(p. 32) aṭṭu or అట్టుగా aṭṭu. [Tel.] adv. (A particle) So that, as, according to. అతడు వచ్చేటట్టు వ్రాయుము write a letter so that he may come. మీరు చెప్పినట్టుగా చేస్తిని I did as you bid me. ఆయన చెప్పినట్టు according to his order. వాడు ఇంకా అవతలకు పోవునట్టు అగుపడ్డాడు he seemed as though he would go further. నేను చెప్పినట్టు చేసినాడు he did as I said. వారు సాగిపోయినట్టుగా చెప్పెను he said that they had passed on. అట్టు గాక or అట్లాకాక aṭṭugāka. adv. Without being so. అట్టుల aṭṭula. adv. As soon as, soon after. వెంటనే. 'చెట్టు దిగి వచ్చినట్టుల.' H. ii. 47. Just as. ఆప్రకారము. అట్టే (for అట్లాగే) aṭṭē. [Tel.] adv. Thus. So. In the same manner, as it was. అట్టే ఉండనీ leave it as it is. నొప్పి అట్టే ఉన్నది the pain is in the same state. అట్టే పోయినాడు he went off straightway. అట్టే మాట్లాడుతూ ఉండినాడు he was talking straight on. ఆ గుర్రములట్టే ఉన్నవి the horses are as they were: they are untouched.

(p. 32) aṭṭu aṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A cake roasted or baked (on an iron plate.) పెనము మీద కాల్చినది. ఇందున గురించి ఊరంతా అట్టుడికినట్టు ఉడుకుచున్నది the whole town is in a stir about this. (Homer, Odyss. xx. 10.) The whole town rings with the news. అట్టుకట్టు aṭṭtukaṭṭu. v. n. To be formed, as a cake. అట్టువలె నేర్పడుట. అట్టు పుట్టానవాలు aṭṭupuṭṭānavālu. n. An exact description. యావత్తు వివరము. అట్లతద్దె aṭlatadde. [Tel.] n. Cake-day, a feast that falls on the new moon in the month of Aswija when women offer buns in payment of vows. Plural అట్లు.

(p. 49) anagu anagu. [Tel.] v. n. To unite with; to obey. అనగిపెనగియుండు anagi-penagi-yunḍu. v. n. To be familiar, easy, affable. కలియగలుపుగానుండు. 'అట్టిజగజంతకేగాని యనగిపెనగియుండుదువెనీవు మాబోంట్ల యొద్దజేరి.' N. ix. 393.

(p. 52) ani ani. [Tel.] (Past p|| of అను to say) Having said. This is translated by the word 'That' or 'so' or the infinitive mood is used, as వారు అక్కడ ఉండినారని అన్నాడు he told me that they were there. అవతల వెళ్లరాదని తిరిగీ వస్తిమి we did not think it right to go on and returned; we thought we must not go further; so we came back. నన్ను పొమ్మని చెప్పెను he told me to go. తన సొమ్మని యెంచి considering it his own. దాన్ని నాకని కొన్నాడు he bought it for me. కావలెనని అక్కడికి పోయినాడు he went there on purpose. పండ్లను పటపటమని కొరికినాడు he gnashed his teeth. ఘమ్మని fragrantly. తళుక్కని brilliantly. గడగడమని మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke rapidly. ఈగలు జుమ్మని ముసురు కొన్నవి the flies covered it buzzingly. నీవు ఈ శాలువ కప్పుకొంటే గుమ్మని ఉండును if you wear this shawl it feels warm: or, you will feel warm.

(p. 54) anugu or అనుంగు anugu. [Tel.] adj. Beloved, dear, desired. ప్రియమైన. 'అనుగు శిష్యుడైన.' A. iv. 233. 'అనుగుచెలికాడు.' ib. 542. అనుగు n. A friend. స్నేహితుడు, స్నేహితురాలు. అనుగుతనము anugu-tanamu. n. Friendship. స్నేహభావము, మిత్రత్వము. 'నన్ను గడురంజిలజేసె నితండు వచ్చి యిట్లనుగు తనంబుజూపెనె యటంచుతదుత్సుకతన్ బ్రవర్తిలెన్.' Raghava Pandav. iii. 110. అనుగుకత్తె a female companion. చెలికత్తె.

(p. 91) allibilli alli-billi. [Tel.] n. Twisting, twining. పెనకువ. 'మావుల్ క్రోవులునల్లిబిల్లి గొను కాంతారంబునన్.' Swa. ii. 25.

(p. 99) aśvagandha aṣva-gandha. [Skt.] n. A certain medical plant (Physalis flexuosa) పెన్నేరు చెట్టు.

(p. 136) idi idi. [Tel.] pron. She, it, this. The 6th case is దీని and the acc. దీనిని as దీని నెరిగింపు declare this. The abl. is దీన or దీనిచేత 'hereby.' plu. ఇవి నాకు చాలా ఇదిగానున్నది I am very much out of sorts. ఆ నడత బహు యిదిగా నున్నది that conduct is not the thing, is so and so. ఇదిగో, or ఇదుగో idigō [ఇది+కొమ్ము lit take this] interj. Look! do you see! behold! here it is! ఇదుగో యిస్తాను అదుగో యిస్తున్నానని అంటాడు he puts me off with empty promises Lit. Here I will give it, there I will give it, says he. ఇదుగో వస్తానని చెప్పెను or ఇదుగో వచ్చెదననెను he promised to return presently. ఇదె Same as ఇదిగో.

(p. 197) ēḍaira ēḍtera. [Tel.] n. Fury, anger, perseverance. అతిశయము, సామర్థ్యము, శక్తి పరాక్రమము. adv. Much మిక్కిలి; at once, quickly శీఘ్రముగా 'అమ్మహీశుపెన్నురమునవాటె నారథకుడొక్క సముజ్జ్వల బాణమేడైరన్.' M. IX. i. 210.

(p. 217) ōḍu ōḍu. [Tel.] n. Defeat, loss, failure, a forfeit, a crack, chink, hole. ఆ పెనము ఓడుగానున్నది that saucepan is cracked. ఓడుబిళ్ల ōḍu-biḷḷa. Pan tiles, such as are used for roofs. T. iv. 202.

(p. 220) ōharisāhari ōhari-sāhari. [Tel.] adv. Pell mell, in a rout, backwards and forwards. వెనుకకు ముందరికి. అటమటముగా పెసగి. తండోపతండము. 'ఉభయబలంబులుంబురికొని యోహరిసాఃరిపెనగుచుండె' M. VII. iii. 148.

(p. 309) kēḍa kēḍa. [Tel.] adj. Harsh, cruel or wicked. ధూర్తుడు. కేడించు kēḍinṭsu. v. n. To part, to turn, to go aside. v. a. To shield off, turn, aside, or ward off. 'అంతకుపెనే నోయరిబలములు ద్రోణుండు గృపుడును ద్రోణసుతుండునుశల్యుండు గేడించిచనిరెయపుడు.' M. VI. i. 75. 'తలగక విరుగక సురుగక నలగక కేడింపక జోడింపక.' Zakk. iv. 104.

(p. 318) kottamuṭṭu or క్రొత్తముట్టు kotta-muṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A mere filament, not yet twisted into a thread. పెనచినరాట్ణపు నూలుపోగు, నూలిపోగు అతుకు. 'కళ్యాలబదిలంబుగాని గుర్రంబుల గ్రొత్త ముట్టునకియ్యకొలుపు వెరవు.' M. IV. v. 88.
