(p. 16) amba amba [Skt.] n. Mother; a name of Durga. తల్లి, పార్వతి. అంబాత్రయము = జ్ఞానాంబ, భ్రమరాంబ, మాకాంబ.

(p. 21) akṣi akshi. [Skt.] n. An eye. కన్ను. మదిరాక్షి a woman: (lit.) she who is tipsy eyed. అక్షితార, the pupil of the eye. అక్షిపక్ష్మము, the eye-lash, రెప్పవెండ్రుకలు, అక్షిపటలము a coat of the eye. అక్షిభ్రువము = the eyebrow, అక్షిగోళము akshi-gōḷamu. [Skt.] n. The eyeball.

(p. 24) agastyuḍu agastyuḍu. [Skt.] n. Name of a certain sage. కుంభసంభవుడు. అగస్త్యశాకము the leaves of a leguminous tree which are dressed and eaten, అనిసెచెట్టు; అగస్త్యనక్షత్రము the star Canopus. అగస్త్యచారము the cource of Canopus. అగస్త్యాదయము the rise of Canopus. అగస్త్యభ్రాత (lit: the brother of Agastya.) a new-comer, who tries to make out that he is a great personage.

(p. 110) ajavañjavamu āja-vanjavamu. [Skt.] n. The world, earthly ties. A family. సంసారము. 'ఆజవంజవభ్రమాతీత మార్గుడై.' (Chenn. iv. 132.) He who is freed from earthly ties. అజవంజవమానమాలిన్యము worldy defilement.

(p. 42) adabhramu adabhramu. [Skt.] adj. Much, many. విస్తారమైన, మెండు.

(p. 62) apabhraṃśamu apa-bhramṣamu. [Skt.] n. Common vulgar talk; a low term. గ్రామ్యభాష, అపశబ్దము.

(p. 66) aprāśyuḍu a-prāṣyuḍu. [Skt.] n. An outcaste, he who is not fit to eat with others. అపాజ్తేయుడు, భ్రష్టుడు.

(p. 73) abhrakamu abhrakamu. [Skt.] n. Tale, Mica. భూమిలో నుండు అద్దపు పెంకులవంటి వస్తువు. కాకి బంగారము.

(p. 73) abhramu abhramu. [Skt.] n. The sky, a cloud. ఆకాశము, మేఘము. అభ్రంకషము heaven-kissing, sky-touching. అభ్రగము abhragamu. [Skt.] n. A sky-rover, i.e., a bird. పక్షి. అభ్రగపతి the eagle as being the king of birds. గరుడుడు. అభ్రమణి abhra-maṇi. [Skt.] n. The gem of the sky, i.e., the sun. సూర్యుడు.

(p. 79) aramōḍcu ara-mōḍṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To half close. సగముమూయు. అరమోడ్పు adj. Half closed. సగముమూసి కొన్న. 'అరమోడ్పుకనుదోయి రసపారవశ్యవిభ్రమము దెలుప.' T. iv. 79.

(p. 81) arimuri ari-muri. [Tel.] adv. Much, exceedingly, greatly. Quickly, hastily. One after another, repeatedly. అత్యంతము, మిక్కిలి, త్వరగా, శ్రీఘ్రముగా, ఒకటివెంట నొకటి, మాటిమాటికి, ముందువెనుక. 'పౌరుషంబరిమురిగ్రాల పింగళకుడన్మృగరాజు చరించునచ్చటన్.' P. i. 107. అరిమురితనము ari-muri-tanamu. n. Haste, hurry. ఆత్రము. అరిమురిని in haste. ఆత్రపడి 'మరికదాశివునకు మాకునంకంబు, అరిమురితనమిప్పుడదియేలననుచు.' BD. iv. 1747. అరిమురిపడు ari-muri-paḍu. v. i. To hasten. సంభ్రమించు.

(p. 111) āṭōpamu āṭōpamu. [Skt.] n. Hastiness: excess, pride. సంభ్రమము, వేగిరపాటు, రభసము, ఆడంబరము, ఔద్ధత్యము, తొందర.

(p. 167) urabhramu Same as ఉరణము.

(p. 174) ūṭa ūṭa. [Tel from ఊరు] n. Juice, sap. A fountain, a spring as of water. Marrow. ఎముక ఊట. Pickling liquor. strength. బలము, చేప. ఊటకల్లు ūṭa-kallu. n. A grain like అళ్లు. ఊటగుండు ūṭā-guṇḍu. n. The stone to which a weaver fastens the cross sticks on which he stretches his web. ఊటనీరు ūṭa-nīru. n. A gushing spring. ఊటపుట్టు. ūṭa-puṭṭu. v. n. To spring (as water.) ఊటబుడ్డిచెక్క ūṭa-buḍḍi-chekka. n. Wood that is strong and durable for building purposes. ఊటయెత్తు ūṭa-yettu. v. n. To be damp. ఊట యెత్తిన damp, moist. ఆ చెట్లు ఊట యెత్తిపోయినవి these trees have been injured by excessive moisture. ఊటయెత్తిన యిల్లు a damp house. ఊటగల heavy, abounding springs. సత్తువగల, బరువైన. ఊటగలకర్ర a heavy piece of wood. ఊటాడు ūṭāḍu. (ఊట+ఆడు) v. n. To shake, totter, waver, be agitated. చలించు, సంభ్రమించు. ఊటాడించు. (Vasu. iv. 159.) to shake కదల్చు, ఆడించు, అల్లలాడించు.

(p. 210) odaru odaru. [Tel.] v. i. To excel, increase, to be proud, to rejoice, విజృంభించు, సంభ్రమించు. v. t. To blame నిందించు. ఒదరుచు or ఒదర్చు odarutsu. v. t. To detach, separate ఊడదీయు.
