(p. 17) ambāramu ambāramu. [H.] A heap of grain. ధాన్యరాశి. Also, the government share in a crop. (Vizag) అంబారసొఝు to heap up grain అంబారములుగా పడియుండు to lie in heaps. ఉభయరాశి అంబారము a heap of grain containing both the shares due to government to the landholder.

To be decided, నిర్ణీతమగు. ఒకరిని పాలుబోక ఆ పనిని అట్టె పడవేసిపెట్టినారు no one undertook the work, so it was left undone. అది యెటు వ్రాయడానకు పాలుపోక విడిచినాను unable to decide how to write the passage. I omitted it. పాలుభోగగ్రామము pālu-bhōga-grā-mamu. n. A village wherein each field is held as one man's separate property.

(p. 794) pēḍu or పేను pēḍu. [Tel.] v. a. To twist, entwine. పేను. తొడమీద బారము పేనుచుండగా while he was twisting the thread on the thigh.

(p. 878) bārakamu or భారకము bārakamu. [from Skt. భారము.] n. Weight, heaviness; a burden, load.బరువు. A crisis, ముమ్మరము. జ్వరము నిండా బారకముగానున్నది the fever is at its height or crisis. బారకించు or భారకించు bārakinṭsu. v. n. To become severe, as fever. బారమగు. నాకు ఒళ్లు బారకించులాగున నున్నది I have a prospect of illness. బారకాడి bāra-kāḍi. n. A break, or yoke in which bullocks are trained. క్రొత్త యెద్దును పాతయెడ్లతో కట్టేకాడి. బారవట్టె or వారపట్టె bāra-paṭṭe. n. A chief beam lying on pillars.

(p. 1005) mudra mudra. [Skt.] n. A seal: a seal ring, or signet. The stamp, print, or impression of a seal. A distinguishing mark impressed or burned upon a man or beast. Coinage. మునుపటిముద్ర రూపాయి a rupee of the old coinage. Gesticulation, attitude. మౌనముద్ర the seal of silence, i.e., silence. నిద్రాముద్ర the seal of sleep, i.e., sound sleep. జ్ఞానముద్ర a particular position of the fingers used in religious ceremonies. ముద్రలు marks impressed upon sand or clay placed on heaps of grain, the permanent marks made on the shoulders representing the insignia of Vishnu which are the shell and the wheel, &c. వాడు ముద్రాధారణము చేసికొనినాడు he received the seals, i.e., his shoulders were sealed with the shell and wheel of Vishṇu. మధ్యులు గోపిముద్రలు వేసికొందురు they wear patches of brown clay. వానికి శునకముద్ర వేసినారు they stamped him with the figure of a dog. ముద్రకర్త mudra-karta. n. An apparitor, the lowest local officer attached to a Guru or priest, ఆయా స్థలములలో గురువుయొక్క తాబేదారుగానుండేవాడు. ముద్రకోల mudra-kōla. n. A stamp to mark or seal with. The insignia of Vishnu, being the shell and wheel made in copper. ముద్రవేయు సాధనము, ముద్రధారణముచేయు సుదర్శన పాంచజన్యములు. ముద్రగడ mudra-gaḍa. n. A sceptre, a royal staff. 'తన ముద్రగడవేరుతలగ బట్టించి.' Pal. 450. A wooden stamp. ముద్రగరిటె mudra-gariṭe. n. To seal. ఈబోగమువాండ్లు ఆగుడికి ముద్రవేయబడినారు these dancing girls are dedicated to that temple. ముద్రాంకితము mudr-ānkitamu. adj. Sealed, marked with a seal. ముద్రవేయబడిన. ముద్రాంకితుడు mudr-āankituḍu. adj. One who is impressed with shoulder. సమాశ్రయణము. చేసికొన్నవాడు. ముద్రాక్షరశాల mudr-āksharu-ṣāla. n. A press or printing office. అచ్చుయిల్లు, అచ్చుకూటము. ముద్రించు mudrinṭsu. v. a. To seal. ముద్రవేయు, అచ్చువేయు. 'మృషావాదింజేయుదు ననుతలంపు ముద్రించి.' HN. v. 176. ముద్రిక mudrika. n. (p. 1068) rasamu rasamu. [Skt.] n. Juice, fluid, liquid, extract, essence. Taste, flavour, రుచి. Taste, sentiment, emotion, passion, affection, humour. Quicksilver, పాదరసము. The షడ్రసములు or six flavours are మధురము or తీసి sweet; ఆమ్లము or పులుసు sour; తిక్తము or వగరు astringent; లవణము or ఉప్పు salt; కటువు or కారము pungent; కషాయము or చేదు bitter. రసఖండమైనభూమి or రసవత్తైనభూమి strong soil, which is not exhausted. నీరసమైనభూమి land that is exhausted. కోపరసము the spirit of wrath. దయారసము the spirit of love, kind feelings. ఈ పద్యములో రసములేదు this is a tasteless verse. విరసమైనమాటలు rude language. The nine రసములు or humours produce the following స్థాయీభావములు (symptoms.) 1. శృంగారరసము (love) produces రతి enjoyement. 2. నీరసము (honour) produces ఉత్సాహము daring. 3. కరుణారసము (mercy) begets విస్మయము marvel. 5. హాస్యరసము (merriment) produces హాస్యభావము laughter. 6. భయానకరసము (timidity) leads to భయము fright. 7. బీభత్సరసము (austerity) begets జుగుప్స sarcasm. 8. రౌద్రరసము (wrath) leads to క్రోధము cruelty. 9. శాంతరసము. (gentleness) produces శమభావము calmness. రసకర్పూరము rasa-karpūramu. n. A white sublimate or muriate of mercury, కర్పూరరసము. రసగుండు rasa-gunḍu. n. A ball coated with quicksilver, రసముపూరినగుండు. రసజ్ఞు rasa-gnya. n. The tongue, నాలుక. రజజ్ఞత rasa-gnyata. n. Skill, judgement, taste, critical discernment, తెలివి. రసజ్ఞుడు rasa-gnyuḍu. n. A man of taste, a critic. గుణదోషములనెరిగినవాడు. రసదాడి or రసదాళి rasa-dāḍi. n. Sugar cane. చెరుకు. 'మమధురస్థూలదాడిమబీజములతోడ, దసరారురసదాడిగనెలతోడ.' A. ii. 85. A sort of factitious cinnabar, made with zinc, mercury, blue vitriol and nitre, ఔషధవిశేషము. రససిద్ధి rasa-siddhi. n. Alchemy, రసవాదము. 'ధమనీయఖంబున గ్రాలించిమెరుంగుపసిడి గనెరససిద్దిన్.' R. vi. 10. రసాంజనము a kind of collyrium. అంజనవిశేషము. రసాతలము rasā-talamu. n. A name of Hades. పాతాళలోకము. రసాభాసము ras-ābhāsamu. n. Bad taste, inelegance. adj. Disagreeable, disgusting. విరసమైన. ఆ శ్లోకమును దిద్ది రసాబాసము చేసినాడు in correcting the verse he has spoiled it, he showed bad taste in correcting it. రసాభాసముగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke coarsely. ఆయిల్లు నిండా రసాభాసముగా నున్నది that house is very disagreeable. ఊరేగుచుండగా వాన వచ్చి అంతా రసాభాసమైపోయినది when the marriage procession was going on, there was a shower and everything was upset. రసాయనము ras-āyanamu. n. A panacea, a medicine preventing old age and prolonging life, జరావ్యాధిహరౌషధము. Butter milk, sweet curds, గోరసము, చల్ల. Poison, విషము. 'తననచో మాధుర్యమెనయు నా యివి చూడుమన్నట్లు మేలిరసాయనములు, ఒప్పుగా గిన్నియలనుంచి యపచరించి.' T. iii. 18. టీ రసాయనములు, తీసిగలిగిన పదార్థములు. రసాల rasāla. n. A pudding or mess of curds, mixed up with sugar and spices. పెరుగులో ననేక ద్రవ్యములు వేసి చేసినది. రసాలము rasālamu. n. The sugar cane, చెరుకు. Also, the sweet mango tree, తియ్యమామిడి చెట్టు. రసావళ్లు ras-āvaḷḷu. n. A kind of cakes. 'తన యింటనప్పుడాయితమొనరించినకమ్మదావు లొలుకురసావళ్లునుమినుపవడలు జాపట్లునుగోదుమ పిండివంటలున్ గలవనినన్.' Vish. iii. 377. రసి or రసిక rasi. [Tel.] n. The pus, or matter of a sore, serum. పుంటిచీము. రసిక rasika. [Skt.] n. A woman of taste. రసికురాలు. రసికత or రసికత్వము rasikata. [Skt.] n. Good taste or judgement. రసజ్ఞత. రసికుడు rasikuḍu. A man of taste. శృంగారాదిరసములను గ్రహించువాడు, రసజ్ఞుడు. రసితము rasi-tamu. n. Sound noise, thunder. ధ్వని, ఉరుము.

(p. 1075) rāyabāramu or రాయభారము rāya-bāramu. [for Skt. రాజభారము.] n. A negotiation, message, embassy. Intercession. సంధిచేయడము, దౌత్యము. రాయబారి or రాయభారి rāya-bāri. n. An ambassador. సంధిచేయువాడు, దూత.

(p. 1281) sambāramu or సంబారు sam-bāramu. [from Skt. సంభారము.] n. A mixture of spices for seasoning. Spicery, condiments, curry powder, కూరలలో వేయు రసవర్గము, ఆవాలు మెంతులు జీలకర్ర మొదలైనవి. సంబారపుచింతపండు tamarind mixed with spicery. మెంతికూర సంబారంపు చింతపండులు బజ్జులు.' H. i. 113.

(p. 1303) samukhamu sa-mukhamu. [Skt.] n. Presence, proximity, nearness. ఎదురు, సమక్షము, సామీప్యము. సముఖమునకు వచ్చి రాయబారము చేయు to come into a man's presence and then send an embassy to him, that is to do an unnecessary thing.
