High, elevated; raised (as ground), jutting out (as teeth.). మిట్టపండ్లు projecting teeth. మిట్టపల్లములు ups and downs, uneven ground. మిట్టమధ్యాహ్నము high noon. మిట్టవరహా a kind of gold pagoda worth four rupees. మిట్టమిర్రు (మిర్రు + మిర్రు.) very high ground, అత్యున్నతభూమి. 'ఏటికాల్వ మిట్ట మిర్రుగాద్రవ్వి.' HD. i. మిట్టు or మిట్టించు miṭṭu. v. n. To fly, ఎగురు. మిట్టాడు miṭṭ-āḍu. (మిట్టి + ఆడు.) v. n. To roam, to walk about. సంచరించు. 'మనుజులుమిట్టాడని యొకఘనగహనము.' Sharp, hot, తీక్ష్ణము. మిడిమాధ్యాహ్నము midday, noon. మిడిముళ్లు spurs. మిడికించు miḍi-kinṭsu. v. n. To blink (the eyes), మిణకరించు. 'కమలుమిడికించునుగుడ్లగూబరీతి.' S. iii. 32. blinking like an owl. మిడిగుడ్లు miḍi-guḍlu. n. Large prominent eyes. మిడిగుడ్లవాడు a man with large eyes. మిడిగొను miḍi-gonu. v. n. To glitter, to flash. మెరయు. To be an exception, తక్కు. To avoid, తొలగు. 'మిగులనొచ్చియు వాడు మిడివోనికడిమి.' HD. i. 2019. మిడినల్లి or మిణ్నల్లి miḍi-nalli. n. A flea. మిడిమేలుపు miḍi-mēlapu. adj. Pragmatic, hot headed, haughty. తలకొట్లమారియైన. తలకొవ్విన. 'అడిగినజీతంబియ్యని మిడిమేలపుదొరనుగొలిచి మిడుకుటకంటెన్. వడిగలయెద్దులగట్టుక మడిదున్నుక బ్రతుకవచ్చు మహిలోసుమతీ.' Sumati Satakam. మిడిమేలము miḍi-mēlamu. n. Insolence, haughtiness, మిడసిపాటు. 'మగువలుమగలని యెరుగడు, మృగములకోరసిలడేమి మిడిమేలమితండగపడుననితలచితిమే.' R. ii. 112. మిడియ miḍiya. n. A word of the Veda, వేద వాక్యము. 'క తలచియపుడందొకింతయు దొలుతటితరవాతి మిడియదోచకమరియె వ్వలనరసినశ్రుతిశబ్దము పలకునకున్ రాక పెగడుపరచినగలకన్.' పర. ii. మిడియు miḍiyu. v. n. To flash or fly off as a chip of wood or a drop of water. ఎగురు. ఆ రాతిచెక్క మిడిసిపడినది the chip of the stone leaped out and fell down. మిడివిల్లు miḍi-villu. n. A pellet bow, ఉండవిల్లు. 'తడియుచుకైతవతరుణియెక్కిన మిడివింటిగతినున్న మెలతలుడాసి.' Dab. 170. మిడిసిపడు miḍisi-paḍu. v. n. To bounce, leap; to be insolent, మిట్టిపడు, త్రుళ్లిపడు. మిడిసిపడి చచ్చినాడు he suddenly fell down dead. మిడిసిపాటు miḍisi-pāṭu. n. Bouncing, exultation, pride, త్రుళ్లుట.

(p. 989) mīḍu mīdu. [Tel.] n. The upper surface; top, head. ఉపరిభాగము, ఊర్ధ్వము. Futurity. భవిష్యత్కాలము. What is vowed, or set aside for sacrifice, దేవతకు నియమించిన ముడుపు. That which is next, the next thing, పరము. మీదుకట్టు mīdu-kaṭṭu. v. a. To devote, sanctify, set aside in the name of God. మీద or మీదను mīda. postposition. (Irreg. infl. of మిదు. See మీది.) adj. Subsequent. ఆమీదటిపనులు the subsequent acts. మీదటికి mīdaṭiki. adv. In future, next year. మీదటికి వానలేకుంటే if there should be no rain next year. మీది mīdi. (infl. of మీదు) adj. Upper, higher, the next, above, on. మిదికొమ్మ the top branch. నా మిది ప్రేమ (her or his) love towards me మీది మాట the next word. మీదిపనులు what is to be done afterwards. మీదిమన్ను the upper layer of earth. మీదిగుడ్లు staring eyes: (as in the song దొప్పచెవులు, దోసెకడుపు, మిట్టనొసలు, మీదిగుడ్లు.) దాని మీది సొమ్ములు the jewels which were on her. పాలమిదిమీగడ the cream upon milk. మీదికి mīdiki. (Dative of మీదు) Upon, against. ఆదండు ఏఊరిమీదికి పోయినది against which village is the army gone? ఆ తప్పు మామీదికి వచ్చినది that fault was laid upon us. మీదుమిక్కిలి mīdu-mikkili. adj. Very much, కడు మిక్కిలి.

(p. 1081) ruvāramu ruvāramu. [Tel.] n. Beauty, elegance, grace. అందము, సొగసు. 'నీటి కాగులలోన నీడజూచి రువారమిట్టారయనచాదు బొట్టమర్చు.' S. iii. 323. రువారపు ruvārapu. adj. Beautiful, elegant, graceful. అందమైన, సొగసైన. 'ఇంతీపూబోణులమే, ల్బంతీచేమంతివిరి రువారపుబంతీ, కంతుని పట్టపుదంతీ.' Ila. iv. 81.

(p. 1110) loṭṭa loṭṭa. [Tel.] n. A smack or cluck with the tongue. Hollowness of the eyes of cheeks. Low ground, a pit, పల్లము. ఆముదపులొట్ట the dried stem of the castor oil plant. adj. Sunken, hollow. Dried up, wasted away (as an eye), అణగిగుంటగానుండే. మిట్టపండ్లునుపెనులొట్టకన్గవయును.' Jagannad. i. 54. లొట్టకన్నుజిట్ట loṭṭa-kannu-jiṭṭa. n. The bird called Prinia socialis. See జిట్ట. లొట్టపోవు loṭṭa-pōvu. v. n. To be sunken, అణగు. To be injured. వానికన్ను లొట్టపోయినది his eye is injured. చావుతప్పి కన్ను లొట్టపోయినది (proverb) he escaped death but his eye is injured. చ లొట్టవేయు lotṭa-veyu. v. n. To click or smack the tongue against the palate. దేనినైనను తిని నాలుకతో చప్పుడుచేయు. లొటతాటకత్తె loṭa-tāṭa-katte. n. A cunning wench, a deceitful woman మాయలమారి. 'వెడలిపోజూచెదో వేసాలుపన్నిలోకంబులోలేని లొటతాటకత్తె.' HD. 1901.

(p. 1111) lolla lolla. [Tel.] n. A drag, a sort of harrow or rake drawn by oxen. పొలము మిట్టపల్లములు లేకుండా సరిదేబల్ల.

(p. 1159) vāluga or వాలువ vāluga. [Tel.] n. A kind of fish. A fish in general. చేప. The name vāluga is given to two or three kinds of fish, which are scaleless, rank and oily. Thus, వాలుగచేప is a sea-fish, Trichivurus lepturus. See Russell, plate 165. Another vāluga is a fresh water fish, found in tanks but oftener in rivers. Another is a species of Silurus (Russell, plate 165.) ముల్లువాలుగ is the Cat fish, which is nearly globular, and is covered with prickles. వాలుగకంటి valuga-kanṭi. n. A beautiful eyed woman, a woman whose eyes are as beautiful as those of a fish. వాలుగటెంకి a sort of Scale-fish. Russell, plates 3 and 10. Rhinobatus læris. (Jerdon.) వాలుగపాము a certain venomous water snake. 'వాలుగమీలుమిట్టిపడగ.' S. iii. 291. 'కొర్రమీనుల తండ్రి కొలుపులెంకలకిచ్చె వాలుగలనుసంగడీలకిచ్చె.' G. i. 111. వాలుగడాలు, (మీనకేతనుడు) is a title of Manmatha whose banner is a fish.

(p. 1300) samamu samamu. [Skt.] adj. Like, alike, similar, same, equal, even, smooth, level. Impartial, free from passion, equable. సమానమైన, తుల్యమైన, సదృశమైన, అవిషమమైన, బేసికాని, మిట్టపల్లములేకుండా ఉండే. సమసంఖ్య a round or even sum. సమదృష్టిగలవాడు one who is equitable or impartial. n. Equality, evenness, తుల్యత, అవిషమత. A year, సంవత్సరము. 'అభూపతియేకషష్టిసమముల్ పూర్ణేందుబింబాస్యతోన్.' Vish. vi. 76. సమము చేయు samamu-chēyu. v. a. To level or equalise. మిట్ట పల్లములేక సరుదు, ఈడుచేయు. సమచతురస్రము sama-chatur-asramu. adj. Four square. చచ్చాకమైన. సమత or సమత్వము samata. n. Equality, similarity, sameness. తుల్యత, సమదర్శి sama-darṣi. n. One who regards all things alike, an impartial man. సర్వభూతములను సమముగా చూచువాడు. సమదృష్టి sama-dṛishṭi. n. An impartial attitude, considering all things alike. సర్వభూతములను సమముగా చూచుచూపు. సమపదము sama-padamu. n. Standing with the two legs on the same line, as an archer. విలుకాడు రెండుకాళ్లతో సమముగా నిలుచుట. సమరసము sama-rasamu. n. Equality, uniformity, Familiarity, fellowship. Kindness, amicableness, సమానరాగగము, సమాధానము. వారిప్పుడు సమరసముగా నున్నారు they are now on good terms. సమవర్తి sama-varti. n. One who treats all alike. అంతట సమముగా వర్తించువాడు. A name of Yama the King of Hell.యముడు. P. iv. 398. సమసుప్తి sama-supti. n. Lit. an equal or universal sleep. The end of a Kalpa or Age; the destruction of the world, యుగాంతము. 'సమసుప్తిబొందించిజగముల ద్రుంచి.' BD. v. 27. సమాంశములు sam-āmṣamulu. n. plu. Equality of parts, equal proportions, తుల్యభాగములు. సముడు samuḍu. n. He who resembles, సదృశుడు.

(p. 1309) sari sari. [from Skt. సదృశః.] n. The end. అంతము. Similarity, likeness. సామ్యము, సమానము, సమము. Propriety, fitness, యుక్తము. [From Skt. సరః.] n. A garland, wreath. హారము. See also సరియ. ఆ వంశము ఇతనతో సరి that family terminates with him. సరిలేని మాణిక్యము a matchless gem. పెలసరికి at the end of the month. నెలసరికి up to that day. నీకు నాకు సరి there is an end of everything between us. సరికాని వారు those who are not equals. 'సరికాని వారితో సరసమాడెడువాని.' (Kālahas. §. 66.) he who takes liberties with such as are not his equals. సరికానిపని improper behaviour or conduct. సరికిసరి tit for tat. గోధుములు బియ్యానికి గోధుములు బియ్యానికి సరికిసరి ఇస్తారు they barter wheat for an equal quantity of rice.సరికిసరి చేసినాడు he repaid them according to what they had done. సరి. adj. Equal, like. సమము, ఈడైన. Just, right, proper, fit, correct, suitable, యుక్తమైన, తగిన, Corresponding to. Even, level, not odd, మిట్టపల్లములులేని. Ended, finished, సమాప్తము. అతనికి సరిలేడు he has no equal. రాత్రి అయినా సరే పగలు అయినా సరే be it day or be it night. ఇది సరికాదు this is not right. ఈ ఉత్సవము నేటితో సరి this feast is finished with this day. adv. Equally. సమానముగా, సరిగా. Fully, పూర్ణముగా. 'జలధి తోజలధియు సరిబోరుకరణి.' DRY. 2224. 'సరిబల్కుమని యదల్చు.' T. iii. 143. సరి (interj.) Well! Yes! very well! very good! Aha! Aha! Oh! బాగాయె; అంగీకారార్థము. సరికట్టు sari-kaṭṭu. v. n. To be equal or similar. దృష్టాంమగు. v. a. To attempt, యత్నించు. See సరిపడు below. సరికడచు sari-kaḍaṭsu. v. n. To exceed, excel. ముందుమించు, మీరు, అతిక్రమించు. సరిగా sari-gā. adv. Equally, abreast, properly, rightly, correctly, in good order, completely, fully. సమముగా, ౛తగా, ౛ోడుగా, యుక్తముగా, న్యాయముగా, క్రమముగా, సంపూర్ణముగా, ఆ రెండు పల్లకీలు సరిగా వచ్చుచుండెను the two palanquins were coming on abreast. సరిగెఅల్పులు sari-gelpulu. n. Quits (at dice or games), సమానమైన జయములు. సరిగొను sari-gonu. v. a. To resemble. సమానమగు. To kill, destroy. చంపు, రూపుమాపు. M. VII. iv. 277. సీ సరియన్న విరిపొన్న సరిగొన్నగరిమచేగంభీ రమగునాభిగాంచుదాని.' T. iv. 62. సరిచేయు ari-chēyu. v. a. To arrange or put in order, to put straight, to level or make even. To complete, end or finish. To equalize, క్రమపరచు, వంకర లేకుండా చేయు, మిట్టపల్లములు లేకుండా చేయు, ముగించు, సమానము చేయు. To ruin, నాశముచేయు, సరిచూచు sari-ṭsūṭsu. v. a. To compare, review, collate. సంప్రతించు, సరిగానుండజూచు. సరితూగు sari-tūgu. v. a. To counterbalance, to be equal in weight, to be equal. సమానమగు. సరిపడు, సరితాకు or సరికట్టు sari-paḍu. v. n. 'గుళ్లుదాగుడుముచ్చిళ్లు గోలిపెట్టెలేలపాటలు, సరిబేసు లీలకూతలాదిగాశైశవక్రీడలాడి.' Vish. vii. 212. సరియగు sari-y-agu. v. n. To become equal, సమానమగు, to be destroyed, నశించు. సరియైన sari-y-aina. adj. Equal, like; just, right, proper, fit. Corresponding to. Level, straight; even, not odd. సమమైన, యుక్తమైన, తగిన, నూటియైన, ఈడైన, అవిషయమైన, మిట్టపల్లములు లేని. సరిలేని sari-lēni. adj.
