(p. 975) māma māma. [from Skt. మామక.] n. A father-in-law. Also, a mother's brother, మేనమామ. The same title is bestowed equally on the brothers of a father-in-law, as పినమామగారు, పెద్దమామగారు. The phrase శకునిమామ denotes 'Uncle Sakuni,' i.e., an evil counsellor. Sakuni was the maternal uncle of Duryōdhana. మామమామ an epithet of Vishnu, as he married Lakshmi the daughter of the Sea (సముద్రుడు) whose wife (Ganges) is related to him as a daughter, లక్ష్మీదేవిని పెండ్లాడినందున తనకు మామయైన సముద్రునికి పెండ్లామగు గంగాదేవి తనకు కూతురువరుస అగుటచేత విష్ణువు సముద్రునికి మామ అయ్యెను.

(p. 986) midde or మిద్దియ midde. [Tel. from మీదు.] n. A flat roof, an upper story. A flat roofed house or a storeyed house. The pistil of the lotus, తామరపువ్వులోనగువాని లోపలి దిమ్మె. The beazle of a ring, ఉంగరము మీదిదిమ్మె. మిద్దెటిల్లు or మిద్దెయిల్లు a terraded house, a house that has a flat roof, or a storeyed house. మూడుమిద్దెలయిల్లు a three storeyed house. మిద్దెటుంగరము a ring with a beazle.

Cream, కాగినపాల మీది తెట్టె. మీగడకట్టినది the cream has formed. పాలమీగడలు a name given to a fine sort of rice. H. iv. 156. మీడగపెరుగు curds with the cream on it. మీగాలు mī-gālu. (మీదు + కాలు.) n.
