(p. 28) accu aṭṭsu. n. A stamp, a form for printing or for any other impression, a type, a printing press. An axle-tree. A mould. The handle of a handmill, A weaver's reed or stay. An image, or picture. ప్రతి రూపమును కల్పించేటిది, ఇరుసుమాను, తిరగటి పిడి, బట్ట వేసేటందుకు సాధనమైనది, ప్రతిబింబము. పోత అచ్చు the mould wherein clay or metal is cast. ఇటికె అచ్చు the box or mould used in making bricks. అచ్చక్షరములు printed letters. అచ్చువేయు to print. ఇంకా అచ్చువేయని unprinted, unpublished.అచ్చువేసేవాడు a printer. అక్షరాల అచ్చులు types of letters. బెల్లపు అచ్చు a square mould into which boiled treacle is poured, and thus formed into cakes. అచ్చుబెల్లము a lump of jaggery, అచ్చొత్తు to seal, impress with a mark, to print అచ్చుకూటము (a Madras word,) A printing press office ముద్రాశాల. అచ్చుబల్ల the frame on which a weaver's reed is fixed. అచ్చువేసినయెద్దు a 'brahminy' bull that is marked or stamped and is allowed to wander at large, as consecrated to the deity. అచ్చుకట్టు or అచ్చుకట్టువేయు v. a. To prepare land for wet cultivation by throwing up banks to divide it into plots, partitions or beds. మళ్లుగా ఏర్పరచు అచ్చుకట్టించినమడి or అచ్చుకట్టు పొలము a field which is divided into beds for wet cultivation. అచ్చులపోయు to find yarn on the frame for weaving (Cuddapa.) అచ్చుగా aṭṭsu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Precisely, exactly, clearly, evidently. 'పిచ్చుకపై బ్రహ్మాస్తము నచ్చుగ దొడిగినవితాన.' T. iv. 22.

(p. 71) abhivyakti abhi-vyakti. [Skt.] n. Revelation, declaration, expression, making evident. Reflection. ప్రకాశము, ప్రతిబింబము. 'నిజమంజీరాగ్రరత్నస్వలీలాభివ్యక్తి.' Vasu. i. 1.

(p. 226) kanduva kanduva. [Tel.] n. 1. A way, path. 2. A place, locality, quarter ప్రదేశము 3. A season ఋతువు. 4. Fashion, mode, device, trick, peculiarity. 5. Fiction fraud, మాయ; archness, a prank, a wrench, or a twist. చమత్కారము, నేర్పు. 6. Finesse, innuendo, aquibble, చలోక్తి; refinement, prettiness. 7. A token, or mark, trace, track. ౛ాడ, సంకేతస్థలము, ఏకాంతము. వానకందచువ the rainy season. ఇరుకందువ on both sides. 'మునుతాసుచనిన కందువ. వెదకుచు కావలలోపలికి.' Sar. D. vii. 211. 'ఇందుబింబముమీది కందువచందలబునకురులు నెమ్మొగమున నెరసియుండ.' M. IV. ii. 137. 'కందువచందమామ.' V. P. ii. 51. కందువ adj. Peculiar, odd, queer, Pretty, curious, Cunning, false, fictitious. కందువమాటలు a quibble: a play upon words. కందువ పద్మము a fairy lily, not a real one. కందువ రాజులు mere pretenders: mock warriors.

(p. 280) kāsu kāsu. [Tel.] n. A small copper coin, a pie. A coin in general, whether gold, silver or copper, thus బంగారు కాసు a gold coin. మడికాసు a silver coin (lit. white coin. 'అది సుధాకరబింబమా కాదు మడికాసువన్నె వేలుపుటన్నువత్తి గాని.' P. iv. 251, 551. కాసైనా లేదు there is not even a farthing. (The కాసు or farthing was called cash by the English, and the coin called ten cash was about one halfpenny: 'twenty cash' being a penny, and eighty cash a fanam.) కాసంత kāsanta. n. A pie's worth కాసంతలేదు not a bit remains.

(p. 828) pratiphaliñcu prati-phalinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To reflect or give the image of. ప్రతిబింబమగుపడు. ప్రతిఫలనము pratiphalanamu. n. A reflection of an image. నీడ అగుపడడము, మారురూపముతోచుట.

(p. 829) pratibimbamu prati-bimbamu. [Skt.] n. A reflection, as in a mirror, resemblance. ప్రతిఫలనము. ప్రతిబింబించు prati-bimbinṭsu. v. a. To reflect back, as a mirror does. ప్రతిఫలించు. ప్రతిబింబితము prati-bimbitamu. adj. Reflected, as an image.

(p. 833) prannana or ప్రన్నదనము prannand. [Tel.] n. Beauty. అందము. 'అధ్వరంబుకంటె నధికంబుతపము, తపమనంగమేని బ్రన్నదనము, నివురసేతగాద హింసయు సత్యవాక్యంబుదమముదయయుగాన.' M. XII. ii. 361. మేనిప్రన్నదనము శివురసేతగాదు, అనగా దేహముయొక్క అందమును నశింపచేయడముకాదు. adv. Beautifully, సొగసుగా. 'అపూర్వపు బంతము వింటి వేయనన్, బ్రన్నననవ్వియాకొలది బంతములెవ్వరు జేయరుర్విలో.' G. xi. 60. ప్రన్నని or ప్రన్న prannani. adj. Beautiful, handsome, సొగసైన. 'భాసురచంద్రబింబమున బ్రన్ననివెన్నెల కందునుంబలెన్.' Ellana. iii. 190. ప్రన్నని వెన్నెల అనగా సొగసైనవెన్నెల.

(p. 882) bimbamu bimbamu. [Skt.] n. An image, figure, shape, form, shadow, reflection. ప్రతిమ, ప్రతిబింబము. An orb or disc, as of the sun or moon. (సూర్యచంద్ర) మండలము. A scarlet fruit in colourlike a cherry, the Momordica monadelpha, దొండపండు (to which lips are compared in poetry.) బింబోష్ఠి or బింబాధర a rosy or rubylipped maid. బింబితము bimbitamu. adj. Imaged, reflected, as in a mirror, ప్రతిబింబించిన.

(p. 1407) bimbamu bimbama. [Skt.] n. A lens. మధ్యనిమ్న బింబము a concave lens. స్ఫటికాకార బింబము a crystalline lens.

(p. 927) bhṛguvu bhṛiguvu. [Skt.] n. A precipice, cliff. పర్వతతటము, కొండచరియ. A name of Sukra. శక్రుడు. భృంగువాసరము Friday. భృగుపతనము bhrigu-patanamu. n. A fall from a precipice. 'రవినీలనగాయతశృంగవర్తియై భృగుపతనం బొనర్చెననబింబముతో పడెపశ్చిమాంబుధిన్.' K. P. iv. 220.

(p. 934) maṇḍalamu manḍalamu. [Skt.] n. The disc (of the sun, moon and stars.) సూర్యచంద్రాదులబింబము. An orb, బింబము. A circumference in general; or the circle which bounds the view, the sensible horizon. A halo, పరివేషము. A province, district, country or empire; a region, place. దేశము. ముఖమండలము the face. A heap, a quantity. A multitude, an assembly. సమూహము. A division of the Rig-Veda. The period of forty days. మండలార్ధము twenty days. ఈ ఔషధము ఒకమండలము దినములు పుచ్చుకోవలసినది, లేక, సేవించవలెను you should take this medicine for forty days. Standing with the legs apart, as an archer sometimes does. ధన్వినిన్యస్తపాదస్థితిభేదము. Leprosy, కుష్ఠము. మండలాగ్రము manḍal-agramu. n. A sword, a scimitar, కత్తిమండలి manḍali. n. Society, an assembly, సమూహము. A dog,కుక్క. A cat, పిల్లి. A serpent, పాము. మండలేశ్వరుడు manḍal-ēṣvaruḍu n. An independent sovereign, a monarch. చత్వారింశ ద్యోజనభూపాలకలక్ష గ్రామాధిపతి, ద్రుపదాదౌ.

(p. 944) maḍi maḍi. [Tel. from మడగు.] n. Purity, an unpolluted cloth, clean clothes. శుచి, ధౌతవస్త్రము. మడితోనుండు to be dressed in clean garments, as a Brahmin, when he takes his meals. ఎక్కడికిపోయినా నా మడితప్పను go where I may, I will not break the rule of purity. adj. Pure, clean. శుచిగానుండే. మడిబట్ట a clean cloth. మడికాసు maḍi-kāsu. n. Silver, వెండి. (Thus, white money was an old English word for silver.) మడికాసుకొండ the hill of silver, i.e., రజతగిరి. 'అదిసుధాకర బింబమా కాదు మడి కాసువన్నె వేలుపుటున్నువత్తిగాని.' P. iv. 251. మడిచేరు maḍi-chēru. n. The end of a woman's cloth tucked up behind. మడివేలు maḍi-vēlu. n. A washerman. చాకలి. మడిసంచి maḍi-sanchi. n. A pure or sacred bag. మడివస్త్రములను ఉంచుసంచి. మడిసంచి maḍi-sandi. n. The arm pit, చంక, కక్షము.

(p. 1281) sambāḷiñcu sam-bāḷinṭsu. [from Skt. సంభావించు.] v. a. To comfort, console, ఆదరించు. 'బింబముల సంజాళించు గెమ్మోవిడాలు.' పాంచా. ii.

(p. 1349) sūryuḍu sūryuḍu. [Skt.] n. The sum. భాస్కరుడు. సూర్యకాంతము sūrya-kāntamu. n. The sun-gem tourmaline, అదిత్యశిల, సూర్యరశ్మితగులుటచేట నిప్పుకలిగెడు ఒక విధమైన రాయి. A well known medicinal herb. సూర్యకాంతిపుష్పము or సూర్యావర్తము sūrya-kānti-pushpamu. n. The sun-flower. Helianthus annuuṣ. పొద్దుతిరుగుడుపువ్వు. సూర్యపటము Same as సూరపటము. (q. v.) సూర్యపాను sūrya-pānu. n. A triangular perpendicular paraso or fan, resembling a fire screen. See సురేపాను. సూర్యపుటము sūrya-puṭamu. n. Exposure to the sun. ఎండబెట్టడము. సూర్యపుటముపెట్టు to inspissate fluid medicines or extracts by exposure to the sun. సూర్యపుత్రుడు sūrya-putruḍu. n. The son of Hellus: an epithet of Ṣani, of Yama and the Varuna. శనిగ్రహము, యముడు, వరుణుడు. సుర్యప్రభ sūrya-prabha. n. The disc or orb of the sun; also a vehicle or seat with a gift aureole, సూర్యబింబము, ఒక దేవత వేంచేయు సూర్యాకారమైన వాహనము. సూర్యవాద్యము sūrya-vādyamu. n. A tambourine or small double tabor. పాగామీద కట్టుకొనివాయించే సూర్యాకారమైన చర్మవాద్యము.
