Then, afterwards. నీ వెంత అడిగితే అంత యిస్తాను I will give you as much as you ask. అంతకంటె then that. అంతకంత as much again. అంతకంతకు by degrees; more and more. అంతకుముందు before that. అంతమంది so many men. అంత. మందిలో among so many persons. అంతమట్టుకు so far, thus far. అంతమాత్రము only so much అంతసేపు so long. అంతలో in the mean time. మూడంతలు three times as much. అక్కడికి పోయినంతలో on his going there. వాడు తనంతనే వచ్చినాడు he came of his own accord. అంతవాడు లేడు. there never was such a man. రాజంతవాడవు thou art equal to the king. నాయంతవాడు my equal, one like me one as tall as I am. అంతే అవును. that probably is the case నిద్రలేచినంతలో when he rose from sleep, as soon as he awoke. నేను తెలిసికొన్నంత as much as I know అంతపని such an act.

(p. 7) aṃza anza [Tel.] n. The foot; a footstep; the mark or measure of a foot. a stride. 'ఆట రెండుమూడం ౛లరుగునప్పుడకాళ్ల బంకజాక్షికి దొట్రుపాటుగదిరె.' మను. iii.

(p. 38) aḍḍamu aḍḍamu. [Tel.] n. Obstacle, hindrance, A screen. అభ్యంతరము, ఆటంకము, చటు. A pledge తాకట్టు నీ మాటకు అడ్డము లేదు no one will resist you. వాండ్లకు మాకు గోడ అడ్డముగా ఉండినది there was a wall between them and us. ఒక నగను అడ్డము పెట్టి యిరువైరూపాయలు తెచ్చినాడు he pawned a jewel and got twenty rupees. నా పనికి అడ్డము వచ్చినాడు he opposed my endeavours. మొగుణ్ని అడ్డముపెట్టుకొని తానే అన్ని పనులు చూచుకొనిపోయినది she used her husband as a screen and carried on the business. వాడు తండ్రికి అడ్డమాడుతాడు he opposes or contradicts his father. తిరుపతికి పోయేలోగా మూడేళ్లు అడ్డమువస్తవి there are three rivers to cross on the way to Tirupati. ఏదో ఒకటి వచ్చి అడ్డముపడినది something has got in the way. వానికి అడ్డము తగిలినారు they interrupted him. కొంతదూరము దోవనే పోయి అవతల అడ్డము తిరిగినాడు or అడ్డము తొక్కినాడు he went along some way and then cut across. 'కరాగ్రములు దృష్టులకడ్డమిడుచు.' BD. iv. 1532. అడ్డముగా aḍḍamu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Crosswise, across, transversely. చెట్టు కండ్లకు అడ్డముగానున్నది the tree intercepts the view, నేను అడ్డముగా నిలిస్తిని I stood in his way.

(p. 70) abhinyāsamu abhinyāsamu. [Skt.] n. A fit. A morbid state of the three humours. అంతర్దాహ బహిశ్శీతిములుగల సన్నిపాతవిశేషము, వాతపైత్య శ్లేష్మదోషాలు ప్రకోపించి మూడున్ను సరి అయి చేష్టలు మాటలు క్రమము తప్పి అవశ్యము చంపే సన్నిపాతము.

(p. 96) avasaramu avasaramu. [Skt.] n. Occasion, opportunity, వేళ, సమయము, కార్యోచిత సమయము. ఇది మూడో అవసరము this is the third time. 'చేరవచ్చు నయ్యవసరంబున,' T. iii. 39. అవసరము also means food offered as a meal to a god, or a kind of mantram said on the occasion. శ్రీరంగములో అరువై అవసరములు అరగింపు చేయుదురు they make an offering of sixty meals. Also necessity, urgency, hurry, flurry. అగత్యము, ఆతురము. అవసరమైనప్పుడు నిన్ని పిలిపించుకొంటాను I will send for you when necessary. అవసరము చేస్తే పని వెడిపోవును if you hurry the business will be spoiled. అది నాకు అవసరము లేదు. I have no occasion for this. అవసరము adj. Necessary, urgent, hurried, hasty. అగత్యమైన, అతురమైన, అవసరమైన పని urgent business. అవసరపడు avasara-paḍu. v. n. To hurry, to haste. అవసరముగా adv. Urgently, in haste. అగత్యముగా, ఆతురముగా, అవసరించు ava-sarinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To hurry, make haste. త్వరచేయు.

(p. 122) āru āru. [Tel.] v. n. To teem with, be full of నిండు; to be or have. సొంపారిన beautiful. ఇంపారిన delightful. నిండారుగానున్నది it is full. అలరారు blooming. చెన్నారిన lovely. పొల్పారిన charming (compare the affix ఆరి as నేర్పరి, సొంపరి, &c.) గోజారు to trouble. సొంపారు to bloom, to be pretty. In such phrases as నూరారు వెయ్యారు the word అరు is not the numeral six, but is a form of అరు to be full; so వెయ్యారు means full thousand and నూరారు full a hundred. నూరారుముద్దులు a full hundred kisses. చేతులారంగ శివుని పూజింపడేని if he sacrifice not to Siva with his own hands. చేతులార రూకలు చెల్లిస్తిని I paid the money with my own hands. పని ఆరుమూడు అయినది the work is all in confusion, at sixes and sevens.

(p. 122) ārumūḍu See ఆరు (six).

(p. 174) ūḍanipāḍu ūḍani-pāḍu. [Tel. ఊడు+అని+పాడు] v. t. To cry ఊడు while running away. To run away. To be put to flight, to be routed. సిగ్గూడనిపాడెన్ her modesty left her. P. iv. 433. వ్యామోహమూడనిపాడెన్ that fascination is now over. 'ఒకనాడు రాత్తి పడుపడు కకుజెప్పక యిల్లు వెడలి గాఢతరతమో నికరమతనతగుతోడుగ నొకరుడు పేరడవిత్రోవ మాడనిపాడెన్.' పాండు. iii.

(p. 216) ō ō. [Tel.] Added to cardinal numbers it forms ordinals మూడు three; మూడో third; this is contracted for మూడవ.

(p. 267) kācu kāṭsu. [Tel. from కాగు.] v. n. To be hot; to shine, as the sun or moon. To be hot as fever. To wait, dangle in attendence. నాకు జ్వరముకాచినది I had the fever on me. కొంచెము జ్వరముకాస్తున్నది there is a little fever. చలికాచుకొనుట to bask or sit by the fireside, or to warm oneself. ఎండకాస్తున్నది there is sunshine. ఆ చింతచెట్టు కాయడములేదు that tamarind tree does not bear. To wait for, attend on నాకొరకు కాచుకొన్నాడు he is waiting for me. అతని వద్ద మూడు ఏండ్లు కాచుకొని యుంటిని I was in attendance on his for three years. కాచు v. a. To boil; to heat, to warm. To bear fruit. కాగజేయు. ఆ ఊరంతా కాచి వడపోసినాడు lit. he has boiled and strained off the town, i.e., he has made himself master of the whole town. తేనీళ్లుకాచు to make tea. బెల్లము కాచడము sugar making. రాత్రి అంతా వారికి కాచడము కట్టడముతో సరిపోయినది the whole night was passed in fomenting and binding up the limbs.

(p. 271) kāpuramu kāpuramu [Tel.] n. Home, dwelling, abode, residence, lodgings. అక్కడ కాపురముండినారు or కాపురముచేసినారు they lived there, they made their home there. ఆ కాపురమును మూడుదోవలు చేసినాడు he has broken up his family. అతడు వేరుగా కాపురముచేస్తాడు he lives separate. కాపురస్థుడు kāpurasthuḍu. n. An inhabitant, a tenant, a native. కాపురస్థురాలు a female inhabitant. కాపురించు Same as కాపురముచేయు.

(p. 277) kālu kālu. [Tel.] n. A leg, a foot, a claw, a talon. మోకాలు the knee. మిగాలు the upper surface of the foot. A pillar. నూరుకాళ్లమంటపము a portico built on 100 pillars. A quarter or fourth part. ముక్కాలు being three legs, or quarters. Bilh. ii. 154. కాళ్లకడ at the feet. కాళ్లజెర్రి a centipede. కంపకాలు a fence: lit. a fence-foot. కాలిడొంక (A. vi. 16) a foot path. కాలుత్రవ్వు to paw the ground, to be eager for fighting. M. XII. ii. 301. A. v. 87. సన్నద్ధుడగు. నా కొడుకు పెండ్లాన్ని బిడ్డలను నాకాళ్లగట్టిపోయినాడు my son died and left a widow and children on my hands. మూడుకాళ్ల ముసలి (P. i. 322.) a three legged old woman, because leaning on a staff. తే 'మరుడుశైంగార వీధులేలర్పరచితనదు పేరనోవకపేటకట్టి సంప్తీతితోర ణాలనుంచిన కాలుకంబాలనంగ కలికియూరులు చెలుగు పై కాంచి మెరయ.' (p. 282) kita kita. [Tel.] n. A heap of three handfuls of grain kept in a field as an offering to God. దేవతార్పణముకొరకు కళ్లమున నొకదెసనుంచిన మూడు దోసిళ్ల ధాన్యరాశి.

(p. 320) kommu kommu. [Tel.] n. 1. A horn. A bugle or trumpet. A tusk, an elephant's tusk or tooth కోర, దంతము. 2. The secondary form of the vowel ఉ. అల్లపుకొమ్ము a root or bit of ginger. పసుపుకొమ్ము a root or bit of turmeric. A squirt. చిమ్మన్నగ్రోవి. 'కొమ్మలన్ గరచిచల్ల,' A. 118. 3. Anything projecting, as చెరుపుకొమ్ము the tongue or end of a tank. అందలపుకొమ్మ the pole of a sedan chair. పల్లకిబొంగు. కావటికొమ్ము one end of a yoke. 4.
