(p. 7) aṇṭa anṭa. [Tel.] n. A crowd. A platter formed of leaves stitched together విస్తరి. ఒక అంటపొడుచుకొనిరా stitch the leaves as a platter. అంటగట్టు anṭagaṭṭu. [From అంటు to touch] v. a. To join together, to unite, to tie together చేర్చికట్టు. దీనితో అంటగట్టినపద్దులు the items joined with this. అంటలుగట్టు v. To assemble in mobs. గుంపులుకూడు, జతిచేరు. (p. 81) arimi arimi. [Tel.] n. A disease to which children are subject, tonsilitis, బిడ్డలగొంతునకు వచ్చే ఒక రోగము. 'ఏలపలుకవు చెప్పవే యన్న నీకు, నరిమియో కోపయోయంగిటి ముల్లో.' Bhallana iii. 726.

(p. 277) kālu kālu. [Tel.] n. A leg, a foot, a claw, a talon. మోకాలు the knee. మిగాలు the upper surface of the foot. A pillar. నూరుకాళ్లమంటపము a portico built on 100 pillars. A quarter or fourth part. ముక్కాలు being three legs, or quarters. Bilh. ii. 154. కాళ్లకడ at the feet. కాళ్లజెర్రి a centipede. కంపకాలు a fence: lit. a fence-foot. కాలిడొంక (A. vi. 16) a foot path. కాలుత్రవ్వు to paw the ground, to be eager for fighting. M. Guard, custody. రక్షణము. చేకావలి an alternative, a thing kept as a stand by; a provision. చెయ్యికావలిగా నుండేస్తంభము a piece of wood kept in reserve. కావలికాడు or కావలివాడు kāvali-kāḍu. n. A sentinel, a watchman. రక్షకుడు. కావలిబొట్టు a black mark put on the face of children for good luck బిడ్డలకు రక్ష గానుంచే నల్లని బొట్టు.

(p. 285) kisaru kisaru. [Tel.] n. Sharpness, tartness. Bad humours in the body: the evil eye: mischief done to infants by the touch of an impure person. అంటుసోకుటవల్ల బిడ్డలకు కలిగే దోషము. (p. 557) tokku or త్రొక్కు tokku. [Tel.] v. n. & a. To step, tread, or perform a dance, అణగదొక్కుట (A. ii. 104.) to pound, stamp, trample on, crush, macerate. పొరుగిల్లుతొక్కక not entering your neighbour's house. పొలిమేరతొక్కు to lay down or define a boundary line by treading on it. కొమ్మతొక్కు to lay down suckers or branches from a tree. తొక్కిచూచు to go and examine in person: to inspect personally. దిగదొక్కు to blink or put out of view, to suppress. తొక్కు. n. The unright mark drawn in the forehead by the Vaishṇavites. నొసట పెట్టుకొనే బొట్టు. నామాంకితము placing one's name in a (poetical) dedication, &c. నామకరణము nāma-karaṇamu. n. (p. 745) pāla pāla. [Tel. from పాలు milk.] n. The bird called the Indian Roller, boracias indica (F.B.I.) the flight of which is consulted as an omen. It is erroneously called a blue jay. Various varieties are called గొర్రెపాలపిట్ట and మేకపాలపిట్ట. See Jerdon No. 243. A treatise on Omens says. 'పాలగరుడతప్ప పక్షిజాతులకెల్ల నెడమమండికుడికి నెగయవలయు.' పాల or పాలతీగ n. A certain tree, ఇక్షుగంధ, క్షీరికావృక్షము; of which there are various species as, అడవిపాలతీగ Nerium reticulatum, కాకిపాలతీగ Asclepias asthmatica, దూదిపాలతీగ Asclepias volubilis, మట్టపాలతీగ Convolvulus paniculatus; చిరుపాల, అనగా ఉటని. A shell used as a spoon or ladle in giving milk to a child. పాలతుత్తము or పాలతుత్తరము pāta-tuttamu. n. White vitriol. పాలపండ్లు pāla-panḍlu. n. Milk teeth. 'చిటివేలిపూసపై ఘటియిల్లు పెడకట్టి చిమ్ముల నురియడాల్ముమ్మరముగ.' A. vi. 104. వెన్నపూస a bit of butter, i.e., butter. 'పుట్టనియట్టి బిడ్డలకు పూసలు కట్టుదు రమ్మలక్కలు.' (Ahalya. iii. 63.) women call for necklaces for their children before they are born, i.e., they count the chickens before they are hatched. పూసగ్రుచ్చినరీతి (KP. iv. 193.) in regular order. పూసకజ్జెము pūsa-kajjemu. n.
