To interpose, to help; to obstruct, impede. విఘూతమగు, వారించు. నా పనికి అడ్డుపడ్డాడు he threw obstacles in my way. భార్యను కొట్టబోతే కొడుకు అడ్డుపడినాడు as he was going to strike his wife his son interposed. నేనడ్డపడకపోతే వాండ్లు వత్తురు had I not interposed they would have died. అడ్డపాటు aḍḍa-pāṭu. [Tel.] n. Obstacle, hindrance, obstruction. అడ్డి, విఘ్నము. అడ్డబాస aḍḍa-bāsa. n. A nose jewel. బులాకి. అడ్డబొట్టు aḍḍa-boṭṭu. A cross mark worn by the Hindus on their fore-head. అడ్డమాను aḍḍa-mānu. A cross bar. వాడు అడ్డవాట్లు వేస్తున్నాడు he throws impediments in the way.

(p. 117) ābōtu ā-bōtu. [Tel. ఆవు+పోతు.] n. A bull. ఆబోతును విడుచుట to release a bull at a man's funeral (this being a prescribed rite.) ఆబోతురౌతు one who rides on an ox, Siva.

(p. 124) ālapōtu āla-pōtu. [Tel. ఆల = ఆవుల] A bull. ఆబోతు.

(p. 146) īrṣya īrshya. [Skt.] n. Spite, envy, ill will, malice, intolerance. ఓర్వలేనితనము. ఈర్ష్యాళువు īrshyāḷuvu. n. An envious man. An intolerant person. ఉడుకుబోతు.

(p. 152) uḍuku uḍuku. [Tel.] v. n. To boil, to bubble with heat, to seethe. To be hot, feverish from heat, to boil with rage. ఉడుకు uḍuku. n. Boiling, ebullition, bubbling, heat. తాపము. ఉడుకు uḍuku adj. Hot. ఉడుకుబోతు uḍuku-bōtu. [Tel. ఉడుకు+పోతు] n. An envious wretch ఓర్వలేనివాడు, ఈర్ష్యాళువు. ఉడికించు uḍikinṭsu. v. t. A limit, a boundary. ఎల్ల. గడికొల్లలు plundering on the borders. గడినేలలు boundary lands. గడిమెకము a cunning animal which evades the hunter వేటకుచిక్కని మృగము. గడితేరు to be expert, నిపుణుడగు, కడలేరు. plu. గళ్లు. గళ్లుచేయు to mark the boundaries. గడి gaḍi. n. (p. 520) tāgu or త్రాగు tāgu. [Tel.] v. a. To drink. చుట్టతాగు to smoke a cigar. తాగించు tāginṭsu. v. a. To cause to drink. తాగునట్లుచేయు. తాగుబోతు tāgu-bōtu. n. A drunkard.

A helper or companion. తోడుత or తోడ్త tōḍuta. adv. With, along with. తోడను, తోడుతోడ, తోడ్తోడ, తోడుతో or తోడ్తో tōḍu-tōḍa. adv. Immediately, at once, therewith, together. వెంబడిని. తోడుదొంగ tōḍu-donga. n. An accomplice. తోడునీడ tōḍu-nīḍa. n. Aid and protection.
