(p. 157) udaramu udaramu. [Skt.] n. The belly, the centre; లంబోదరుడు the corpulent being, a title of Gaṇēsa. ఉదరపోషకుడు a glutton, one who cares chiefly to fill his belly. ఉదరపోషణము udara-pōshaṇamu. n. Nourishing the belly, livelihood.

A frog. ఉరుకుకప్ప or చిరికప్ప a chunam frog or flying frog. బోదురుకప్ప the bull frog. తలకప్ప a tadpole. బాపనకప్ప a frog that in croaking produces a sound like పప్పు పప్పు. కంసాలికప్ప one that produces a sound like tick, tuck. చాకలికప్ప one that produces a sound like ugm, ugm. రాచకప్ప and గోదురుకప్ప are other species. Various species of fish are called కప్పలు. See Russell, plates 19 to 20. కప్పకురుపు kappa-kurupu. n. An abscess in the heel. కప్పచిప్ప kappa-chippa. n. A bivalve shell. నీటిగుల్ల.

(p. 351) gaṭṭi gaṭṭi. [Tel.] adj. Hard, firm, strong, substantial. Tight. Able, clever, expert. Brave, courageous, resolute, smart, fine. Loud. గట్టిచెర close imprisonment. గట్టిబొట్టు Full sunna, or the circle -- Appa C. ii. 27. గట్టిమోపుగానుండేదారి a very heavy road. గట్టించు gaṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To load a gun, to beat into a hard mass. గట్టనచేయు. గట్టిగా or ఘట్టిగా gaṭṭi-gā. adv. Well, strongly. Properly, tight, fast. Eminently, especially, seriously, greatly. Loudly, aloud. గట్టిగా రావలసినది you must positively come. గట్టిగా చదువు read aloud. ఇల్లు గట్టిగానున్నది the house is in good condition or is solid-built. గట్టిచేయు gaṭṭi-chēyu. v. a. To make firm. పాఠము గట్టిచేయు to get a lesson by heart. వాడు ఇస్తానన్నమాటను గట్టిచేయుము you should make him keep his promise. గట్టితనము gaṭṭi-tanamu. n. Cleverness, ability. గట్టినాణెము gaṭṭi-nāṇemu. n. Bullion. గట్టినబోది gaṭṭina-bōdi. n. A game played by boys. కాళ. iii. గట్టివ gaṭṭiva. [గట్టి+వాయి.] n. An isolent man. ధూర్తుడు. గట్టివాడు gaṭṭi-vāḍu. n. An able or skilful man. సమర్థుడు. గట్టివాయి gaṭṭi-vāyi. n. A brawling woman. గయ్యాళి, ధూర్తురాలు.

(p. 738) pādiri pādiri. [Fr. Padrè, Eng. Father.] n. A Romish priest. A missionary, or clergyman, గురువు, క్రీస్తుమతబోదకుడైన గురువు.

(p. 760) pīcu pīṭsu. [Tel.] n. The fibre of plants. వారికి మాకు ఉండే సంబంధము బీరకాయపీచుగానున్నది our relations are not strong at all. Also, used for grass or straw as బోదపీచు hill grass. 'పీచుమీసంబులుబ్బిన యుల్లిగడ్డంబు.' HK. iv. 82.

(p. 911) bōda bōda. [Tel.] adj. Swollen, as a leg. బోదకాలు a swollen diseased leg. 'వ్రేలడగు బొజ్జగలబోదకాలివాని.' A. vi. 22. బోదచరచు to swell. 'పొడచెదరి బోదచరచిన యొడళ్లతో.' Swa. iv. 21. టీ బోదచరచచిన, ఏకరీతిగా బలగినటువంటి. n. The young or chick of a bird or tree. పక్షిపిల్ల. రాయంచబోదలు, రాజహంసయొక్క కొదములు. 'ఎగుబోదలైగూడుదిగనాడి పెదమ్రాకులెక్కనారసి యుత్సహింపలేదు. P. i. 291. ఎగుబోదలై, పెద్దపిల్లలై, అనగా ఎగసేమాత్రపు పిల్లలనుట.' దైవికంబునగూడు దప్పినేలనుబడ్డ రాచిల్కబోదల బ్రోచుపిల్లి. (p. 911) bōdu bōdu. [Tel.] n. The sacking in which oil bottles are packed on a bullock, సాగరముమోసే యెద్దుకుగంతమీదవేసేది. A sack. గోనె.

(p. 911) bōde , or బోదియ bōde. [Tel.] n. The trunk of a tree, ప్రకాండము. The bulging part of anything. The pediment or chapter of a pillar, స్తంభముమీద దూలముకిందనుండేది. Also, a runnel or small channel for watering trees. మళ్లకుకట్టేకాలువ. 'పూచిన యొక్క పోకమనుబోదియజేరి.' Swa. ii. 33. 'అరుగులుసున్నంపుటెరమంటి పట్టెలుతీర్చినగోడలుతేజరిల్ల. నిండుసున్న పుపూతనెరచాలుబోదెలు దిద్దినదేవరమిద్దెవర.' H. i. 167. 'మిద్దెలో బోదియమీదనున్న తలపొందుగదీసుకరమ్మటంచు.' ib. i.224. బోదెకొయ్య a piece of wood for a doorstep, గడపకిందికమ్మి.

(p. 911) bōdha or బోధము bōdha. [Skt.] n. Wisdom, intellect, understanding, awaking, arousing; teaching, instruction, doctrine, తెలియడము, తెలివి, జ్ఞానము. 'బోధకళమాన్పెన్ మోహవిభ్రాంతి.' Swa. ii. 37. టీ బోదకళ, నిరంతరజాగ్రత. 'పుత్రకునివాక్య విస్ఫురద్బోధమునకు, తల్లిదండ్రులు సంతోషముల్లసిల్ల.' H. i. 208. బోధకుడు bōdhakuḍu. n. A teacher, preacher, instructor: బోధించువాడు, ఉపాధ్యాయడు, గురువు. బోధపడు bōdha-paḍu. v. n. To be known, to be understood, to become intelligible. ఆకళింతకువచ్చు. అది నాకు బోధపడినది or బోధఅయినది I understand it. బోధపరుచు bōdha-paruṭsu. v. a. To teach, explain, or make intelligible. బోధన or బోధనము bōdhana. n. Teaching, informing, awaking, arousing, counsel. వాని బోధన వినవద్దు I do not listen to his counsel. బోధ్యము or బోధనీయము bōdhyamu. adj. Fit to be taught. బోధింపదగిన. బోధించు or బోధచేయు bōdhinṭsu. v. a. To teach, to explain, to inform, తెలియజేయు. To persuade, advise, admonish, induce, నేర్పు వానికి బోధచేసేశక్తి లేదు he is unable to convey his knowledge, i.e., to teach. బోధితుడు bōdhituḍu. n.
