To calm. తేర్చు. వానికి ధైర్యము తెలిపి having reassured or encouraged him. తెలుపుడు or తెల్పుడు telupuḍu. n. Knowledge, knowing. ఎరుక. తెలుపుడుచేయు telupuḍu-chēyu. v. t. (p. 834) prabuddhuḍu pra-buddhuḍu. [Skt.] n. One who is awake, మేలుకొన్నవాడు. A man who has become acquainted with reality; an enlightened man, a wise man. A clever man. ప్రబుద్ధులు the wise. ప్రబోధము pra-bōdhamu. n. Wisdon, Intellect, understanding. మిక్కిలి తెలివి. జ్ఞానము. Caution, vigilance, wakefulness, మేలుకొనుట. ప్రబోధించు pra-bōdhinṭsu. v. a. (p. 1031) mēlu mēlu. [Tel.] n. Good, kindness. ఉపకారము. Good fortune, prosperity, favour, happiness, క్షేమము, శుభము. Profit, advantage, లాభము. Righteousness, పుణ్యము, సుకృతము. Excellence, superiority, విశేషము. Love, మోహము. Pride, మదము. 'చదువుల మేలులేదొ.' An upper storey, చంద్రశాల. మేలుమచ్చులు a kind of game played by boys. మేలురాసి mēlu rāṣi. n. The top part of a heap of winnowed grain. తూర్పెత్తిన ధాన్యపుసోగు. మేలువాడు mēlu-vāḍu. n. (p. 1228) vaitāḷika vaitāḷika. [Skt. from వితాళము.] n. A melody or tune which is without a marked time. రాగవిశేషము. వైతాళికుడు vaitāḷikuḍu. n. A king's bard. వేకుడను రాజులకు మేలుకొలుపులు పాడువాడు, బట్టువాడు. 'ఒకవైతాళికుడేగుదెంచి సబలోనుత్క్క్షప్తహస్తాగ్రుడై. G. xi. 135.

(p. 1362) saukhaśāyanikuḍu or సౌఖసుప్తికుడు saukhaṣāyanikuḍu. [Skt.] n. A bard or minstrel, whose duty it is to waken the prince in a morning with music and song. వైతాళికుడు, రాజులను నిద్రమేలుకొలుపువాడు, సుఖనిద్రయాయని ప్రశ్నము చేయువాడు. A. iv. 320.
