(p. 114) ādi ādi. [Skt.] n. The beginning. మొదలు Also, an aim గురి. ఆదిని at the beginning, at first. ఆదిముని an ancient prophet. ఆదిశేషువు ādi-ṣēshuvu. [Skt.] n. The old dragon, who is worshipped as the supporter of the earth. ఆది, ఆదిగా ādi. n. Etcetera. వాని గృహాదులు his house, &c. మన్వాదులు Manu and others. ఉత్తరాది నుంచి వచ్చినారు they came from the north. ఉత్తరాదివాండ్లు people of the north. దక్షిణాది సరుకులు goods imported from the south. ఆదికము ādikamu. n. Etcetera. అన్నాదికములు food, &c. ఆదికొను ādi-konu. v. i. To have one's eye on కన్ను వేయు 'వృషభమున కాదికొను బెబ్బులియుంబోలె.' భార: విరాట. v. ఆద్యంతములు (ఆది+అంతము) first and last. ఆద్యంత రహితుడు He who is without origin and end. God.

(p. 373) guṭaka guṭaka. [Tel.] n. A single gulp. ఒక్కసారి మింగగలిగినంతది. గుటగుట guṭa-guṭa. adv. (Anuk of a growl, a growling sound.) Aloud. (Also of a gulping, bubbling, simmering sound) Rustingly, crashingly. 'బెబ్బులుల్ గుహలనిర్భీతి గూర్కుచుకానజిటుకన్న గుటగుటార్భటుల ' Suriya. iv. 60. గుటుకు గుటుక్కు or గుడుక్కు guṭuku. n. A gulp, a sob. గుటుక్కను or గుటుక్కుమను to sob, gulp: to die, expire. దాన్ని గుటుక్కునమింగెను he swallowed it at a gulp.

(p. 756) pimmaṭa or పిమ్మటము pimmaṭa. [Tel.] n. Stupor, grief. మూర్ఛావస్థ, అచైతన్యము, విస్మయజన్యస్తభ్ధత, మనోవ్యధ, మానుపడడము. 'బిట్టుల్కిమూర్ఛిల్లి పిమ్మటబొంది.' BD. v. 257. 'తనకు బిమ్మటమైన నర్జునునిబాహు, లీలయిమ్మెయి ద్రోవంగలేకతెగియె, నధిపయాబోతు బెబ్బులికగ్గమైన, పగిదియయ్యె బాండవులకు పగయణంగె.' M. VIII. i. 5.

(p. 762) puṇḍarīkamu punḍarīkamu. [Skt.] n. The white lotus. తెల్లతామర. A royal tiger. బెబ్బులి. పుండరీకాజినము a royal tiger's skin. పుండరీకాక్షుడు punḍarīk-ākshuḍu. n. He whose eyes are bright as the white lotus, i.e., Vishṇu, తెలిదమ్మికంటి.

(p. 773) pulipiri, pulpiri, pulipirikāya, pulipuli or పులిపులికాయ pulipiri. [Tel.] n. Callus, hard skin, callosity, as that of a wart. A wart. A villain, a scoundrel. పులిపిరికేమి నొప్పి, i.e., what feeling has a scoundrel? పులిపులి puli-puli. adj. Tormented. పీడితము. పులిపులిగాగ pulipuli-gā-ga. adv. Easily, into slices, తూలాయమానముగా. 'పులిపులిగాగబెబ్బులి పిండునొకనాడు చెదరగా నాటెనాచేతియీటె.' R. ii. 22.

(p. 784) peñcepudaṇḍa penchepu-danḍa. [Tel.] n. A sort of crook or staff. 'చుట్టినయురుద్రాడు సొంపారు చెంపగట్టిన యెద్దుల కురుచకొయ్యలును మెరుగు పెంచెపు దండ మేటిబెబ్బులులు గరవక యుండవాకట్టువదనికెలు.' Navan. D.

(p. 885) bibbōkapati or బిబ్బోకిని bbibōka-vati. n. A coquette, or a flirt, విలాసవతి. 'ఆబెబ్బులియిదెవచ్చెన్, తబ్బిబ్బులకేమిసేయుదాననుచుమన, బ్బిబ్బోకవతిమనంబున, నబ్బురమున్భయముద్రొక్కులాడగనుండన్.' S. ii. 280. 'నీ కితరభయంబురా, నీకమెలంగుదునటంచు హితముగరపిబి, బ్బోకినియతనికి వ్యయమున, కైకొంతపదార్థమిచ్చి యనిచెంబురికిన్.' Vish. ii. 339.

(p. 885) bimmaṭa , బిమ్మటము or బిమ్మటి bimmaṭa. [Tel.] n. Stupor, grief. మూర్ఛావస్థ, అచైతన్యము. వివశత, విస్మయజన్యస్తబ్ధత, మ్రానుపడుట. Doubt, suspicion, misgiving, సంకోచము. 'తనకుబిమ్మటమైననర్జునునిబాహు, లీలయిమ్మెయి ద్రోవంగలేకతెగియె, నధిపయాబోతు బెబ్బులికగ్గమైన, పగిదియయ్యె బాండవులకు పగయణంగె.' M. VIII. i. 5. adj. Being in a state of stupor, వివశము. బిమ్మిటిగొను or బిమ్మిటిపోవు bimmiṭi-gonu. v. n. To be in a state of stupor, వివశత్వమునొందు. To swoon, మూర్ఛిల్లు.

(p. 898) bebbuli beb-buli. [Tel. పెద్ద + పులి.] n. A royal tiger. కన్నెబెబ్బులి a tiger's cub. 'కన్నెలుగలయోగపట్టెధరించి, కన్నెబెబ్బులితోలుకాసెధరించి.' Sāranga. v. 22.
