(p. 289) kuṇḍalamu kunḍalamu. [Skt.] n. An earring. చెవిపోగు, కుండలి kunḍali. n. One who has earrings. పోగులు గలవాడు. A snake or serpent పాము. A mystic phrase for the spinal marrow. A circular dance. కుండలాకారనృత్యము. (భార. విరా. i.) కుండలిస్థానము or కుండలిని or కుండలిశక్తి the pineal gland. సుఘమ్న (Vasu. Pref. 71.) Heyne says, a name of the తెల్ల ఉప్పిడి చెట్టు. కుండలినాడి. కుండలించుkunḍal-inṭsu. v. t. To put or mark a cipher round anything సున్నచుట్టు. (చంద్రా. i.) కుండలీ కరణము kunḍali-karaṇamu. n. To cancel by drawing a circle round an erroneous line. Giving or making a cipher సున్నచుట్టుట.

(p. 455) caukaḷi or చవుకళి ṭsaukaḷi. n. A square place. చచ్చౌకపుటిల్లు. Earrings పోగులజోడు. Suca. i. 161. చౌకళించు or చవుకళించు ṭsaukaḷ-inṭsu. v. n. To dance about, skip, leap, bound, vault. నాలుగుకాళ్లు పైకెత్తి దాటు. చల్లకడవయు భుజముపై చౌకళింప with her milk pail dancing on her shoulder: చౌకళింత or చవుకళింత jumping on all fours, dancing చౌకళించుట.

The foreign or refined myrrh. పరంగీలాగికెంపు a ruby which is red like a European (the Europeans being usually described as a red, not as a white people by the Hindus.) 'వ దుష్టజనశిక్షణ శిష్టజనరక్షణంబులు నెరపుటకు విన్నపంబులకు డగ్గరు రౌడ్రకరుణారసంబులతెరంగున మొరుంగు పరంగీలాగి కెంపులపోగులు బెడంగుచూప.' చంద్ర.

(p. 728) pallēru pallēru. [Tel.] n. The thorny creeping plant called Pedalium murex. ఏనుగు పల్లేరు a large species, Ruellia longifolia. Rox. iii. 50, గోకంటకము, వనశృంగాటము. పల్లేరు పల్లిక small caltrops, a weed with a yellow flower. త్రికంటకము. పల్లే రుపువ్వు a nose jewel shaped like the caltrops blossom. పల్లేరుపోగులు earrings of the same shape. పల్లేరుకాయ a thorny seed of the పల్లేరు కాయ a thorny seed of the పల్లేరు plant; a certain jewel of the same shape.

(p. 970) māṭī māṭī. [Tel.] n. Dirty grain. మాటీపోగులు sweepings of grain.

(p. 1240) śaṅkhamu ṣankhamu. [Skt.] n. A conch shell, a conch used as a horn. The number called 100 billions. కంబవు, నూరుఖర్వములు. దక్షిణావర్తశంఖము a conch the windings of which turn to the right. శంఖచక్రములు the conch and the discus, as weapons of Vishnu. శంకచక్రాలపోగులు round earrings worn by Vaishnavites on which is the form of a conch and of a circle. శంఖమందుపోస్తేతీర్థము (a proverb) lit. any water poured in a conch becomes sacred water; that is, all one says is law! I am to take his word for gospel! జీతముముట్టలేదని శంఖధ్వనిచేయుచున్నాడు he is howling for his pay. శంఖనఖము ṣankha-nakhamu. n. A small or base shell. క్షుద్రశంఖము, నత్తగుల్ల. A perfume, ఒకవిధమైన పరిమళ ద్రవ్యము. శంఖపాణి ṣankha-pāṇi. n. Lit. the conch bearer, i.e., Vishnu. శంఖపాలకులు ṣankha-pālakulu. n. plu. A kind of snake. సర్పవిశేషములు.
