Also a plant (Gloriosa superba) తరిగొర్రెచెట్టు, కుంకుమపువ్వు చెట్టు the Saf-flower plant. అగ్నిహోత్రము fire. అగ్నిహోత్రుడు the god of fire. అగ్నిహోత్రాలు కాల్చుచున్నాడు or చేయుచున్నాడు colloquial for 'he is smoking.'

(p. 141) illu or ఇలు illu. [Tel. The primitive. form is ఇల్ which means 'a house. ఆలయము (q. v.) borrowed by Skt. from Drav. means (1) house and (2) 'God's abode' or house cf. కోయిల or కోవెల. In the Chaldee word 'Babylon (= bab-ilu), the latter part 'ilu' means 'God' by a transition of ideas.] n. A house, a chamber, room. Home, place, caste, family. 'మన యింటి చేటు చూచితే.' నిర్వ. ix. ఇంటిగుట్టు a family secret. ఇంటికి దూరమైన ceremonially unclean, i.e., ఋతుమతి యైన In poems మరునిల్లు is the భగము. ఇల్లు నింపడము setting up a house, house-warming వధూవరుల నూతన గృహప్రవేశము.

(p. 384) gṛhamu gṛihamu. [Skt. cf. Prakrit గేహము & Eng. 'Home'] n. A house, abode, dwelling. ఇల్లు. గృహకలహములు domestic troubles or quarrels గృహకృత్యములు household affairs. గృహపతి gṛiha-pati. n. A householder, the head of a family. గృహప్రవేశము entering a new house. గృహమృగము a dog కుక్క. గృహస్థుడు, గృహస్థు, గృహమేధి or గృహి gṛihasthudu. n. A householder ఇలురేడు An honest man, a good citizen. A respectable man. గృహస్థాస్రయము householdership, the state of being a householder. గృహాయమాన habitable, used as a house. గృహారామక్షేత్రములు house, grove and field, i.e., one's entire property, one's all. గృహిణి gṛihiṇi. n. A mistress of a house, a wife. ఇల్లాలు. గృహోపకరణములు furniture, chattels, goods, utensils. గృహ్యము gṛihayamu. adj. Dependant, పరాధీనమైన. n. A tame or domesticated animal. పెంపుడు మృగము.

(p. 414) cittamu chittamu. [Skt.] n. The mind or intellect; the heart, considered as the seat of intellect: inclination, will, pleasure. మీచిత్తము (or simply చిత్తము) your pleasure! as you please! yes, sir! చిత్తానకు తేవలెను be so good as to consider this. ప్రవేశము చిత్తగించలవెను pray acknowledge the receipt of this letter. చిత్తానుసారముగా according to one's own pleasure or as one see fit. చిత్తగించు chitta-ginṭsu. v. a. To listen, grant attention keep or retain in mind, attend to, mind, note, observe, remark, examine, investigate. మనస్కరించు. To think, తలచు; to hear a prayer, to consider యోచించు. At the close of a letter the words చిత్తగించవలెను. 'Please to consider this' are equivalent to the phrase ('I remain, &c') అట్లు చిత్తగించినాడు he came to this decision (used of a superior.) చిత్తగించవలెను I beg you to or, do me the favor to. చిత్తచాంచల్యము chitta-chānchalyamu. n. Aberration of the intellect. Insanity. చిత్తచాంచల్యము chitta-vṛitti. n. Temper, wish, inclination, disposition. Will, pleasure, determination. చిత్రుడు and చిత్తురాలు chittuḍu. adj. Minded. This is used in compound phrases, thus: సంతోషచిత్తుడు a cheerful man. క్రూరచిత్తులై cruel-hearted. శాంతచిత్తుడు a gentle character.

(p. 453) coru ṭsoru. [Tel.] v. n. To enter. ప్రవేశించు, చొచ్చు. చొర The infinitive of చొరు. (q. v.) చొరపోతగా ṭsora-pōtagā. [Tel. చొరవ+పోత.] adj. Continuous. నిరంతరము, ఎడములేని. adv. In an unbroken line, all in one stream. ఒక వరుసగా. చొరబడు or చొరబారు ṭsora-baḍu. v. n. To enter or rush into, to break into, to intrude on. చొచ్చు. ఆ కథ యిందులో చొరబడదు that tale does not form a part of this. చొరవ ṭsorava. n. An entrance. ప్రవేశము. Daring సాహసము. Keen-mindedness బుద్ధి కుశలత. Use, familiarity, aptitude, introduction. Desire ఇచ్ఛ. చొరవగల easy of access. వ్యాకరణములో వానికి మంచిచొరవ కలదు he has an aptitude for grammar. వానికి అన్నపు చొరవేకాని అక్షరపుచొరవలేదు he is sharp enough at eating but slow at reading. చొరవకత్తె a forward woman. చొరవకాడు a forward man. మాట చొరనియ్యడు he will not let a word be heard: or, he will not listen. చొరకమానె he did not enter. చొరిగాడు ṭsorigāḍu. n. A hunter.

(p. 662) nivēśamu or నివేశనము nivēṣamu. [Skt.] n. A house. ఇల్లు. The site of a house, a spot of ground: a certain measure of land used in Madras, 60 feet by 40 feet. called 'one ground.' Entrance, ప్రవేశము.

(p. 839) pravṛtti pra-vṛitti. [Skt.] n. Pace, manner of walking, నడక. Entrance, ప్రవేశము. Means of livelihood, బ్రతుకుతెరువు. A story, నృత్తాంతము. Activity, occupation; conduct, నడవడి. Inclination, design, disposition. ఉద్దేశము, స్వభావము.

An entering upon or engaging in, entrance. చొచ్చుట; చొరవ. ఆ శాస్త్రములో వానికి ప్రవేశములేదు he has no acquaintance with that science. ఆ దొరవద్ద నాకు ప్రవేశములేదు I have no influence with that gentleman. గృహప్రవేశముచేసినారు they have gone to live in their new house. ప్రవేశముకనవలెను please to acknowledge the receipt. వర్షాకాల ప్రవేశమైనది the rainy season has now set in. ప్రవేశనము pra-vēṣanamu. n. Insertion, entering. ప్రవేశపెట్టడము. ప్రవేశపెట్టు pravēṣa-peṭṭu. v. a. To introduce, instal, induct, admit, enter, entertain or take into service. ప్రవేశించు pravēṣ-inṭsu. v. n. To enter; to enter on or upon, to interfere in. చొచ్చు.
