(p. 263) kaviyu kaviyu. [Tel.] v. n. To join with, be united to. To join in combat, rush upon, fall upon. నీరుగవిసిన నిప్పుపోలె like fire under ashes. To spread పర్వు, వ్యాపించు or కవ్వించు or కవియించు kavinṭsu. v. t. To cause to rush upon, to chase తరుము, మీదపడు. కవిచేయు or కవియుదెంచు Same as కవియు.

(p. 374) guḍi guḍi. [Tel.] n. A circle. The name of the secondary form of the vowel ఇ. A temple. A halo round the sun or moon. గుడివచ్చి మీదపడినట్లు to meet harm where none was expected. గుడికట్టు guḍi-kaṭṭu. n. The round or total extent of land under a village: a district. గుడికొను guḍi-konu. v. n. To spread. క్రమ్ము. 'క అడలుచుబెదవులుతడుపుచు గుడికొనుకన్నీరు గ్రుక్కికొనుచున్ మదిలో నుడుగని నెంజిలినేమియు నుడువనియమ్మానధను గనుంగొనివేగన్.' స్వా. iii.

(p. 488) ṭapā or టపాలు ṭapā. [H.] n. The post or mail, the 'tappal.' A station or stage. టపాలమీదపోయినాడు he travelled by post.

(p. 987) minnu or మిను minnu. [Tel.] n. The sky or heaven, ఆకాశము. (G. మింటి. D. మింటికి Abl. మింట). మింటికెగసి it flew up into the sky. మిన్నున in the sky. మిన్నువిరిగి మీదపడినట్లు as if the skies were falling. Swa. iv. 115. మినుచూలు minu-ṭṣūla. n. Lit. the offspring of the sky, an epithet of applied to the wind, వాయువు. మినుసిగవేలుపు, lit. the sky-tressed god, an epithet of Siva. మిన్నుకొలకు, మిన్నువాక, మిన్వాక or మిన్నేరు minnu-kolaku. n. The heavenly Ganges. ఆకాశగంగ. మిన్నుమన్ను minnu-mannu. n. Heaven and earth, ఆకాశమును భూమియు. The space between heaven and earth, రోదసి. మిన్నువాకతాలుపు minnu-vāka-tālupu. n. An epithet of Siva, as carrying the heavenly Ganges on his head. గంగాధరుడు, శివుడు.

(p. 989) mīḍu mīdu. [Tel.] n. The upper surface; top, head. ఉపరిభాగము, ఊర్ధ్వము. Futurity. భవిష్యత్కాలము. What is vowed, or set aside for sacrifice, దేవతకు నియమించిన ముడుపు. That which is next, the next thing, పరము. మీదుకట్టు mīdu-kaṭṭu. v. a. To devote, sanctify, set aside in the name of God. మీద or మీదను mīda. postposition. Above, on, upon, on the top of, at, against. నామీదవచ్చినతప్పు a fault laid on me. ఆ పనిమీదనున్నాడు he is engaged in that business. వారిని ఈపనిమీద పంపెను he sent them upon this business. ఇక మీద in future. ఉపాయముమీదచేసిన effected by stratagem. పనిమీదపని task after task. మధ్యాహ్నము మీద in the afternoon. మాటమీదమాట word upon word. నామీదకోపముచేసి being angry with me. టప్పాలుమీద పంపుము send a letter by post. గడియలమీదనున్నది it is hourly expected. మీదట mīdaṭa. adv. or prep. (Irreg. infl. of మిదు. See మీది.) adj. Subsequent. ఆమీదటిపనులు the subsequent acts. మీదటికి mīdaṭiki. adv. In future, next year. మీదటికి వానలేకుంటే if there should be no rain next year. మీది mīdi. (infl. of మీదు) adj. Upper, higher, the next, above, on. మిదికొమ్మ the top branch. నా మిది ప్రేమ (her or his) love towards me మీది మాట the next word. మీదిపనులు what is to be done afterwards. మీదిమన్ను the upper layer of earth. మీదిగుడ్లు staring eyes: (as in the song దొప్పచెవులు, దోసెకడుపు, మిట్టనొసలు, మీదిగుడ్లు.) దాని మీది సొమ్ములు the jewels which were on her. పాలమిదిమీగడ the cream upon milk. మీదికి mīdiki. (Dative of మీదు) Upon, against. ఆదండు ఏఊరిమీదికి పోయినది against which village is the army gone? ఆ తప్పు మామీదికి వచ్చినది that fault was laid upon us. మీదుమిక్కిలి mīdu-mikkili. adj. Very much, కడు మిక్కిలి.

(p. 1243) śayanamu ṣayanamu. [Skt.] n. Lying down sleeping sleep. నిద్ర. A bed, a couch, పరుపు, మంచము. శయనించు or శయించు ṣayan-īyamu. v. n. To lie down, recline, to go to bed. పండుకొను, పరుండు శయనీయము ṣayan-īyamu. n. A bed, a mattress. మంచముమీదపరిచిన పరుపు. శయ్య. శయాళువు or శయితుడు ṣāyāḷuvu. n. A sleepy, slothful, or sluggish man. నిద్రాళువ, నిదురపోతు తూగిపడువాడు. అలసుడు, మందుడు. శయ్య ṣayya. n. A bed, mattress, పడక, పరచినపరుపు. Stringing or tying words together, style, శబ్దగుంభనము. 'నతతంబువేదశాస్త్ర ప్రసంగము మాని శయ్యలొక్కొకసారి చదువసాగె.' T. ii. 72. 'అరసివిశుద్ధశబ్దములు నర్థములున్ ధ్వని వైభవం బలం కరణమురీతివృత్తులును కల్పనపాకము శయ్యయున్ రసస్ఫురణము.' ib. ii. 60. పుష్పశయ్య a bed of flowers.
