(p. 137) ibbandi ibbandi. [Tel. ఇను+బంది] n. Strait, inconvenience, ambiguity. నిర్బంధము. తీర్థానికి ఇబ్బందిగానున్నది water is deficient or scarce. ఇబ్బందిగానుండే irksome. ఇబ్బంది పని a troublesome affiar. ఇబ్బందికాడు a troublesome fellow. Also, a mongrel tiger supposed to be begotten by a tiger on a leopard. ఇబ్బంది గుర్రము a horse of doubtful breed.

(p. 228) kakkuriti , కక్కూర్తి kakkuriti. [Tel.] n. Want, defect, a whim, idle desire. లోభము. Hard necessity కష్టము, ఇబ్బంది. పొట్ట కక్కూర్తికై for want of food. కక్కూర్తిగా Absurdly, shamefully, hard beset. కక్కూర్తికాడు one who is in great want.

(p. 247) kamma kamma. [Tel.] n. A branch, or bough of any tree of the palm species. మట్టు. A letter or bond written upon a palm leaf, a bond or agreement. లేఖ. A kind of large drop ear-ring worn by Hindu women. స్త్రీల కర్ణబూషణము. దుద్దు కమ్మ a globular ear-ring: పెద్దకమ్మ or బందరు కమ్మ an ear-ring formed as a cup which hides the whole ear. కమ్మ or కమ్మవారు. n. The name of a class of Telugu Sudras. కమ్మకత్తి a sort of bill-hook used by them. కమ్మది a female of that caste.

(p. 256) kalabanda kalabanda. [Tel.] n. The aloeplant. The Barbadoes aloe, The Indian aloe, Aloe vera. రాకాసికలబంద the American aloe. Agave americana. పెద్దకలబంద or ఎరికతాళి (Bellary) the Bastard Aloe, Agave vivipara. చిన్నకలబంద Aloc litto-ralis. ఈనెకలబంద Aloa officinalis (Watts). కలబందగుంజు the pulp of the aloe.

(p. 269) kāḍu or గాడు kāḍu. [Tel. for వాడు.] (an affix.) He, that man. సొగసుకాడు a pretty fellow. వేషగాడు a masker. Added to names, it denotes meanness or low station in life, thus: అబ్బిగాడు, సుబ్బిగాడు, as in English, a fellow named so and so. It is also part of the names of some animals as ఇబ్బందికాడు a leopard. బావురుగాడు a he cat. పసులుపోలిగాడు the bird called a drongo or kingcrow.

To stop or halt, to remain. వెనుకచిక్కు to remain behind, to fall in the rear. To grow thin or lean. కృశించు. చిక్కని సొమ్ముగానున్నది it is unattainable, it cannot be got. చిక్కించుకొను chikkinṭsu-konu. v. a. To get, obtain. చేతిలో చిక్కించుకొను to get into one's hands, to get hold of. వెతలచిక్కు to be seized with sorrow. ధైర్యము చిక్కనందున as I dared not do so. చిక్కినది the rest, the remainder. చిక్కిపోవు chikki-povu v. n. To become lean. చిక్కు n. A tangle, మెలి. A puzzle, perplexity, intricacy, confusion, entanglement, difficulty, distress, trouble. సంకటము, ఇబ్బంది. చిక్కులుపడు to be in distress or to get into difficulty సంకటపడు. చిక్కులబెట్టు to entangle, to involve, puzzle, to distress or harass; to pinch or stint. చిక్కతీయు to disentangle. చిక్కుగానున్నది it is puzzling. చిక్కుపడ్డ tangled or dishevelled as hair, చిక్కయిన. చిక్కుపాటు entanglement. చిక్కుపడుట, సంకటపడుట. చిక్కు adj. Puzzling, perplexing, entangled, intricate, confused, difficult, troublesome, baffled. చిక్కుజడలు tangled hair. చిక్కుకంపు a rancid smell (of oil .) చిక్కుతాళము. n. A lock with many wards, and which, like a patent lock, can only be opened by those who know it.
