(p. 54) anukūlamu anu-kūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Favourable, friendly, assisting, salubrious. హీతమైన, సహాయమైన, ఆరోగ్యమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన. అనుకూలమైన గాలి a favourable wind. వాని శరీరమునకు అనుకూలమైన స్థలము the place which agrees with him. అనుకూలమైనమాట a friendly word. అనుకూలశత్రువు a friendly enemy అనుకూల కాలము a suitable time. అనుకూలము or అనుకూలత n. Favour, goodness, kindness, aid. సహాయము, మేలు, దయ. దయ ద్రవ్యానుకూలము means, resource. దైవానుకూలము వల్ల by the grace of God. అనుకూలించు, అనుకూలపడు or అనుకూలమగు anukūlinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be of use ఒదవు. To have effect, to have a good result. సఫలమగు, ఒనగూడు. అనుకూలము కాలేదు it failed, it had not the desired effect. నాకు ఇంకా రూకలు అనుకూల పడలేదు I have not yet obtained the money ఈ పని నీకు అనుకూలమగును you will succeed in this business. అనుకూలము చేయు or అనుకూలవరచు anukūlamuchēyu. v. a. To shew favour, to bring a thing about, to countenance. సహాయము చేయు, నెరవేర్చు. కార్యమును అనుకూలము చేసికొన్నారు they brought it about, brought it to a conclusion. అనుకూలుడు anukūluḍu. n. A friend, ally, patron. హితుడు, సహాయుడు, ఉపకారి. వాడు నాకు అనుకూలుడు he is well disposed towards me.

(p. 77) ara ara. [Tel.] n. A room or chamber. గది. అరలపెట్టె a box with partitions. Hesitation, doubt. జంకు. 'నాయంతవానిగా నగరి లోపలికి, నరలేకరానిచ్చి నందుకు మేలు.' Sar. D. 502.

(p. 89) alikiḍi or అలుకుడు alikiḍi. [Tel.] n. Noise, sound. ధ్వని, చప్పుడు. వారి మాటల అలికిడి వల్ల మేలుకొన్నాడు I was awakened by the sound of their talking.

(p. 161) upakaraṇamu upa-karaṇamu. [Skt.] n. An instrument, implement, apparatus, an appendage. సాధనము. ఉపకరించు upa-karinṭsu. v. a. To be of use, benefit, do good to. ఉపకారము upa-kāramu. n. Beneficence, kindness, obligation, aid, help. మేలు ఉపకారి upa-kāri. adj. Beneficent, kind, charitable, obliging, assisting. n. One who does good. ఉపకారిక upa-kārika. n. The temporary abode of a king. రాజు యొక్క విడిది యిల్లు ఉప్పరిగ, ఉపకృతి upa-kriti. n. Aid, assistance, kindness. మేలు.

(p. 164) uppata uppata. [Tel.] n. Betraying; divulging a secret; dilating on any man's extraordinary prosperity, qualifications or beauty of any person. రద్ది, రట్టు, రన్వ, ఒకని మేలున కోర్వలేక ఆడిపోసికొనుట. అది నిండా ఉప్పతగానున్నది it is the common talk of the town. ఉప్పతకారాదు to be the talk of the town is unlucky. ఉప్పతించు uppatinṭsu. v. a. To abuse through envy. ఓర్వక ఆడిపోసికొను.

(p. 171) ullaḍa or ఉల్లడము ullaḍa. [Tel.] n. An awning or canopy. చాందిని, ఉల్లాభము, మేలుకట్టు.

(p. 171) ullābhamu ullābhamu. [Skt.] n. A canopy borne over marriage offerings or over the bride and bridegroom as they go in procession. చాందిని, మేలుకట్టు, ఉల్లడ.

Virāṭa. 93. Like a lion bursting forth in rage. 'ఓ౛గాదిట్లాడనోనీకు' L. vii. 7. 'ఒడలి గుణమువేర యో౛వేర' Vēmana. ఓ౛పడు ōza-paḍu. v. i. To be settled, to be set right క్రమపడు. ఓ౛బంతి or ఓ౛్జబంతి ōzabanti. n. The way shown by the teacher ఉపాధ్యాయుడు చూసిన పద్ధతి. A copy set by him మేలుబంతి.

Blackness: also the dark colour applied to the teeth by some natives. ఇంటికప్పు or పైకప్పు the thatch. మేలుకప్పు a cover. adj. Black, dark, deep (as colour) కప్పుచామన dark red. కప్పు కుత్తుక పులుగు a peacock, as its neck is black. కప్పుతెరువరి fire. కప్పుపచ్చ sap green. కప్పురాయి a sapphire నీలము. కప్పుమల the 'black hill.' కాటుకకొండ. కప్పుమేనిగాము the planet Saturn. (గ్రాము = గ్రహము.) కప్పు కెంపుపొళ్లు crimson rubies. v. n. To spread, extend, come on, to cover, to settle as clouds or smoke. క్రమ్ము. v. a. To cover, to place as a covering. ఆచ్ఛాదించు. కప్పుకొను kappu-konu. v. a. and n. To cover oneself with. కన్నులకప్పుకొను to greet: or rejoice at the sight of. కప్పుడు kappuḍu. n. (p. 271) kāpu . kāpu. [Tel. from కాచు.] కాచు. n. Keeping, attendance. Protection, guard. రక్షణము. Heat, warmth (This is from కాగు.) Productiveness కాయలుకాచుట. The crop or fruit. కాపుడిగినచెట్టు a tree that is past bearing. కండ్లకు రెప్పలు కాపుగానున్నవి the eyelids are a protection to the eyes. కాపు ఉంచు to place a guard. కాపు or కాపువాడు n. A tenant. A farmer, a cultivator. A rustic or countryman. A person, an individual, a dweller. మంచు కొండకాపు or హిమాచలవాసి. Siva రుద్రుడు. సొమ్ముకాపు a holder or owner of property. పాలికాపు a member or shareholder. మహనాటికాపులు leaguesmen, members of the (Mahanādu) community. కాపుగడ or కాపుడు kāpugaḍa. n. Protection. కాచుట, రక్షించుట. కాప kāpa. adj. Appertaining to the farmer caste. కాపమాటలు rustic language. The vocative of కాపు a farmer. ఓకాప, నీవెట్లొకో వచ్చితి విటకు O farmer, how did you come here? B.D. iv. 1963. కావత. kāpata. n. A country girl, a rustic. The female of కాపు. కాపుతనము kāpu-tanamu. n. The rustic condition, the state of farmers. ఈ కాపుతనమును విడిచిపెట్టడము మేలు it would be better to give up the farming business. కాపుది A woman of the farming caste, a female rustic.
