(p. 5) aṅgamu angamu. [Skt.] n. The body, a limb, member, part, division or branch. అంగవంచకము = ఉపాయము, సహాయము, దేశకాలవిభజనము, ఆపదకు ప్రతిక్రియ, కార్యసిద్ధి. అద్భుతాంగులు beings having wondrous forms. అష్టాంగములు = the eight forms or stages of meditation, i. e, యమము, నియమము, ప్రాణాయామము, ప్రత్యాహారము, ధ్యానము, ధారణ, మననము, సమాధి. చతురంగములు the four divisions of an army, i. e., రథములు, ఏనుగులు, గుర్రములు, బంటులు. పంచాంగము the Indian calendar giving particulars of each day, as తిథి, వారము, నక్షత్రము, యోగము, కరణము. రాజ్యాంగములు the various departments of Government. షడంగములు or వేదాంగములు the six sciences dependent on the Vedas. i. e., శిక్ష, కల్పము, వ్యాకరణము, నిరుక్తము, జ్యోతిషము, ఛందస్సు. సప్తాంగములు = the seven constituents of a Government. స్వామి, అమాత్యుడు, సుహృత్తు, కోశము, రాష్ట్రము, దుర్గము, బలము. సాష్టాంగ ప్రణామము prostrate homage, touching the ground with eight members of the body, i. e., eyes or chest and forehead, hands, knees and feet.

(p. 11) antaramu antaramu. [Skt.] n. Interval, intermediate space. Period, term. Difference, disparity. Rank. వాని అంతరమేమి నీ అంతరమేమి consider his rank and yours. అంతరమునందు in the midst. కాలాంతరమందు at another time. గ్రంథాంతర మందు in another book. ప్రత్యంతరము another copy. పాఠాంతరము another reading. వనాంతరమునందు in the forest. స్థలాంతరమందు in another place; elsewhere. భాషాంతరము a translation into another language. అతని ముఖాంతరముగా through him. దేశాంతరముపోయినాడు he is gone to another country, he is in foreign part. మతాంతరము another opinion or religion. కర్మాంతరము the funeral ceremonies.

(p. 14) andu andu. (a defective pronoun.) There, in that place. అక్కడ. అందుకు or అందులక thereof, thereto, for that. అందులో therein. అందున or అందుచేత thereby, by that. అందునిమిత్తము therefore. అందుమీదట adj. thereafter. అటుతర్వాత, వాడు వచ్చి చేరినందుమీదట. after his arrival. అందులకు (an affix) thereto, for that. వ్రాయగలందులకు ad scribendum, to write. అందువల్ల (an affix) thereby. పోయినందువల్ల యేమి ప్రయోజనము what is the use of going? ఆయన రాగలందులకు for his coming. నేను వచ్చేటందుకు అయిదు దినములు పట్టును it will take five days for me to come. అట్లా ఉన్నందుకు for its being so. వాడు అట్లా చేసినందుచేత as he has done so. వాడు అట్లా చేసేటందుచేత by his doing so. అందులకు ఒక ప్రతి వ్రాసినాడు he wrote a copy of it. 'ఇందుగలడందు లేడని సందేహమువలదు' there is no doubt he is every where. ఇందు అందు both here and there; here and hereafter: in this life and the next. అంద in the same place దానియందే; అందలి = అక్కడ ఉండే.

(p. 18) akaṭavikaṭamu n. Opposition, contrariety, awkardness. విరుద్ధము, ప్రతికూలము. ఎందుకు అకటవికటము చేస్తున్నావు why do you give trouble?

(p. 18) akaṭavikaṭamu akaṭa-vikaṭamu. [Tel.] adj. Adverse, contrary, awkard, inverted, contrariwise. తారుమారైన, విరుద్ధమైన, ప్రతికూలమైన, అకటవికటమైన మాట an incoherent speech, a prevarication, అకటవికటపు మాటలాడుట to shuffle, prevaricate, అకటవికటమైన పని an awkward, confused or troublesome affair.

(p. 28) accu aṭṭsu. n. A stamp, a form for printing or for any other impression, a type, a printing press. An axle-tree. A mould. The handle of a handmill, A weaver's reed or stay. An image, or picture. ప్రతి రూపమును కల్పించేటిది, ఇరుసుమాను, తిరగటి పిడి, బట్ట వేసేటందుకు సాధనమైనది, ప్రతిబింబము. పోత అచ్చు the mould wherein clay or metal is cast. ఇటికె అచ్చు the box or mould used in making bricks. అచ్చక్షరములు printed letters. అచ్చువేయు to print. ఇంకా అచ్చువేయని unprinted, unpublished.అచ్చువేసేవాడు a printer. అక్షరాల అచ్చులు types of letters. బెల్లపు అచ్చు a square mould into which boiled treacle is poured, and thus formed into cakes. అచ్చుబెల్లము a lump of jaggery, అచ్చొత్తు to seal, impress with a mark, to print అచ్చుకూటము (a Madras word,) A printing press office ముద్రాశాల. అచ్చుబల్ల the frame on which a weaver's reed is fixed. అచ్చువేసినయెద్దు a 'brahminy' bull that is marked or stamped and is allowed to wander at large, as consecrated to the deity. అచ్చుకట్టు or అచ్చుకట్టువేయు v. a. To prepare land for wet cultivation by throwing up banks to divide it into plots, partitions or beds. మళ్లుగా ఏర్పరచు అచ్చుకట్టించినమడి or అచ్చుకట్టు పొలము a field which is divided into beds for wet cultivation. అచ్చులపోయు to find yarn on the frame for weaving (Cuddapa.) అచ్చుగా aṭṭsu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Precisely, exactly, clearly, evidently. 'పిచ్చుకపై బ్రహ్మాస్తము నచ్చుగ దొడిగినవితాన.' T. iv. 22.

(p. 39) atakariñcu atakarinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To excel, surpass, transgress. మించు, అతిశయించు, అతిక్రమించు. 'ఇందువదనల మందగమన స్వభావంభు నతకరించు కుతుకరయంబునకు ప్రతి కూలంబగుచు.' KP. vi. 246.

(p. 41) atīndriyamu atīndriyamu. [Skt.] adj. Imperceptible to the senses. అప్రత్యక్షమైన.

(p. 45) adharamu adharamu. [Skt.] n. Lip. పెదవి. The underlip. క్రింది పెదవి. అధురమధువు the honey of the lip. అధరము adj. Low, inferior, vile. దిగుడైన, నీచమైన. Lower. 'ప్రతతోర్థ్వాధరభాగపీఠయుగళీ భాస్వత్త్సంభ సంస్థితి.' Amuk. i. 6.

(p. 55) anudinamu anu-dinamu. [Skt.] adv. Daily. ప్రతిదినము, నానాడు.

(p. 56) anubandhamu anu-bandhamu. [Skt.] n. Connection, affinity, alliance. చుట్టరికము. అనుబంధక్రియ a defective or auxiliary verb. ప్రకృతి ప్రత్యయాదుల చేత చెడెడి అక్షరము. In Arith. the junction of fractions. Also appendix, 'that which is added' (to the main part of a book.) అనుబంధి or అనుబంధుడు n. One who acts in accordance with the wishes of the elders among his relations. A relation, దేహసంబంధము గలవాడు. అనుబంధించు anu-bandhinṭsu. v. n. To join, connect, unite. సంబంధించు.

(p. 56) anubimbiñcu anu-bimbinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To reflect or throw back an image. ప్రతిఫలించు.

(p. 61) apatyamu apatyamu. [Skt.] n. A child (male or female) offspring. సంతానము, బిడ్డ. అపత్యప్రత్యయము a patronymical affix. అపత్యార్థశబ్దము a patronymic.

(p. 63) apasavyamu apa-savyamu. [Skt.] adj. Contrary, opposite to, on the wrong side ప్రతికూలమైన, దక్షిణమైన, అనగా కుడిదైన, అపసవ్యలిపి letters written the wrong way as in a seal. అపసవ్యము n. Putting the braminical thread the wrong way: that is, on the right shoulder and letting it fall on the left side instead of lying on the left shoulder. జందెమును కుడిభుజము మీద నుంచి యెడమభుజమునకు కిందితట్టుగా వేసుకోవడము.
