భిక్షము bhiksha. [Skt.] n. Alms, బిచ్చము. Hire, wages, కూలి. A boon, a great favour. దీన్నిభిక్షణముగా అడుగుతున్నాను I entreat this as a boon or particular favour. పతిభిక్ష entreaty for the restoration of a husband. BD. iv. 1347. వాడు పెట్టినది భిక్షగానున్నది his pleasure is law, he is all powerful. భవతీ భిక్షాందేహి give me an alms. భిక్షకుడు bhikshakuḍu. (corruption of భిక్షకుడు.) n. A beggar. భిక్షించు bhikshinṭsu. v. n. &a. To beg, take alms. 'సరసిజభవుజడల్ జన్నిదంబులుగ, బరగభీక్షించిన బ్రాహ్మణుండతడు.' BD. iv. 112.

(p. 1100) lāka lāka. [Tel.] n. A feather. పక్షియీక. A new shoot from a stalk of corn, &c. ౛ొన్నపైరులాకపెట్టినది the cholam has sent out fresh shoots. లాకకట్టు lāka-kaṭṭu. n. Pinioning the arms. పెడచేతులువిరిచికట్టు. లాకలు lākalu. n. plu. Small pieces of stick, used by weavers. సాలెవాడు పడుగునందుగుచ్చే పుల్లలు.' కారంపుపడుగులు కండెల కప్పెర గోలముల్ లాకలునీలకడవ, గంప, డొల్ల, కళాసంబు, కదురు, చెమికె.' H. ii. 12. లాకకట్ట lāka-kaṭṭu. n. The unfinished warp of a cloth with pieces of wood still stuck in it, లాకలతో చుట్టి యుంచిన పనిముగియని పడుగు.
