(p. 10) antakuḍu antakuḍu. [Skt.] n. A name of Yama, the god of death. యముడు, మృత్యువు నరాంతకుడు a homicide. శ్లేష్మాంతకము a remedy against phlegm. In compounds like this అంతకము denotes 'anti,' as a remedy against.

(p. 19) akālamu a-kālamu. [Skt.] n. Untimeliness. unseasonableness. adj. Untimely. Unseasonable. అసమయమైన అకాలమృత్యువు an untimely death. అకాలకుసుమము a flower blossoming out of season.

(p. 19) ako ! or అకో! ako. [Tel.] interj. Either, or whether; I wonder, I imagine, Query, ఏమి? 'మృత్యువు, దాగెడుచోట లేదకొ.' Swa. iv. 145.

(p. 62) apamṛtyuvu apa-mrityuvu. [Skt.] n. Sudden death, violent death, untimely death. అకస్మికమరణము. తటాలున కలిగిన చావు.

(p. 96) avasānamu ava-sānamu. [Skt.] n. End, conclusion, termination, death, Limit. కడ, విరామము, సమాప్తి, శేషము, మృత్యువు, అవసానకాలము the time of death. అవసన్నము ava-sannamu. [Skt.] adj. That which has reached its end, that which is destroyed. కడముట్టినది, నశించినది.

(p. 746) pāli or పాలిటి pāli. [Tel. from పాలు a part or share.] adj. Connected with, appertaining to Near. పాలికాపు or పాలివాడు a comrade, a partner, భాగస్థుడు. n. A partner, proprietor or share-holder. A farm-servant. నాపాలిదైవము my tutelary god. వారిపాలి మృత్యువు the death that was doomed them. వారిపాలికేగె he went up to them. తన పాలిభాగ్యదేవత అని లోనికి కొంచుపోయి he looked upon the guest as a God and took him in. Vish. P. iv. 222.

(p. 838) praḷayamu pra-ḷayamu. [Skt. ప్ర+లయము.] n. Destruction. The final destruction of the world. కల్పాంతము. Danger, calamity, అపాయము. Death, మృత్యువు. ప్రళయకాలము an awful or protentous period. జలప్రళయము the Deluge. ప్రళయముగా pra-ḷayamu-gā. adv. In a flood, in a deluge. Prodigiously, hugely, grandly. ఇంతటిలో వానప్రళయముగా వచ్చినది the rain came in floods. రాజు ప్రళయముగా బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out very grandly. వానిపని బహుప్రళయముగానున్నది he lives in grand style, his business goes on thrivingly. ప్రళయముగా మాట్లాడుతాడు he talks pompously. ఏరు ప్రళయముగా పారుచున్నది the river is rushing furiously.

(p. 985) mitti mitti. [from Skt. మృత్యువు.] n. Death or dying. చావు. మృత్యువు. 'సింగంపుమిత్తినా చేతికత్తి.' R. ii. 22. మిత్తిక mittika. [from Skt. మృత్తిక.] n. Earth, మన్ను, మృత్తిక. మిత్తికూడు rice offered to the dead. 'మిత్తికూళ్లదొంగ. మేలెరుగనేర్చునా.' Vema. 76.

The god of death, కృంతాంతుడు, మరణాధిదేవత. మృత్యుంజయుడు mṛityun-jayuḍu. n. The victor over death, i.e., Siva. మిత్తిగొంగ. మృత్యుసూతి mṛityu-sūti. n. That which bears young, and then dies, i.e., the crab, which, like the viper, is supposed to be destroyed by its young. పీత.
