To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (p. 625) naṅga or నంగనాచి nanga [Tel.] n. A weevil, or canker worm, a book worm, a round white worm, (also called వడ్లచిలుక and ముడికొక్కు.) which looks harmless but is destructive. Hence, a demure minx, a sly jade, a specious hypocrite. Sometimes used for a mosquito or gnat because it looks harmless దిట్టతనము కలిగియు బయటికి ఏమియు తెలియని దానివలె నుండునది. Swa. iii. 43. నంగనాచితనము nanga-nāchi-tanamu. n. Feigned simplicity. నంగిమాట nangi-māḷa. n. A nasal sound: a word pronounced through the nose. ముక్కుతో మాట్లాడినమాట. A snuffle, or twang. నంగు nangu. v. n. To speak through the nose: to speak with through the nose: to speak with a twang or snuffle. ముక్కుతో మాట్లాడు.

To incur, undergo, enjoy, feel, పొందు. నేను పడిన బాధ నాకే తెలుసును I alone know what I have suffered. Added to nouns it forms them into verbs. సమ్మతిపడు to agree. సంతోషపడు to be pleased. సంతాపపడు to feel sorry. చింతపడు to be anxious. తిట్లుపడు to be reviled. తొందరపడు to be in distress. భయపడు to fear. మానుపడు to be stunned. వానికి నక్కిళ్లు పడినవి he has the lockjaw. It may be added in a similar way to past participles. ఉలికిపడు to start. తూగిపడు to slumber. It is also added to adjectives or verbs. ఎర్రపడు to redden, blush or turn red. వేరుపడు to be separated. ఏర్పడు to become. It may even be added to an interjection, కటకటపడు to cry Alas, to pity. తహతహపడు to be in trouble. ఆ యిల్లు పడినది that house is fallen in. ఆ వలలో నాలుగు పక్షులు పడినవి four birds were caught in the snare. అక్కడ ఒక పల్లము పడినది a hollow has formed there. ఆ యుద్ధములో నలుగురు పడినారు or పడిపోయినాడు four persons were killed in the battle. వానికి బంకపడుచున్నది he passes slime or mucus. వానికి పురుగులు పడినవి he passed worms. వానికి కుడిచెయ్యి పడినది his right hand has become paralysed. వారు వెనుకపడినారు they fell back, they retired. ఆ మతములో పడినాడు he embraced that religion. పేరుపడన renowned, celebrated, notorious. తటస్థపడినప్పుడు when an opportunity occurs. మరుగుపడినారు they went out of sight. నాకు వచ్చిన ఆపదకు వాడు అడ్డపడినాడు he stood in the way of the misfortune that happened to me. వారిద్దరికిని పడదు they do not agree, they are on bad terms. దానినోటిలో పడకుము do not put it in her power to abuse you. ఆ బావిలో మంచినీళ్లు పడినవి sweet water broke forth in the well. వానితో పడలేను I cannot get on with him. నాకు ఇప్పుడు పోవడము పడదు I cannot go now. ఇంకా విత్తనము పడలేదు the seed is not yet sown. ఆ చేనిలో అడ్డముగా పడి వారిపోయినాడు he ran away across the field. ఆ యిల్లు ఊరికె పడియున్నది that house is unoccupied. ఆ రూకలు ఊరిక పడియున్నవి that money is untouched, it is lying idle. ఆ సంసారము నా నెత్తిని పడినది that family is now left on my hands. ఆ నష్టము నా తలమిద పడినది I incurred that loss. Added to the root in A it forms the passive voice, thus కొట్టపడు to be beaten; చూడబడు to be seen. It is added at pleasure to some adverbs, thus బోర్లపడిన prostrate. తలక్రిందులుపడు to be topsy turvy, upside down, to be conceited. అది బయటపడినది it came to light. The causal form is పరుచు or పరచు. తొందరపరచు to trouble, torment. పడగొట్టు paḍa-goṭṭu. v. a. To knock down. పడదన్ను paḍa-dannu. v. a. To kick down. పడదొక్కు paḍa-lokku. v. a. To tread down. పడదోయు paḍa-dōya. v. a. To thrust down, knock down. పడవేయు paḍa-vēyu. v. a. To cast or throw down. పడిపోవు paḍi-pōvu. v. n. To fall down, to die. ఆయన పడిపోయిన తర్వాత after his decease. పడుకొను paḍu-konu. v. n. To lie down, recline. పడువ paḍuva. n. A very low place. మిక్కిలి పల్లమైనచోటు. పడువరి paḍu-vari. (పడు+వరి.) n. A crop or sprouts produced by seeds of paddy, that fall by chance as the crops are cut. పడ్డ paḍḍa. [contr. for పడిన.] pp. Fallen, &c., thus, పిలువబడ్డవాడు the man who was called. ఉంచబడ్డవాడు he who was kept there.

(p. 751) piṇḍamu pinḍamu. [Skt.] n. A lump of rice, అన్నపుముద్ద, A ball. చెండు. A body, form, living frame. ఆకారము, శరీరము. The fœtus or embryo, గర్భస్థశిశువు. The oblations that are made to deceased ancestors. పితృదేవతలకిచ్చు అన్నపుముద్ద. ఈ గండము గడిచి పిండము బయటపడితే చూతము when the fray is over we shall see what happens. నాడు ఉత్పాతపిండము he is a perfect hero. నాకు పిండానికి లేక చస్తున్నాను I am dying for a bit of bread. పిండముపెట్టు to offer balls of rice to the manes of ancestors. Vēma. iii. 192. పిండలి or పిండలివండ pinḍali. (from పిండము.) n. A lump or mass. ముద్ద, గడ్డ. పిండలి పండు or పిండిలిపండు mud and slush. గడ్డలను నీళ్లును, గడ్డలుకట్టినబురద. 'తురగభురోగ్ధూత ధూళితో బెరసిన, వననిధిపిండలి పండుగాగ.' M. IV. iii. 150. పిండాకూడు or పిండాకుడు pinḍā-kūḍu. n. A contemptuous word for food.

(p. 902) bailu, bayilu or బయలు bailu. [Tel.] n. An open field, plain, area. మైదానము. The outside, the exterior. The sky, the expanse of heaven. బాహ్యము. 'పండిన చేలెల్ల బయలుగా మేసి.' (HD. i. 398.) they devoured the corn fields and reduced them to a bare plain. బయలాడుమాట a voice uttered (or heard) from heaven. 'ధారుణిబడిబయలు దన్నుచు నేడ్చు.' (BD. iii. 878.) the baby was kicking with its legs upwards. adj. Open, clear. బైలుదేరు, బయిలుదేరు, or బయలుదేరు bailu-dēru. v. n. To come forth, break out; to begin, start, set out; to come to light, result, appear, be discovered; to prove true or false. To be shed, or to burst forth as tears, తానును ఒక మగవాడుగా బైలుదేరినాడు he set out as if he was a big man. గడ్డబైలుదేరినది a boil rose. వెన్న బైలుదేరినప్పుడు కుండ పగిలినది when the butter was coming the churn burst. ఇల్లువిడిచి బైలుదేరగానే on leaving the house. ఆ ప్రాంతములలో దొంగలు బైలుదేరిరి thieves broke out in that neighbourhood. బైలుదేర్చు bailu-dērṭsu. v. a. To bring out, elicit, bring to light, exhibit. బైలుపడు or బైలగు bailu-paḍu. v. n. To fall out, come to light, be disclosed. ఆ మర్మము బైలుపడినది the secret came to light. బైలుపరచు, బయలుపరచు or బైలుపుచ్చు bailu-paraṭsu. v. a. To bring to light, to reveal. బైలువెళ్లు or బయలువెడలు bailu-vellu. v. n. To start. బైళ్లు or బయళ్లు baiḷḷu. n. plu. Plains. బైట or బయట baiṭa. adv. On the outside, on the plain. Out. బైటపడు or బయటపడు baiṭa-paḍu. v. n. To come out, come to light. To become public. బైటపెట్టు or బయటపెట్టు baiṭa-peṭṭu. v. a.
