(p. 6) aṅguḍutuḍipi anguḍu-tuḍupi. [Tel.] n. A backbiter, incendiary. ఇక్కడిమాట అక్కడ అక్కడి మాట యిక్కడ చెప్పేవాడు, తంటాలమారి.

(p. 8) aṇṭupēru antu pēnu. [Tel.] n. A small louse.

(p. 1396) aṇṭlu anṭlu. [Tel.] n. plu. Small lice. అంటుపేలు.

(p. 13) antramu antramu. [Skt.] n. An entrail, a gut. పేగు. అంత్రవృద్ధి inguinal hernia, rupture. అంత్రమాలిక a garland of guts, a necklace of sausages.

(p. 16) ampelu ampelu. [Tel.] n. Rags, tatters, పేలికలు, చింపిగుడ్డలు, అంపెలు గట్టి చేత నొక యష్టిధరింపుచు. G. X. 72.

(p. 19) akiñcanamu a-kinchanamu. [Skt.] adj. Penniless, poor, indigent. దరిద్రుడైన అకించనుడు a-kinchanuḍu. n. A penniless wretch, a poor man. దరిద్రుడు, నిరుపేద.

(p. 21) akṣatalu akshatalu. [Skt.] vulgarly అక్షింతలు n.plu. (lit. unbroken grains.) Grains of raw rice, made yellow with saffron. The red mark worn by some Hindus on the forehead formed of saffron and slaked lime. పసుపురాచిన బియ్యము, పేలాలు. నొసటను పెట్టుకోవడమునకై పసుపు సున్నము కలిపిన బొట్టు.

(p. 27) acca aṭṭsa [Tel.] adj. Pure, real, unmixed. అచ్చ తెనుగు Telugu without foreign words. అచ్చగుండ్ల పేరు a necklace of pure beads.

(p. 29) accupaḍu aṭṭsu-paḍu. [Tel.] v. To be apparent, evident or plain, to be precise or exact. విశదమగు, స్పష్టమగు, సరిగా ఉండు. 'సొమ్మచ్చుపడంగజేయుటకు సైయలక్రాంచనగలంబు పేరికమ్మెచ్చిన నీడ్చు.' A. iv. 187.

(p. 50) anapēkṣa an-apēksha. [Skt.] Absence of desire. అనపేక్షణీయము not to be desired.

(p. 51) anāmadhēyuḍu a-nāmadhēyuḍu. [Skt.] n. A nameless fellow, an insignificant fellow, a mere cipher. A mere nobody, one of no repute, ఊరు పేరు లేనివాడు, అప్రసిద్ధుడు.

(p. 61) apakīrti apa-kīrti. [Skt.] n. Ill-fame. Infamy. an ill-name. చెడ్డపేరు, దుర్యశము, దూరు. వారికి అపకీర్తి వచ్చినది they were disgraced.

(p. 62) aparamu a-paramu. [Skt.] adj. Other, another, latter. అన్యము, ఉత్తరము. అపరక్రియలు n. Obsequies, funeral rites. దినవారాలు, కర్మాంతరము. అపరధాన్యములు or అపరాలు or అపరదినుసులు other kinds of grain, miscellaneous grains, all sorts of grain in pods, such as beans, &c. కాయధాన్యములు. One verse says. 'ఉత్తరే పూర్వసస్యాని అపరస్యానిరేవతౌ.' అపరనామము n. A second name. రెండో పేరు. అపర భాగము n. The hind part, వెనుకటి భాగము. అపరమంత్రములు n. Funeral prayers. అపరరాత్రి midnight, the latter half of the night. అపరలోకము another world. అపరవారధి the western ocean. వాడు పూర్వాపరములు చేయించగలడు he is qualified as priest to solemnize both the marriage and funeral rites. అపరాహ్నము or అపరాహ్ణము [Skt. అపర+అహ్నము.] n. The afternoon. రెండు ఝాములకు మీదికాలము.

(p. 64) apēkṣa apēksha. [Skt.] n. Expectation, hope, wish, desire. ఆశ. తదపేక్షయా than that, with reference to that. అపేక్ష యాగజము బలవత్తరము as regards the horse the elephant is strong, i.e., the elephant is stronger than the horse. అపేక్షించు apēkshinṭsu. v. a. To covet, long for, wish for. ఆసపడు, కోరు. అపేక్షణీయము or అపేక్ష్యము apēkshaṇīyamu [Skt.] adj. Desirable.

(p. 66) appuḍu appuḍu. [Tel. from ఆ+పొద్దు] adv. Then, at that time (This is also used as a defective noun.) Dative అప్పటికి at that time, అప్పట్లో (locative) at that time. అప్పటినుంచి since that time. అట్లా చెప్పేటప్పటికి when he said so. మరియొకప్పుడు at another time. In compounds it means 'When', as వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు when he came. ఒకప్పుడు వచ్చెను ఒకప్పుడు రాకపోయెను he sometimes came and sometimes stayed away. అప్పుడే (emphatic form) just then, already. అప్పుడే పుట్టిటనబిడ్డ a child just born. అప్పుడప్పుడు now and then. అప్పటిరాజులు the rulers of those days, the then princes.
