(p. 787) peṭṭe or పెట్టియ peṭṭe. [from Skt. పేటిక.] n. A box, a chest. A coil,as of a snake. పెట్టెపెట్టు peṭṭe-peṭṭu. v. n. To be coiled up as a snake. పెట్టేబండి peṭṭe-banḍi. n. A palanquin coach, a closed carriage.

The weevil or the blight caused when corn turns rusty. ఒకవిధమైన చీడ. లక్కపెట్టె lakka-peṭṭe. n. A lacquered box. చిత్రపేటిక. లక్కబియ్యము or లక్కపొడి lakka-biyyamu.n. Powdered lac, grain lac. పొడిలక్క. లక్కయిల్లు a house built with lac, seeming like mortar, intended by Duryodhana to be set on fire to procure the death of the Pāndavas. లక్కపగడాలు false coral. లక్కాకు lakk-āku. (లక్క+ఆకు.) n. A roll of palm leaf reddened with lac and worn in the ear instead of an earring. చెవ్వాకు. లక్కాకువన్నె a sort of pale red colour.

(p. 1358) sollukaṭṭulu sollu-kaṭṭulu. [Tel.] n. plu. Words or sounds used by the manager of a band of dancers. ఆటకొలిపించుటలో నట్టువుగాడు తధిక్కు, తకథైథై అని చెప్పేటివి.

(p. 1361) sōlkaṭlu sōl-kaṭlu. [Tel.] n. Words or sounds used by the manager of a band of dancers. ఆటకొలిపించడములో నట్టువుకాడు తధిక్కు, తకథైథై అని చెప్పేటిది. 'తంబురమీటి గీతంబుబాడుచునొక, మధురోష్ఠి సరిగమపధయనంగ, జగ్గునసోల్కట్ల నుగ్గడింపుచునొక్క చక్కెర బొక్క తధిక్కుమనగ.' Ila. ii. 17.

(p. 1375) svaramu svaramu. [Skt.] n. A voice, sound, noise, note, tone, tune. A vowel. An accent. Air breathed throough a nostril. కంఠధ్వని, రవము, ధ్వని, తానము; షడ్జాది సంగీతస్వరము, అచ్చు, ఉదాత్తాదివేదస్వరము, నాసాపవనము, ఒక ముక్కుగుండా విడువబడినగాలి. సప్త స్వరములు the seven notes of the gamut. స్వరభంగము a fluttering of the voice. అపస్వరము a false note. స్వరమండలము or స్వరమండలి a musical instrument composed of a number of reeds joined together and played on with the finger. 'స్వరమండలములు కిన్నెరలు.' H. v. 412. స్వరశాస్త్రము a certain mode of fortune-telling, wherein the breath is emitted from one or the other nostril, and this is taken as the basis of a certain calculation. ముక్కుగాలిని పట్టి ప్రశ్నచెప్పే శాస్త్రము. The breath that comes through the right nostril is called సూర్యనాడి and the breath that comes through the left nostril is called చంద్రనాడి. స్వరపేటిక svara-pēṭika. n. The larynx.
