(p. 34) aḍacipaḍu or అడిచిపడు aḍachipaḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be rash or precipitate. To bounce. ఆత్తపడు, మిట్టిపడు. 'దైవోపహతంబులైన కార్యంబులు సిద్ధింబొందునె యడచిపడవలదు విచారించుకొందమనుటయు.' M. X. ii. 43.

(p. 36) aḍacipaḍu aḍichi-paḍu. [Tel.] n. To be in a hurry, to be impatient. త్వరపడు. మిడిసిపడు. 'దైవోపహతంబులగు కార్యంబులు సిద్ధింబొందునె యడిచిపడవలదు.' M. X. ii. 43. 'తడవోర్వక వ్యయమోర్వక కడువేగిరమడచిపడిన కార్యంబగునే.' Sumati. 27.

(p. 168) uridi uridi. [Tel.] adj. Steady, Rapid. వడిగల. దృఢము, స్థిరము. adv. Quickly. వడిగా. 'ఖదలని నీటికి మీసము లెదు రెక్కు నెయురిదిబారు నీటికి బోలెన్ , పదవి నిరుద్యోగుల బొందదు సోద్యోగులన కానితాత్వికమఖ్యా.' N. ix. 190.

(p. 173) ūca ūṭsa. [Tel.] n. The soft core of the plantain or similar tree. బొందె. A thorn bush. ముండ్ల దుబ్బ. ఉచకోతగా గొంతుకోసి వేసినాడు he cut the throat without any trouble. ఊచ ūṭsa. adj. Withered. ఊదకాలు a withered leg. ఊచచెయ్యి a withered hand. ఊచపట్టు to grow big enough for the core in a plant to form. ఊచపోవు to become lean. కృశించు. ఊచబియ్యము ūṭsa-biyyamu. n. Grain not quite ripe. బాగుగా ముదరని జొన్నలు మొదలైనవి, ఊచముట్టు ūṭsa-muṭṭu. adv. To the core entirely, wholly. 'ఉల్లమంత గడంచి యూచముట్టుగను కల్లలాడించిన గలదెపన్నిదము.' H. D. i. 252.

(p. 223) kaṅki kanki. [Tel.] n. An ear or head of corn: a stem of corn వెన్ను. కంటివెడలని బొందు a blasted ear, one that does not sprout.

(p. 436) cēru chēru. [Tel.] v. n. To arrive, reach the destination, come to hand. To be close or in contact. To lean ఒరగు. To draw near or approach సమీపించు. To be connected with, united to. To be added, joined, included. To belong, appertain. To be assembled or collected. ఆపద్దు ఈ లెక్కలో చేరదు that item does not belong to this account. ఇది ఆ చట్టములో చేరదు this does not fall under that rule. వాకిలి చేరమూసినావా have you shut the door? తలుపుచేరదెరిచి (BD. v. 234.) setting the door ajar. చెచ్చెరనారాజు చేరంగపిలిచి calling him near or close. చేరపట్టు to bring close (as a boat to ship.) n. A string, a cord, a string of pearls or flowers. సరము, త్రాడు, గొలుసు. A row or a string of spawn in fish. ఉట్టిచేరు the cord on which a net hangs. పాలచేరులు the milk glands. కురువిందచేరులు necklaces of Kuruvinda seeds. కనకపుచేర్లు gold chains. చేరుచు or చేర్చు chēruṭsu. v. t. To touch, to lean upon, to join. శత్రువులతో చేరుకొన్నాడు he joined the enemy. చేరుగడ chēru-gaḍa. n. Nearness సమీపము. A refuge, దిక్కు, శరణము. adj. Near సమీపమైన. చేరుగొండి chēru-gonḍi. adj. Stray, strayed. Mischievous. దుష్టము, చేరుగొండి పశువు a stray cow; a wife who has been irregularly married. చేరుచుక్క or చేర్చుక్క chēru-ṭsukka. n. A jewel worn on the forehead. ముత్యాలబొట్టు, పాపటబొట్టు. చేరుడు chēruḍu. adj. Accidental, what comes by chance, not expected. చేరుడుపశువులు stray cattle. చేరుడు బియ్యము rice that is roughly pounded or bruised. చేరుపు, చేర్పు or చేరుబడి chērupu. n. Nearness, closeness, connection. చేరుపుదిమ్మ an abutment. చేరుపాటు chēru-pāṭu. n. Arrival. చేరువ or చేర్వ chēruva. n. Nearness, neighbour-hood; సమీపము. An assemblage, సమూహము, An army, host. సేన. adj. Near. సమీపమైన. చేరువకాడు chēruva-kāḍu. n. The leader of an assembly, a chairman, ఒక సమూహమునకధిపతి. A commander of an army సేనాధిపతి. సేనాధిపతి. (p. 591) diṇḍu dinḍu. [Tel.] n. A bundle, pillow, cushion or bolster. తలగడ. A belt, a girdle, దట్టి. A sheaf of corn. A bag of money. The nave or centre of a wheel: A cylinder. గుండ్రని తలగడవలె నుండుమ్రాను. Any thing cylindrical. అరిటిదిండు or అరిటిబొందె the stump of a plantain tree. adj. Much, fiercely: as దిండురుకు to rush furiously. దిండీదు dind-īdu. n. One who wears a belt. కాసెకట్టినవాడు. దిండుపడు dinḍu-paḍu. v. n. To faint, be exhausted.

(p. 691) pakke or పక్కియ pakke. [Tel.] n. The Tamarisk tree. ఝావుకః, పిచులపుచెట్టు. పక్కెచేప or బేడిసచేప pakke-chēpa. n. A sort of carp with forked bones. Some species are called బుడ్డపక్కె , మంగలపక్కె, మోరపక్కె, మాచెపక్కె, చందమామపక్కె and బొందపక్కె. H. iv. 225.

(p. 756) pimmaṭa or పిమ్మటము pimmaṭa. [Tel.] n. Stupor, grief. మూర్ఛావస్థ, అచైతన్యము, విస్మయజన్యస్తభ్ధత, మనోవ్యధ, మానుపడడము. 'బిట్టుల్కిమూర్ఛిల్లి పిమ్మటబొంది.' BD. v. 257. 'తనకు బిమ్మటమైన నర్జునునిబాహు, లీలయిమ్మెయి ద్రోవంగలేకతెగియె, నధిపయాబోతు బెబ్బులికగ్గమైన, పగిదియయ్యె బాండవులకు పగయణంగె.' M. VIII. i. 5.

(p. 760) pīku pīku. [Tel.] v. a. To pull out, root up, uproot, wrest. To tear, pull to pieces, destroy demolish. To turn out, dismiss. నాలుక పీకుకొని చచ్చెను he pulled out his tongue and so killed himself. పీకుపీకాడు pīku-pīk-āḍu. v. n. To be agitated, to be in trouble. మిక్కిలి పెరుకులాడు. 'తొంటి యుత్కృష్టత్వంబును దక్కితక్కి తగబుద్ధిం బీకుబీకాడగా, చేష్టాధీనత బొంది యగ్గురుడు సంక్షిప్తాంగుడై యున్నెడన్.' M. VII. v. 386. పీకుకొను pīku-konu. v. a. To snatch. పీకులాట pīkul-āṭa. n. A squabble, wrangle, quarrel; nonsense; a plague, scrape. పీకులాడు pīkul-āḍu. v. n. To wrangle, struggle, పెనగులాడు, లాగులాడు. A. vi. 18.

(p. 777) puste puste. [Tel.] n. The mark of marriage, being a small gold disc worn round the neck by married women. తాళిబొట్టు. See మంగళసూత్రము, Any charmed bead, though worn on the wrist. పుస్తెబొందు the tali string. పుస్తెముడుపు puste-mudupu. n. A woman married a second time, కంటెబొట్టు. పుస్తెముడుపు కట్టు to marry in an irregular fashion.

(p. 801) pondu or ఒందు pondu. [Tel.] v. n. To wink, (కన్ను) వాలు. To gain, obtain, get, acquire. To reach, attain to. To have, enjoy. To suffer, experience, meet with joy, grief or death, &c. ప్రాపించు. వానిని లక్ష్మిపొందినది good luck has be fallen him. అవమానమును పొందినాడు he incurred disgrace. సంతోషమును పొందినాడు he was pleased. నష్టమును పొందినాడు he incurred loss. విఘ్నమొందక meeting with no obstacle or cheek. నరకమును పొందినాడు he fell into hell. కన్నుపొందు to sleep. 'ఆ కడుపు నిండగుడువ గానమిరేయెల్ల, గన్నుపొందకున్న కరముడస్సి, యున్నవాడనాకు.' M. I. vi. 322. కన్నుపొందకున్న, అనగా నిద్రలేకుండా ఉండడముచేత. Also, to have intercourse with. కలయు. n. Fitness. suitability, agreement. పొందిక intercourse, friendship, స్నేహము. Joining, union, సంధి. The act of obtaining a thing ప్రాప్తి. Sameness, want of difference, అభేదము. Agreeableness, అనుకూల్యము. adj. Friendly, స్నేహితుడు. 'రాలపొందెరింగి రాలగూర్చినభంగిలోను పొందెరింగిలోనుపరచి.' Vēma. 637. పొందుకాడు ponḍu-kāḍu. n. A friend, స్నేహితుడు. పొందుకొను pondu-konu. v. n. To be fixed or established, నెలకొను. పొందుపడు pondu-paḍu. v. n. To be agreeable or fit, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. పొందుపాటు ponda-pāṭu. n. Convenience, suitability, aid, help. వానికి ఆ రూకలు పొందుపాటు కాలేదు he could not get the money. పొందుపాటుచేయు to arrange, అనుకూలముచేయు. పొందించు pondinṭsu. To cause to obtain, get, or experience. నన్ను ఈ శ్రమ పొందించినారు they caused me this trouble. 'మగువత నంబునజగముల తగులము బొందింప గొంతదడవెముకుందా.' B. viii. 446. పొందిక pondika. n., Fitness, agreement, aptness. ఇమిడిక. Intercourse, సహవాసము, కలయిక. 'సీతాకాంతముని స్త్రీల పొందిక లుమరగి.' R. v. 59.

(p. 828) pratina pratina. [from Skt. ప్రతిజ్ఞ.] n. A vow, determination. ప్రతిజ్ఞ, పంతము. 'నేడుదుశ్శాసనుని నెత్తురనిలసుతుడు, మదమున ద్రావుటజూచికొరత, ప్రతినదీర్చునతండనిభయము బొంది.' M. IX. i. 74.

(p. 903) boṇḍa, boṇḍamānu or బొండకొయ్య bonḍa. [Tel.] n. The stocks or light fetters of wood. బొందమువేయు or బొండనుకొట్టు to put in the stocks. 'భేదమనెడు బొండ బెరసియుండు.' Vema.
