(p. 44) adṛṣṭamu a-drishṭamu. [Skt.] n. Fortune, luck, chance, fate. భాగ్యము దురదృష్టము bad luck. అదృష్టవంతుడు or అదృష్టశాలి or అదృష్టపురుషుడు a fortunate man. అదృష్టహీనుడు an unfortunate man. అదృష్టఫలము the consequence of (one's) good luck.

(p. 54) anukūlamu anu-kūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Favourable, friendly, assisting, salubrious. హీతమైన, సహాయమైన, ఆరోగ్యమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన. అనుకూలమైన గాలి a favourable wind. వాని శరీరమునకు అనుకూలమైన స్థలము the place which agrees with him. అనుకూలమైనమాట a friendly word. అనుకూలశత్రువు a friendly enemy అనుకూల కాలము a suitable time. అనుకూలము or అనుకూలత n. Favour, goodness, kindness, aid. సహాయము, మేలు, దయ. దయ ద్రవ్యానుకూలము means, resource. దైవానుకూలము వల్ల by the grace of God. అనుకూలించు, అనుకూలపడు or అనుకూలమగు anukūlinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be of use ఒదవు. To have effect, to have a good result. సఫలమగు, ఒనగూడు. అనుకూలము కాలేదు it failed, it had not the desired effect. నాకు ఇంకా రూకలు అనుకూల పడలేదు I have not yet obtained the money ఈ పని నీకు అనుకూలమగును you will succeed in this business. అనుకూలము చేయు or అనుకూలవరచు anukūlamuchēyu. v. a. To shew favour, to bring a thing about, to countenance. సహాయము చేయు, నెరవేర్చు. కార్యమును అనుకూలము చేసికొన్నారు they brought it about, brought it to a conclusion. అనుకూలుడు anukūluḍu. n. A friend, ally, patron. హితుడు, సహాయుడు, ఉపకారి. వాడు నాకు అనుకూలుడు he is well disposed towards me.

(p. 75) amōghamu a-mōghamu. [Skt.] adj. Fruitful, not vain, unerring, efficacious. సఫలమైన, నిరర్థకముకాని. he fell into a deep sleep. వానికి అమోఘవిక్రముడు a man of unerring valor.

(p. 85) arru arru. [Tel.] n. The neck. కంఠము, పశుజాతి, మెడపంపు, కుతిక, ఆపద, హాని. A sore on a bullock's neck occasioned by ploughing. ఆ యెద్దు యొక్క అర్రు కొట్టు కొనిపోయినది the bullock's neck is hurt (by the yoke.) 'అందని ఫలముల కర్రుచాపగనేల.' Kalahasti.

(p. 135) iḍāphalamu iḍā-phalamu. [Skt.] n. The musk orange: a species of citron.

(p. 157) udarkamu udarkamu. [Skt.] n. Future or remote consequence, భవిష్యత్ ఫలము; future time. రాగల కాలము.

(p. 175) ūdibamu ūdibamu. [Tel.] n. Produce, income. ఫలము, ఆదాయము.

(p. 200) ēmi or ఏమీ ēmi. [Tel.] pron. What. నాదగ్గిర యేమిన్ని లేదు. I have nothing with me. వాడు ఏమయినాడు what has become of him? ఇంక చేయవలసినది మరి యేమి లేదు nothing further remains to be done. ఏమైనా ఉండును there may be something. నేనిక్కడ ఉండడమువల్ల ఫలమేమి what is the good of my staying here? సోమ్ము ఏమిన్ని పోలేదు nothing has been lost. ఏమికతంబున (i.e. ఎందునిమిత్తము) for what reason. వాడేమి నేనేమి అంతా ఒక్కటే either he or I, there is no difference. వచ్చినాడా యేమి has he come? నా తండ్రియేమి నేనేమి both my father and I, my father as well as I. ఎవ్వడైనానేమి no matter who it is. అదియేమి యిదియేమి either this or that. ఆ యిల్లు మీకు చాలకయేమి what do you mean by saying the house is too small for you? వాడు రాకయేమి why should he not come? surely, he will? ఏమివచ్చినావు what have you come for? కుక్క యేమి మొరుగుచున్నది how the dog barks! వాడు ఏమిన్ని యేడవలేదు he did not weep at all. ఏమిటి ēmiṭi. pron. & adj. What, of which, what kind of. అదేమిటి what's that? ఏమిటో I don't know what that is వాడు ఏమిటివాడు of what caste is he? ఏమిటికి wherefore, for what reason. ఏమిటికో I know not why. ఏమిన్ని anything whatever. ఏమిన్ని యివ్వడు he will give nothing. ఏమొ or ఏమో ēmo. (ఏమి with ō added for doubt.) I know not what. రాలేదేమో perhaps they did not come.

(p. 224) kaṇṭakamu kaṇṭakamu. [Skt.] n. A thorn, a prickle. A pest, plague, evil, inconvenience, besetting sin, stumbling block ముల్లు, విరుద్ధమైనది, రోమాంచము. కంటకఫలము kaṇṭaka-phalamu. n. The Jack tree పనస. కంటకవృత్తి kaṇṭakavritti. n. Pestering, plaguing, hatefulness. కంటకుడు kantakudu. n. A plague, a tormentor, a tyrant. క్షుద్రశత్రువు. ధర్మకంటకుడు he who hates virtue. ధర్మమై.

Lost, gone, past, over, late. పోయిన, గతదినము the last day. గతఫలము loss of advantage. గతజీవితులయి who had lost their lives. గతకాలము the past time. గతకులము a family which is extinct. గతజలసేతుబంధనము banks for a stream that has run dry, a proverb for pains taken too late (shutting the stable door after the horse is stolen.) గతాహంకారులై he who has lost his wits. గతాహంకారులై they being stripped of their pride. గతము n. Passing away. పోక. గతపడు. gata-paḍu. v. n. To pass away. కడచు. To die చచ్చు గతపడ్డ dead. గతవడగ్రస్తవద్యము or ముక్తవదగ్రస్తవద్యము gata-pada-grasta-padyamu. n. A poetical conceit, Capped lines wherein the last word of each line is repeated at the beginning of the next.
