To suffer or meet with (joy, grief, death, &c.) చెయ్యి చాచి పుచ్చుకొను, పొందు. అరుదందు feel surprise.భయమందు to be afraid. జన్మమందు to be born. వియ్యమందు to intermarry. అందిచూచు to peep, to look over a wall, &c. దుఃఖమందు to be sorry. కృతి అందినవాడు he to whom it is dedicated కంపమందు to be afraid. మిన్నందిన sky-high, reaching to the clouds. అందిపొందినవారు distant kinsfolk. అందించు [causal of అందు to reach.] v. t. To give, hand over, to enable to get.

(p. 200) ēmi or ఏమీ ēmi. [Tel.] pron. What. నాదగ్గిర యేమిన్ని లేదు. I have nothing with me. వాడు ఏమయినాడు what has become of him? ఇంక చేయవలసినది మరి యేమి లేదు nothing further remains to be done. ఏమైనా ఉండును there may be something. నేనిక్కడ ఉండడమువల్ల ఫలమేమి what is the good of my staying here? సోమ్ము ఏమిన్ని పోలేదు nothing has been lost. ఏమికతంబున (i.e. ఎందునిమిత్తము) for what reason. వాడేమి నేనేమి అంతా ఒక్కటే either he or I, there is no difference. వచ్చినాడా యేమి has he come? నా తండ్రియేమి నేనేమి both my father and I, my father as well as I. ఎవ్వడైనానేమి no matter who it is. అదియేమి యిదియేమి either this or that. ఆ యిల్లు మీకు చాలకయేమి what do you mean by saying the house is too small for you? వాడు రాకయేమి why should he not come? surely, he will? ఏమివచ్చినావు what have you come for? కుక్క యేమి మొరుగుచున్నది how the dog barks! వాడు ఏమిన్ని యేడవలేదు he did not weep at all. ఏమిటి ēmiṭi. pron. & adj. What, of which, what kind of. అదేమిటి what's that? ఏమిటో I don't know what that is వాడు ఏమిటివాడు of what caste is he? ఏమిటికి wherefore, for what reason. ఏమిటికో I know not why. ఏమిన్ని anything whatever. ఏమిన్ని యివ్వడు he will give nothing. ఏమొ or ఏమో ēmo. (ఏమి with ō added for doubt.) I know not what. రాలేదేమో perhaps they did not come.

(p. 213) oragu or ఒరుగు oragu. [Tel.] v. n. To lean, bend, bow down, slant, be inclined, recline or lie down, to be weighed down, as scales. వంగు, వాలు. ఒరగి crouching, hiding. పడవ ఒరిగెను the boat leant on one side. ఒరిగి పడినాడు he tumbled down. మిన్నొరిగినట్లు crashingly, suddenly, as though the skies were falling, ఆ లెక్కను నామీద నొరగదోసినాడు he got that debt charged against me. ఒరగు n. Crookedness వంపు. ఒరగు, ఒరగుదిండు, ఒరగుడుదిండు, or ఒరగుబిళ్ల a cushion or large pillow to lean against. adj. Crooked వంపైన. ఒరగుపోవు or ఒరగబడు Same as ఒరగు. q.v.

(p. 248) karaṅkamu karankamu. [Skt.] n. A skeleton. లోపల యేమిన్నిలేని బోలుచిప్ప. The breast డొక్క. The head తల. A roll of betel. తాంబూలపుబిడా.

(p. 302) kūkuḍuvatti kūkuḍu-vatti. [Tel.] n. Gossamer. కూకుడువత్తులయ్యె it was driven away like gossamer, i.e. piecemeal, bit by bit. నలినూకలు, తుత్తుమురు. 'కుంభిరదప్రహారముల కూకుడువత్తులనైనమిన్ను విశ్వంభరగూలునన్,' P. i. 50. See also L. iii. 139. and P. ii. 104.

(Vizag.) గుల్లకాసు a farthing: (lit. a shell) or a penny. గుల్లసున్నము shell lime. చింతగుల్ల tamarinds in the shell or husk. గుల్లాగుట్ర trash, rubbish, gewgaws. adj. Hollow, empty. బోలు. గుల్లకర్ర a tube. ఇల్లు గుల్లచేసినాడు or తుడిచిపెట్టినాడు he emptied or plundered the house. గుల్లపుటిక a small basket. గుల్లపొగాకు tobacco that is immature and worthless, గుల్లపడు to be disgraced అవమానపడు. గుల్లపరుచు to empty, to scorn, to disgrace. HD. ii. 168. గుల్లకాడు an empty handed man ఏమిన్ని లేనివాడు.

(p. 524) tāru tāru. [Tel.] v. n. To roam, rove, stroll, saunter, run about, loiter. సంచరించు. To go. పోవు. To meet. కదియు. To lurk, lie in wait. మరుగుపడు. To dance attendance. To fall away in flesh, become lean. క్షీణించు. అడగు, తారుకొను, పొంచు. తారుకొన్నసిగ్గు lurking shame. L. iv. 202. తారుకొను or తార్కొను tāru-konu. v. n. To meet, draw near. తారసిల్లు. (p. 831) pratyavāyamu pratyavāyamu. [Skt.] n. Sin. A reverse, a contrary course or proceeding. Disappointment, disagreement. దోషము. దీనిని చేయడమువల్ల ఏమిన్ని ప్రత్యవాయములేదు there is no harm in doing it. 'కేషాంచిత్ కరణే ప్రత్యవాయః, కేషాంచిత్ అకరణే ప్రాయశ్చచిత్తం.'

(p. 858) baṇḍāramu or బండారు bandāramu. [from Skt. భండారము.] n. A treasury, ఖజానా, ధనగృహము, సంచికట్టు, బొక్కసము. 'తక్కినబండారులెక్కలు చూడు.' BD. v. 800. See also ఆముక్త. iv. బండరు, బండరుడు or బండారి banḍaru. n. A treasurer, కోసగృహాధ్యక్షుడు, బొక్కసమున కధికారి. 'హితులుభృత్యులు బురోహితులును రాజసుతులు, బండరులురాహుతులులెంకలును.' Charitr. iii. 108. బండరువు banḍaruvu. n. A treasury. ఖజానా, సంచికట్టు, బండారము, బండవలము or బండాలము banḍavalamu. n. Stock, capital, funds, treasure. సంచిమొదలు. Means, capacity, strength, సామర్థ్యము. దాని బండవలము బైటపడినది the secret came to light. అందులో బండాలము ఏమిన్ని లేదు there is nothing in that.

(p. 895) būra būra. [Tel.] n. A trumpet. adj. Stout, స్థూలము. బూరకాలు būra-kālu. n. A swollen leg. A leg which is affected by elephantiasis, ఏనుగుకాలు. బూరకాలివాడు būra-kāli-vāḍu. n. One who has elephantiasis. ఏనుగుకాలివాడు. బూరగడ్డి or పిచ్చికబూరగడ్డి būra-gaḍḍi. n. A herb called Ambrosinia unilocularis. Rox. iii. 493. బూరడు būraḍu. n. One who excels or is proud, విజృంభించినవాడు. బూరదిప్పకాయ būra-dippa-kāya. n. A plant called Leea integrifolia. Rox. i. 659. బూరగ or బూర būraga. n. A trumpet. కాహళ, తార. 'క్రూరంబులైన బూరగలరవంబులును.' T. v. 26. A sort of white vulture. బూరగొమ్ము būra-gommu. n. A trumpet horn, ఊదెడుకొమ్ము. A conchshell. శంఖము. బూరట būraṭa. n. Swelling. ఊల్బణము. బూరటిల్లు or బూరటిలు būraṭillu. v. n. To be spread. To swell, ఉబ్బు. To be full, నిండు. 'సీకలముపైగీలించి గాలికెత్తినచాపపోల్కిమిన్నంతయు బూరటిల్లె.' M. V. iv. 120. బూరటించు būraṭinṭsu. v. a. To cause to fill, బూరటిల్లజేయు.

(p. 953) mannu or మను mannu. [Tel.] n. Earth, mud, soil, dirt. మంటబెట్టు to inter or bury. పూడ్చు, పాతిపెట్టు. వానికి మన్నుమిన్నుకానరాలేదు he is too proud to care for anything in heaven or on earth. మన్నుదిండి, మనుదిండి or మన్దిండి manu-dinḍi. n. Lit. that which feeds on earth, i .e., a kind of snake. మన్నురేడు mannu-rēḍu. n. A king. భూపతి. మన్నులపాము mannula-pāmu. n. A harmless species of serpent, extremely thick. Russell on Snakes, Vol. ii. No. XVI.

(p. 982) miṅgu or మ్రింగు mingu. [Tel.] v. a. To swallow, devour. కబళించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు మింగు to swallow one's saliva, to stand speechless, to smother one's grief: to water, as the mouth, అపేక్షించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు ఎందుకు మింగుతావు చెప్పు why do you falter so in speaking. 'కన్నపుదొంగలువచ్చిరె, మిన్నక యీలోనివారె మింగిరటంచున్.' Vaij. iv. 54. the people inside have devoured it. మింగనగొండి, మింగగొడ్డి or మ్రింగనగొండి minga-na-goṇḍi. n. A glutton. తిండిపోతు. 'మనసిజారియు మింగగొండియయ్యె.' BD. iv. 1281.

(p. 982) miṇṭa minṭa. [Tel.] n. (Abl. of మిన్ను.) in the sky. మింటి minṭi. Gen. of మిన్ను. of the sky. మింటితెరువరి minṭi-teruvari. n. Lit. a traveller in the sky, i.e., the sun, సూర్యుడు, or an Asura, అసురుడు.

(p. 985) miḍuguru, miḍugu or మిణుగురు miḍu-guru. [Tel. from మిడియు.] n. A spark, a gleam. అగ్నికణము. 'మిడుగురులడరంగమిన్నంటివహ్ని.' HD. i. 2228. A firefly or glowworm, మిణుగురుపురుగు.
