First, initial, prior, original, chief, principal. మొదటి, ముఖ్యము. ప్రథమపురుషము (in Gram.) the First person, which is the third person according to English Grammar. He, she, it, they. ప్రథమతః prathama-tah. adv. Originally, in the first instance. మొదట. ప్రథమసత్ప్రసాదము the first communion. ప్రథమశాఖవారు the name of a certain sect among Brahmins.

(p. 996) mukhyamu mukhyamu. [Skt.] adj. Chief, primary, particular, principal, eminent, urgent, indispensable. ప్రధానమైన. Excellent, prime, శ్రేష్ఠమైన. ముఖ్యార్థము the chief purport. ముఖ్యమైన భాగము the bulk of the work, the chief portion. ఇది ముఖ్యము this is the chief point. ఇది ముఖ్యముకాదు this is no great matter. ముఖ్యముగా mukhyamu-ga. adv. Chiefly, in a great measure, for the most part, particularly, especially, principally, మెట్టుకు, ప్రధానముగా. ముఖ్యుడు mukhyuḍu. n. A chief, a leader, a principal man, a man of weight. ప్రధానమైనవాడు.

(మొగము + అరి.) Same as మొగముట్టు (q. v.) మొగసాల, మొగసల or మోసాల moga-sāla. n. An entrance hall. నడవ. ముఖమంటపము, నగరితల వాకిటిచావడి. 'నీ తమ్ముండు పెద్ద మొగసాలం జాలు మానసులం గావలివెట్టి.' (p. 1271) saṅkramamu san-kramamu. [Skt.] n. Difficult progress, advance through difficulties. The transit of a planetary body through the zodiac, గమనము, గతి, సూర్యాదిగ్రహములు ఒకరాశినుండి మరియొకరాశికి పోవడము. A causeway, a bridge, వంతెన. సంక్రమణము san-kramaṇamu. n. The passage of the sun or planetary body from one sign of the zodiac into another. సూర్యాది గ్రహములు ఒకరాశిని విడిచి మరియొక రాశికి పోవడము. సంక్రమించు san-kraminṭsu. v. a. To encroach on, ఆక్రమించు. To enter, ప్రవేశించు. సంక్రాంతి san-krānti. n. The transit of the sun or a planetary body from one sing of the zodiac into another; particularly applied to the passage of the sun from Sagittarius to Capricornus in January when the Hindus celebrate the Pongal (పొంగలి) feast సూర్యాదిగ్రహములు ఒక రాశిలోనుండి మరియొక రాశికి పోవడము, ముఖ్యముగా సూర్యుడు మకరములో ప్రవేశించేది మకరసంక్రాంతి.

(p. 1377) svābhimānamu sv-ābhi-mānamu. [Skt.] n. Favouritism. తనదనే విశ్వాసము. వానికి స్వాభిమానమే ముఖ్యము he is guided solely by favouritism.

(p. 1378) svārthamu sv-ārthamu. [Skt.] n. Regard to one's self-interest, personal benefit. స్వప్రయోజనము, తనమేలు. స్వార్థకము sv-ārthakamu. n. The indicative mood in Grammar. స్వార్థపరుడు sv-ārthaparuḍu. n. A selfish man, he who is devoted to his own interest. స్వప్రయోజమునే ముఖ్యముగా విచారించేవాడు, స్వసుఖమునే విచారించేవాడు.
