(p. 764) pu ccu puṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To take. తీయు. To send, to remove. పంపు, పోవజేయు v. n. To decay, mortify, rot. పుచ్చిపోవు puchchi-pōvu. v. n. To be rotten, decayed పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. adj. Rotten, decayed. 'గురువునకు పుచ్చుకూరైన నియ్యరరయవేశ్యకిత్తురర్థమెల్ల.' Vēma 69. పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. n. The Sediment of oil. ఆముదపుమడ్డి. Filth. 'పప్పులోనుప్పు మిక్కిలి పారజల్లి, నేతిలో నాముదపుపుచ్చు నిండనించి,' Jagannadha. i. 67. పుచ్చు is used idiomatically with some nouns to give them an active force. ఆ బిడ్డను నిద్రపుచ్చినది she put the child to sleep. నూరు రూపాయలతో ఆ యిల్లు కట్టడమును సరిపుచ్చినాడు he finished the building of the house with a hundred rupees. మోసపుచ్చు to deceive, cheat. చిన్నపుచ్చు to disgrace. ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు to pass or kill time, కాలక్షేపము చేయు. ఇంతప్రొద్దు పుచ్చినందుకు యేతువేమి what is the reason of your making so much delay? 'చాకివాడుకోక చీకాకుపడజేసి, మయలబుచ్చి మంచిమడుపుచేయు, బుద్ధిచెప్పువాడు గుద్దిననేమయా.' Vēma. 230. 'పరులమోసపుచ్చి ధరరూకలార్జించి, కడుపునించుకొనుటకానిపద్దు.' Vēma. 258.

(p. 851) proddu or పొద్దు proddu. [Tel.] n. The sun, సూర్యుడు. Time, కాలము. A day, దినము. Half a day, పూట. The dawn, వేకువ౛ాము. The morning, ఉషఃకాలము. ప్రొద్దువాలిన తర్వాత after the sun began to decline, in the afternoon. పెద్దయుంబ్రొద్దు a long time. ప్రొద్దిటిపూట the morning time. ప్రొద్దుటెండ the morning sunlight. ప్రొద్దులు proddulu. n. plu. The days hear the time of the confinement of a woman, ప్రసవదినములు. ప్రొద్దులనెల the month during which a confinement takes place, ప్రసూతిమాసము. ప్రొద్దుకల్లు or ప్రొద్దురాయి proddu-kallu. n. Lit: the sun-stone, i.e., a focussing lens, సూర్యకాంతశిల. ప్రొద్దుగొడుకు, ప్రొద్దుపట్టి or ప్రొద్దుచూలి proddu-goḍuku. n. The son of the sun; an epithet applied to Yama, Sani, karṇa or Sugriva, యముడు, శని, కర్ణుడు, సుగ్రీవుడు. ప్రొద్దుతిరుగుడు proddu-tiruguḍu. n. The sun-flower, సూర్యమవర్తిని. ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు proddu-puṭsṭsu. v. a. To pass the time, కాలక్షేపముచేయు. ప్రొద్దురిక్క proddu-rikka. n. A constellation called ఉత్తరఫల్లునీనక్షత్రము. ప్రొద్దురిక్క నెల proddu-rikka-nela. n. A name of the Telugu month called ఫాల్గుణమాసము.

(p. 1178) vinōdamu vinōdamu. [Skt.] n. Play, sport, pastime; an interesting pursuit, pleasure. స్త్రీ పురుషులు క్రీడాదులచేత కాలయాపనచేయడము, క్రీడ, వేడుక విలాసము. మృగయావినోదము pleasures of the chase. 'ఇమ్మెయి బ్రహ్మాండ ప్రళయంబులనేకములుచనియెనవియెల్లవినోదమ్ములు నారాయణునకు.' Vish. i. 54. వినోది vinōdi. n. One who is delighted or made happy, one who delights in. ఉల్లాసముగలవాడు. కలహవినోది one who loves quarrelling. 'కర్మాకర్మములొక్కటికర్మవినోదునకు తత్వఘనును దెలియున్.' Vēma. 529. విప్రవినోదులు sham priests, a certain caste of beggars who call themselves Brahmins. వినోదించు vinōdinṭsu. v. n. To revel, play, sport, rejoice, సంతోషించు, క్రీడించు, క్రీడాదులచేత ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు.
