(p. 116) ānu ānu. [Tel.] v. a. To press on, put on. అణచు, ధరించు. To drink. తేంట్లు మద్యములానును the bess drink honey. పాలిండ్లన్ విషమాని putting poison on her nipples. చేతులచెవులాని putting his hands to his ears. అనిక āninṭsu. v. a. To cause to rest on. ఆనిక ānika. n. A support, strength. అనుకర్ర ānu-karra. n. A prop. ఊతకోల. అనుకొను ānu-konu. v. a. To lean against or on. To border on, be contiguous to. ఆడివిని ఆనుకొన్న చేనులు lands bordering on the forest. ఓడను ఆనుకొన్న పడవలు the boats that were alongside the ship. ఆనుడు బిళ్ల ānuḍu-biḷḷa. n. A cushion to lean on, a semicircular cushion or pillow. ఒరుగుదిండు.

(p. 1398) obagidiga ogi-diga. [Tel.] n. An ornament worn on the head by women. జడబిళ్ల.

(p. 213) oragu or ఒరుగు oragu. [Tel.] v. n. To lean, bend, bow down, slant, be inclined, recline or lie down, to be weighed down, as scales. వంగు, వాలు. ఒరగి crouching, hiding. పడవ ఒరిగెను the boat leant on one side. ఒరిగి పడినాడు he tumbled down. మిన్నొరిగినట్లు crashingly, suddenly, as though the skies were falling, ఆ లెక్కను నామీద నొరగదోసినాడు he got that debt charged against me. ఒరగు n. Crookedness వంపు. ఒరగు, ఒరగుదిండు, ఒరగుడుదిండు, or ఒరగుబిళ్ల a cushion or large pillow to lean against. adj. Crooked వంపైన. ఒరగుపోవు or ఒరగబడు Same as ఒరగు. q.v.

(p. 217) ōḍu ōḍu. [Tel.] n. Defeat, loss, failure, a forfeit, a crack, chink, hole. ఆ పెనము ఓడుగానున్నది that saucepan is cracked. ఓడుబిళ్ల ōḍu-biḷḷa. Pan tiles, such as are used for roofs. T. iv. 202.

(p. 226) kandena kandena. [Tel.] n. Grease for carriage wheels. కందెనబిళ్ల the leather or washer put on an axle tree.

(p. 317) koṭṭu koṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A blow, a stroke. దెబ్బ. A storehouse, a godown. సామగ్రులుంచెడిగడి. A jail. కొట్టుడుబిళ్ల ko&ttod&ttod;u-biḷḷa. n. A taw, at marbles. కొట్టుపడు koṭṭu-paḍu. n. Nothing, nonsense. గాలిగూళ్లు (from గూడు.) gāli-gūḷḷu. n. A mode of arranging sheaves so as to be aired. గాలిగొను gāli-gonu. v. n. To be aired. గాలిపారు. గాలిగోపురము gāli-gōpuramu. n. (p. 388) gobbi gobbi. [Tel.] n. Name of a Hindu goddess. The name of a feast or holiday kept by girls in the month Pushyam. గొబ్బెమ్మ a lump of cowdung worshipped as a goddess on this occasion; a dance practised by young girls. గొబ్బికాయలు gobbi-kāyalu. n. A sort of grain H. iv. 156. గొబ్బిచెట్టు gobi-cheṭṭu. n. A plant called Barleria longifolia, కోకిలాక్షకము. One kind is నీరుగొబ్బి. గొబ్బిళ్లు gobbiḷḷu. n. Capering: dancing. (V. P. VII. 211.) Dancing in honour of a god. Salutation, respects. దండము, నమస్కారము. 'రగడ వజ్రపురిలో తావళమై చిక్కిన గోపప్రియునకు గొబ్బిళ్లనుచును.' H.iv. 273.

Curds beaten with water, buttermilk. మజ్జిగ. చల్లకైవచ్చి ముంత దాచనేల, చల్లకు పోయి ముంత దాచడమేమి why conceal your pot when you come for buttermilk, i.e., why do you beat about the bush? or, why mince the matter? చల్ల or చల్లని adj. Cool, cold. శీతము. Benign, merciful, healing. Comfortable. చల్లకము ṭsallakamu. n. Sprinkling. Watering, irrigation. చల్లుట. చల్లకడి ṭsalla-kaḍi. n. Flummery: buttermilk mingled with fenugreek. మెంతిమజ్జిగ. చల్లకవ్వము ṭsalla-kavvamu. n. A churn-staff: The bird called King-fisher: also a name for the insect called గొల్ల భామపురుగు mantis precatoria. చల్లగడ్డ ṭsalla-gaḍda. n. The linear leaved asparagus. Asparagus sarmentosus, Willden. Easily, gently, well, safely, comfortably: in good health, softly, deliberately. చల్లగాచూచు to look at or regard with satisfaction. చల్లగామాట్లాడు to speak coolly or gently. మీదొరతనము చల్లగా నుండవలెను may your reign be peaceful! వాని చెయ్యి చల్లగా నుండవలెను may his hand be blessed! 'తే అందరికి నన్నివగల నానాందమిచ్చి, చల్లచేయగ.' (Ila. i. 79.) with her graces she charmed them all, cheering and refreshing their hearts. కన్నులచల్లచేసె. (T. ii.38.) it cheered his eyes. చల్లని చెయ్యగల వైద్యుడు a physician with a lucky hand. చల్లనిప్రభువు a kind master. చల్లచప్పుడు ṭsalla-ṭsappuḍu. n. A fool జడుడు. చల్లచీమ or చలిచీమ ṭsalla-chīma. n.
