(p. 245) kappu kappu. [Tel.] n. A covering, a cover; the outside of anything: the husk of grain. The exterior surface or coat. Thatch, roof. Colour, as being a cover. Darkness. Blackness: also the dark colour applied to the teeth by some natives. ఇంటికప్పు or పైకప్పు the thatch. మేలుకప్పు a cover. adj. Black, dark, deep (as colour) కప్పుచామన dark red. కప్పు కుత్తుక పులుగు a peacock, as its neck is black. కప్పుతెరువరి fire. కప్పుపచ్చ sap green. కప్పురాయి a sapphire నీలము. కప్పుమల the 'black hill.' కాటుకకొండ. కప్పుమేనిగాము the planet Saturn. (గ్రాము = గ్రహము.) కప్పు కెంపుపొళ్లు crimson rubies. v. n. To spread, extend, come on, to cover, to settle as clouds or smoke. క్రమ్ము. v. a. To cover, to place as a covering. ఆచ్ఛాదించు. కప్పుకొను kappu-konu. v. a. and n. To cover oneself with. కన్నులకప్పుకొను to greet: or rejoice at the sight of. కప్పుడు kappuḍu. n. (p. 317) koḍupu koḍupu. [Tel.] n. A barrel, a cylinder: the length of a bamboo between two knots. A thimble or guard worn on the finger when playing the guitar తంతిమీటుటకు వ్రేలికి వేసుకొనేగోరు. A stick used in striking a gong, a drumstick నగారాకొట్టెకొయ్య; కోణము. A hollow cylinder used in making vermicelli. జంతికలుచేసే సాధనము. అప్పడాల కొడువు a cylindrical stick used in flattening cakes. బలపపుకొడుప a slate pencil. జమ్ముకొడుపు the pod or cylindrical head of a bulrush. బొడుకొడువు or బల్లలకొడుపు (BD. iii. 2240.) a clog fastened to the neck of a bad tempered cow గదికొయ్య.

(p. 580) dabbu dabbu. [Tel.] v. t. To tell. చెప్పు. n. A word, మాట. The cover of a jar, మూకుడు; దబ్బడము. The noise made by a blow on anything. A clapping sound, బల్లలుమొదలైన వాటిని గుద్దినచప్పుడు. దబ్బుపెట్టు to cover మూయు.

(p. 848) prōsagu prāsagu. [Tel.] adj. Old. పాతగిలిన. 'పలకల నేరినప్రాసంగుబ్రాలు, నలపడము న్నూట యరువదిపుట్లు,' BD. v. 1229. అనగా బల్లలమీద నేర్పరచిన పాతబియ్యము. n. Old grain, పాతధాన్యము.

(p. 872) balla balla. [Skt.] n. A bench, plank, board, table. A ship's deck. The disease called spleen. గుల్మము. వారు బల్లమీద కూర్చుండిరి they were sitting on a bench. రెండుబల్లలను ౛తచేయుము join the two planks together. అతనికడుపులో బల్లకట్టుకొన్నది or బల్లపెరిగినది he has a enlargement of the spleen. నీరుబల్ల the dropsy బల్లకట్టు balla-kaṭṭu. n. A large flat bottomed boat, a raft. వెడలుపైన అడుగుగల పడవ. బల్లకూర్పు balla-kūrpu. n. Wainscotting, planking, joiner's work. బల్లకూర్పుటిల్లు a house built of boards. బల్లకోల balla-kōla. n. A sort of spear of harpoon. పంట్రకోల. 'భ్రమితేంద్రియములను బలునిర్రె నేసి, భాషాప్రణీతమన్బలుబల్లకోల, నీషణత్రయమను నెలుగుకన్నొడిచి.' BD. v. 1443. బల్లగోలలవారు balla-gōlala-vāru. n. Lancers. 'వరుసనుబహుపుష్ఫ వాటికల్ నాటి, జాలవారిని దివ్వటీలను బల్లగోలలవారిని గుడిపూజరులను.' BD. iii. 1016.
