State, condition, situation: trouble, difficulty, atrait. దశ, సంకటము. వాడు నిండా దురవస్థలోనున్నాడు he is in a wretched state. అవస్థాత్రయము, అనగా జాగ్రత్స్వప్నసుషుప్తులు the three states: viz., waking, sleeping and dreaming. అవస్థాచతుష్టయము, అనగా బాల్యావస్థ the period of childhood. యావనావస్థ the period of youth. వార్ధకావస్థ old age. మరణావస్థ the agony of death.

(p. 314) koṇḍika konḍika. [Tel.] adj. Young చిన్న n. An infant, a little boy. బాలుడు. కొండికిడి a little girl బాలిక. కొండికనాడు childhood బాల్యకాలము.

(p. 416) cinnavāḍu chinna-nadu. n. Boyhood బాల్యకాలము, బాల్యము, చిన్నపుచ్చు chinna-puṭsṭsu. v. t. To disgrace, slight, contemn, treat lightly. చిన్నపోవు chinna-pōvu. v. n. To be disgraced, downcast, low-spirited. చిన్నవాడు chinna-vāḍu. n. A boy, a young man. పెద్ద చిన్నవాడు the eldest boy, నాకన్న చిన్నవాడు one younger than me నాచిన్నవాడు పెద్దవాడు అయ్యేదాక until my son grows up. చిన్నవాండ్లు children, offspring.

(p. 584) daśa daṣa. [Skt.] n. State, condition. అవస్థ. Power, authority, influence. Luck. fortune. బాల్యదశ childhood. వృద్ధదశ old age. క్రామదశవచ్చెను a time of famine came. నీ జాతకప్రకారము రెండు దశలు భాగ్యనుభవించివలసి నదిన్ని రెండుదశలు గ్రహచారము అనుభవించవలసినదిన్ని your destiny gives you two portions of good and two of evil. ఆ రాజు ఎన్ని దశలు బాగ్యమును అనుభవించినాడు what proportion of the king's life was happy? గ్రహదశ the influence of the stars. మహాదశ the rule or away of the predominant planet, qualified or modified by అంతర్ధశ the several influences of the minor planets. అతడు జీవదశనున్నప్పుడు when he was alive. కష్టదశలోనున్నాడు he is in difficulties.

(p. 835) prabhūtamu prabhriti. [Skt.] n. A beginning, మొదలు. adv. After that, thence, beginning with, &c. బాల్యాత్ప్రభృతి ever since my youth. శివహరిప్రభృతులు Siva, Hari and the rest. మునిప్రభృతిజనములు the ascetics and the rest.

(p. 880) bāla bāla. [Skt.] adj. Young, tender, fresh. బాలసంసారము an infant family, a family of orphans. n. A damsel, maid, virgin, పదునారేండ్లకులోబడినపిల్ల. A stubborn woman, మూర్ఖురాలు. బాలకశాండ bāla-kānḍa. n. The name of the first book of the Rāmayana. బాలకుడు bālakudu. n. A youth. పదునారేండ్లకు లోబడిన పిల్లవాడు. బాలగ్రహము bāla-grahamu. n. An ogre or fairy that frightens infants. B. X. 254. బాలబోధ a child's instruction; a child's primer. బాలనాయకము the follies of a young heir. బాల లత a tender creeper. బాలింత, బాలెంత, బాలింతరాలు or బాలెంతరాలు bālinta. n. A woman in childbed. 'అబాధ్వంసిని గొంటుకట్టిడివెసల్ బాలింత చందంబునన్ బాలిండ్లన్ విషమూని.' B. X. 209. బాలింతబోళము bālinta-bōlamu. n. A particular medicine given to a woman in child bed. బాలింతరోగము or బాలెంతరోగము bālinta-rogamu. n. Puerperal fever. బాలిక bālika. n. A lass, or maiden. బాల. బాలకాకులము young women. ముత్తాళిబాలికలు young female bees. బాలిశము bāliṣamu. adj. Silly, childish, puerile. పసి, మూర్ఖమైన, జ్ఞానశూన్యమైన. M. VIII. iv. 234. బాలిశుడు bāliṣuḍu. n. A fool, a simpleton, అవివేకిమూర్ఖడు. M. XII. vi. 111. బాలుడు bāluḍu. n. A youth, a lad. నెలబాలుడు the new moon when one day old. Plu: బాలురు. బాలేయము bālēyamu. adj. Agreeable to a child. బాలునికి హితమైన. Soft, మెత్తని. బాల్యము bālyamu. n. Childhood, పసితనము.
