(p. 947) mattamu mattamu. [Skt.] adj. Intoxicated, drunk, tipsy. Infatuated, wanton, lustful. Mad, insane. Proud, gay, merry. మత్తగజము, మత్తవారణము or మత్తేభము an elephant in rut. మత్తచకోరము the amorous dove, the lovelorn nightingale. మత్తకాశిని or మత్తకాసిని matta-kāṣini. n. A wanton woman. మదించిన స్త్రీ. మత్తకోకిల matta-kōkila. n. The name of a certain Telugu metre. మత్తి matti. n. Intoxication, amorous desire. కామము. మత్తికాడు matti-kāḍu. n. A lewd wretch. కాముకుడు. Obscurity, darkness, dimness, laziness, dullness, heaviness, మాంద్యము, చీకటి. కనుమబ్బు dimness of sight. వాని చెవులకు మబ్బువచ్చెను his ears are dull of hearing. నిద్రమబ్బు drowsiness or heaviness. ఆ సంగతికి మబ్బు తాళము వేసినాడు he eluded or evaded the question. మబ్బుమందారముగానుండే దినాలు cloudy days. మబ్బురంగు a dark tint in colour, మేఘవర్ణము. మబ్బు కొను mabbu-konu. v. n.
