(p. 533) tīga , తీగె or తీవ tīga. [Tel.] n. A creeping plant or vine; a tendril or spray. లత. A wire, the string of a lute, తంతి. A necklace of gold wire, a gold or silver belt, మొల నూలు. A gold ornament worn by women, బంగారుపట్టెడ. ప్రేముతీగలు the rattan lacing in a chair. మెరుపుతీగె a flash of lightning. పాచితీగె, బంగారుతీగె, &c., are various creepers. తీగెగరక tīge-garika. n. A creeping species of bent grass, called Agrostis stolonifera. తీగబచ్చలి a creeper, Convolvuḷus repens. See బచ్చలి. తీగయిల్లు an arbour పొదరిల్లు. తీగయెలుగు a low voice హీనస్వరము. తీగబోడి tīga-bōdi. n. A slight and graceful girl. తీగమల్లె the creeping Jasmine. తీగమెరుగు tīga-merugu. n. Lightning without thunder ఉరుములేని మెరుపు. A sort of grain. తీగమోడి tīga-mōḍi. n. Patterns of flourishes or carved work in carpentry. వ్రాతపని. ముత్తెములు తీగెమోడికుట్టే పనులు embroidery in the fashion of sprigs of pearl. తీగసాగు tīga-sāgu. v. n. To increase, to prosper వర్ధిల్లు. గార బాగా తీగెలు సాగేలాగున కలిపిరి they mixed the mortar till it was of a proper consistency. తీగలుపారు to spread వ్యాపించు. తీగవిలుకాడు an epithet of Manmadha. తీగసరులు a kind of rice ధ్యాన్యవిశేషము.

To surpass, excel; to transgress. అతిశయించు, అతిక్రమించు. చదువులోవారిని మించినాడు he surpassed them in learning. అతడు ముందు మించిపోయినాడు he is already gone on. మించిమాట్లాడకు do not talk rashly. పని మించిపోయినది it is now too late, the thing is gone by. చెయ్యిమించవద్దు do not lay a hand upon him, do not take the law into your own hands. ఇంతకుమించి యెరుగను I know nothing more than this. పెదవికి మించినపల్లు a projecting tooth, i.e., a scapegrace, a disobedient fellow, మించిమించియుంటే, లేక, మహా ఉంటే పదిరూపాయీలు ఉండవచ్చును at the utmost there may be ten rupees. ఆరూకలను మించ ఇచ్చివేసినాడు he had already paid the money. 'ఉత్తరంబుమించి యరిగిన' M. III. i. 2. when they first went northwards, ఉత్తరాదికి ముందుగా పోవునప్పటికి మించుకాలు the right leg, కుడికాలు. n. A kind of ring worn on the second toe, కాలిచుట్టు. Excess, ఆధిక్యము. Lightning, మెరుపు. Brightness, ప్రకాశము, మించూనె it flashed. మెరుపునుపొందెను, మెరసెను. 'తొలుదొల్తనుదయాద్రి శిలదాకిమించూని.' A. i. 43. మించుబోడి or మించుబోణి minṭsu-bōḍi. n. 'క కన్యలు, మెచ్చరువార్దకముచేత మెదిగినవానిన్.' వి. పు. iv. మెదుగుడు meduguḍu. n. The state of being pounded, as rice, మెదుగుట. An old cloth, పాతవస్త్రము. మెదుచు, మెదించు or మెదుపు mediṭsu. v. a. To pound, grind, triturate. నలిగి సన్నమగునట్లు మర్దించు, మెదుగజేయు. కస్తూరిమెదిచి triturating musk or grinding it. 'మెరుపులన్నియు గూర్చి మెదిచి రూపుగదీర్చి యీసరోజాననజేసె నొక్కొ.'
