(p. 823) pauramu pauramu. [Skt. from పుర.] adj. Belonging to a city or town (పురము.) పౌరసతులు the ladies of the place: citizens' wives. పౌరలోకము paura-lōkamu. n. The townsfolk, a body of citizens. పౌరుడు pauruḍu. n. A citizen. పౌరులు citizens, townsfolk.

(p. 823) paurāṇamu paurāṇamu. [Skt.] adj. Relating to the Puranas. 'ఇట్లు విక్రమార్కుడీల్గిన విజయుడై శాలివాహనుండులీలతోడ. పౌరులెల్లబొగడబౌరాణమున మహారాజసంగజేసె రాజ్యమచట.' G. i. 33. పౌరాణికము paurāṇikamu. adj. Mythological; old, as a story. పౌరాణికుడు paurāṇikuḍu. n. One who knows the Puranas, పురాణము తెలిసినవాడు. A public reader of a Purana. A bard, ministrel.

(p. 1064) ratnamu ratnamu. [Skt.] n. A jewel, precious stone, gem. మణి. A masterpiece of fine thing, the best of its kind of species స్వజాతి శ్రేష్ఠము, నవరత్నములు the nine precious stones, viz., మౌక్తికము a pearl, పద్మరాగము an emerald, వజ్రము a diamond. ప్రవాళము a coral, మరకతము. an emerald నీలము a sapphire, గోమేధికము an agate. పుష్యరాగము a ruby, వైడూర్యము a cat's eye. అశ్వరత్నము a jewel of a horse, i.e., a noble stead. స్త్రీరత్నము an unrivalled woman. గగనరత్నము the sun, as the gem of heaven. అప్సరోరత్నములు the most lovely of nymphs. రత్నకంబళము ratna-kamba-lamu. n. A carpet. తివాసీ. రత్నగర్భ .ratna-garbha n. The earth; as producing gems. భూమి.
