(p. 87) alamu alamu. [Tel.] n. Weeds that grow in fields of dry grain. జొన్న మొదలైన మెరక చేలలో మొలిచిన గడ్డి. ఆకు అలములు leaves and weeds.

(p. 161) upakramamu upa-kramamu. [Skt.] n. Beginning or commencement. A skilful plan. ఉపాయమెరిగి ప్రారంభించుట. ఉక్రమించు upa-kraminṭsu. v. a. To begin, to proceed to do, commence. ఆరంభించు.

(p. 194) ēkamu ēkamu. [Skt.] pron. One. adj. Sole, single, only, general, universal, uniform, combined, matchless, unequalled, chief. Joined, combined. ఏకదీక్షగా unintermittingly, incessantly. ఏకముగా all at once, unitedly. ఏకతిరగడము ceaseless roaming. అతడు ఏకరీతిని ఉండే మనిషి he is a regular or steady person. రాత్రి యేకముగా మెరిసినది it lightened incessantly all night. ఏకము చేయు ēkamu-chēyu. v. a. To make one, unite, gather together. ఏకకాలంబున at one time, simultaneously. ఏకకాలీనుడు ēka-kālīnuḍu. n. A contemporary. వారున్ను వీరున్ను ఏకకాలీనులైనందున as these men were contemporaries: ఏకకుండలుడు ēka-kuṇḍaluḍu. [lit. Having one earring] n. An epithet of Kubera. ఏకగర్భజనితులు ēka-garbha-janitulu. adj. Uterine, of the full blood. అతడున్ను నేనున్ను ఏకగర్భజనితులము గనుక as he and I are sons of the same parents or uterine brothers. ఏకగ్రీవము ēka-grīvamu. adj. Unanimous, joint. ఏకగ్రీవముగా unanimously, jointly. ఏకచక్రాధిపతి, or ఏకఛత్రాధిపతి ēka-chakrādhipati. n. A sole ruler, an absolute monarch. ఏకచింత one sole or engrossing thought or pursuit. ఏకనిష్ఠగా ēka-nishṭha-gā. adv. With a single eye or intent, resolutely, faithfully, thoroughly, downright. ఏకపత్నీవ్రతుడు ēka-patnī-vratuḍu. n. A monogamist, a man with one wife. ఏకబోగ్రామము ēka-bhōga-grāmamu. n. A village held by one owner, or tenant. ఏకమనస్కులై ēka-manaṣkulai. adv. With fixed attention, with a single heart. అందరు ఏకమైన నా మీద పడ్డారు they fell upon me in a body. ఏకవర్ణముగానున్నది it is all of one sort or colour. భువనేకసుందరి an unrivalled beauty. ఏకశిలానగరము ēka-ṣilā-nagaramu. n. (lit. One stone-town.) A town built near a single rock or hill. The Skt. translation of ఒరంగల్లు Warungul a town in the Nizam's Territories. ఏకాధిష్ఠతము ēkā-dishṭhitamu. adj. In one hand: in one person's sole power. M. I. ii. 200.

(p. 209) oḍḍu oḍḍu. [Tel.] n. A bank or shore. దరి. The original number; whether multiplicand or dividend. The disposition of an army in a battle field వ్యూహము. A stake in gambling. పందెము. ఒడ్డిమి. An attempt పూనిక. An obstacle. అడ్డపాటు. ఒడ్డువేసికొని యుండు. to be in wait or ambush. ఒడ్డు విరిగి దాని మీద పడ్డారు they fell upon him tooth and nail. ఒడ్డుచూపు to place one's troops. నీ ఒడ్డు విరుగుగాక may the greatness perish. ఒడ్డు or ఒడ్డైన oḍdu. adj. Large, great, stout, big. ఒడ్డుగుండ్లు large balls, boulders, or, fragments of rocks hurled from a hill. ఒడ్డోలగము oḍḍ-ōlagamu. (ఒడ్డు+ఓలగము) n. A great assembly. ఒడ్డుమెరక high and low, ups and downs: unevenness.

(p. 213) oramu oramu. [Tel.] v. i. To become hot వేడెక్కు. 'అక్కడరములుకరములెకా జిగినొరమెననన్ రవియుమెరసె.' A. iv. 212.

(p. 221) aucityamu auchityamu. [Skt from ఉచితము.] n. Fitness, suitability, propriety. యోగ్యత. ఔచిత్యమెరిగి మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke appropriately. అనౌచిత్యప్రసంగము an inappropriate remark.

(p. 243) kannu or కను kannu. [Tel.] n. The eye. నేత్రము. Sight చూపు. An orifice, small hole or hollow రంధ్రము. The black mark in the middle of the parchment or of a drum. మద్దెల మొదలగువానిలోనుండు గుండ్రని నల్లగురుతు. A trace ౛ాడ. The bush for box in a carriage wheel బండికన్ను. The abl. is కంట thus కంటబడు to fall into the eye, to be in view. వానికి కండ్లు అగుపడవు he cannot see కన్నుకనబడనివాడు a blind man. కండ్లు తిరిగినవి I turned giddy. పెద్దకండ్లుచేయు to look angry. కన్నులెర్ర చేసికొను to make one's eyes inflamed with wrath. కన్నుగట్టు kannu-gaṭṭu. n. Fascination, deluding. కన్నుకట్టుట to delude, or blind the eyes. కన్నుకట్టువిద్య magic,legerdemain. The art of being invisible. కన్నుగవ or కన్నుదోయి A pair of eyes. కన్నునీరు or కన్నీరు tears. కన్నుబ్రాము (R. 1. 107.) To evade, delude. కన్నుమూసినగంత a blindman's buff. కన్నుమొరగు as though blind. కన్నుమెరగు or కనుమొరగు to delude వంచించు. కన్నులారచూచు to see with one's own eyes, view distinctly. కన్నువేయు to cast an eye on, to long for ఆశించు, కన్నులమ్రాను the sugar cane చెరకు. కన్నులవిలుకాడు Cupid మన్మథుడు .

(p. 328) kōla kōla. [Tel.] adj. Long. కోలముఖము a long face. కోల మెరుగు forked lightning. నిలువుమెరుగు, ఐరావతి. 'శివుదిక్కునందు వేకువ గోలమెరులు మెరసె.' హరి. పూ. vii. కోలాకు a long leaf. కోలాకుపొన్న a certain tree. H. iv. 11. కోలతపేలా an oblong cup, a sauce boat.

(p. 501) tagulu tagulu. [Tel.] v. a. & n. To happen, occur, turn up, appear. To belong to. appertain to, to come in contact with, to touch, hit, strike. To be caught; got, found, joined, entangled, understood. To be received (as a blow), incurred (as expense or punishment.) n. Charge, cost, expense. తగులవడు to be caught. చిక్కు, పట్టుపడు.
