Fruit, profit, use, advantage, benefit, a reward, result, consequence. దుస్స్వప్న ఫలము the fulfilment of a portentous dream. ఫలపడు phala-paḍu. v. n. To bear fruit, to avail, turn to good, turn out well. ఫలపరచు phala-paraṭsu. v. a. To make fruitful, to realize, to turn to profit, to use. ఫలపూరము phala-pūramu. n. The citron. ఫలవంతము phala-vantamu. adj. Fruitful, as a tree, ఫండ్లు గల. ఫలరాజము phala-rājamu. n. A certain red fruit, Momordica monadelpha. ఫలాహారము phal-āhāramu. n. A refection, refreshments, a slight meal of parched corn, cakes, fruit, &c. ఫలించు phalinṭsu. v. n. To be fruitful, yield fruit, పండు. To be of advantage, profit, turn out well, to be accomplished, be fulfilled, నెరవేరు. ఫలితము phalitamu. adj. Ripened, fruitful, profitable, advantageous. నా యత్నము ఫలితముకాలేదు my endeavour came to no good. n. Profit, fruit. ఫలితార్థము phalit-ārṭhamu. n. The ultimate import, purport, result, or point of a passage, the tendency as distinguished from the literal sense. ఫలినము phalinamu. n. A fruit tree. విద్యమాన ఫలవద్వృక్షము. G. iii.146. ఫలినీ phalinī. n. A tree called ప్రయంగువు, తరిగొర్రచెట్టు. ఫలోదయము phal-ōdayamu. Success, enjoyment, gain, profit; heaven, paradise, joy, happiness. ఫలోన్మఖము phal-ōnmukhamu. adj. Fruitful, effective, efficacious. అది యిప్పుడు ఫలోన్ముఖముగానున్నది it is now coming to good.

(p. 888) bīḍu bīḍu. [Tel.] adj. Waste. Base, low, inferior, poor, second-rate, as rice, or a colour. నాపని యిప్పుడు నిండా బీడుగా నున్నది my affairs are in a very bad condition. బీడుది యెందుకు I don't want the worst. బీడుభూమి waste land. n. A waste, uncultivated land, barren land. Worthless iron. మట్టపు ఇనుము. చేనిలో పుట్టునబీడు ఎక్కడికి పోవును shall I not do what I will with my own? వెదురుబీడు bamboo jungle. గడ్డిపట్టినబీళ్లు grass commons, meadows kept for grass.

(p. 1008) mummaramu mummaramu [Tel.] n. Vehemence, excess. ఉగ్రము. జ్వరముయొక్క ముమ్మరము the crisis of the fever. జ్వరముయొక్క ముమ్మరము తగ్గినది the vehemence of the fever is now past. అతని పని యిప్పుడు నిండా ముమ్మరముగానున్నది his star is now in the ascendant. adj. Vehement, excessive, మిక్కిలి అతిశయమైన, ఉగ్రమైన. ముమ్మరముగా mummaramu-gā. adv. Vehemently, excessively. మిక్కిలి అతిశయముగా, ఉగ్రముగా. ముమ్మరించు mummarinṭsu. v. n. To grow stronger, redouble, exceed, become violent, to come to its height or crisis. ఉగ్రమగు. జ్వరము ముమ్మరించినది the fever reached in height, maximum, or crisis.

(p. 1031) mēḷanamu mēḷanamu. [Skt.] n. Mecting, union, coming together. Connection, affinity, as of two languages. కలియడము, కూడిక. మేళము mēḷamu. n. Union, కూడిక. A set of musical instruments, వాద్యముల౛త. A band of musicians, a set of dancers or singers. The music used by them. వేషగాండ్రయొక్కయు నటుల యొక్క యుగుంపు, పాటగాండ్రగుంపు. ఆ పెండ్లికి నాలుగుమేళములను పిలిపించినారు they sent for four bands to come to the wedding. అది యిప్పుడు మేళానికి పోవడములేదు she does not now dance. పోకిరిమేళము a pack of rascals. మేళతాళములు instrumental music. మేళవించు or మేళగించు mēḷa-vinṭsu. v. n. To unite, be joined, ౛తగూడు, కలియు. v. a. To mix, unite in harmony, as the sound of various instruments. కలుపు, ౛తకుర్చు, శ్రుతికూర్చు. 'అతడు నపుడు పాటకాయి తముగ, వీణెమేళవించి వెలుపలి మొసలనునిచిలోనికరగి.' KP. ii. 98. 'వీరశృంగారములు మేళవించునట్టి, చెలువమునవిందు ముఖులు.' Jaimini. v. 125.

A rivulet or watercourse. వాగు. ఆలివంకవారు relations by the wife's side. కట్టెవంకపొయి తీర్చును fire settles the crookedness of the wood. తాను ఆడలేక మద్దెల మీద వంటపెట్టినాడు he cannot dance so he finds fault with the drum. నా వంకచూడు look towards me. నెత్తురు వంకలుకట్టినది the blood flowed in streams. వారిమీద వంకపెట్టి వ్రాసినాడు he wrote laying the blame on them. నెలవంక a half moon. adj. Extent, limit పరిమితి. This is affixed to words denoting fractions thus, అరవాసి one half. కాలువాసి one quarter. Advantage gained in measurement, &c., surplus. ధారణవాసి advantage gained by price. 'ధారణవాసికైరొదల్ బెట్టుచు.' A. vi. 93. టీ వాసి, మార్పుయెక్కువ తక్కువలకొరకు. 'మాయక్కకన్న రాధికయేయెక్కువయైన చానయెరిగింపుమదే యీమమనాయమనెన్నగ ప్రాయమ్మున రాజుబంటువాసిదలంపన్.' Ila. iii. 179. టీ రాజు బంటువాసి, అనగా దొరుకును సేవకునకును ఉండే తారతమ్యము వాసి vāsi. adj. Greater,గొప్ప. Better, either in health or in quality. స్వస్థము, బాగు. అది యిప్పుడు నిండావాసి it is much better now. రోగము వాసియైనది the disease is cured. వారికంటెవీరు వాసి these are better than the other men. వాసికెక్కు vāsi-ekku. v. n. To rise to celebrity, become great, obtain eminence, attain superiority, ప్రసిద్ధినిపొందు 'లోకమువారు మెచ్చగా వన్నెకువాసికెక్కి.' T. ii. 38. 'నీ యుపకారము ముజ్జగంబులన్ వాసికి నెక్కి.' Anirudh. iii. 59. వాసీగా vāsi-gā. adv. Well, properly, fully. చక్కగా. 'కాశీమహిమము మీచేవాసిగవిని సంశయముల నాసితిమిక నీదాసులము.' P. iv. 262. వాసిచేయు vāsi-chēyu. v. a. (p. 1164) vikalamu vikalamu. [Skt.] adj. Defective, imperfect, mutilated. Decayed, impaired. Confused, agitated, Withered, waning. విచ్ఛిన్నమైన, భగ్నమైన, చెడిన, కలుషమైన. 'అక్కురువృద్ధు జూడనార్తివికలుగుచు.' M. XV. i. 166. వికలత్వము or వికలత vikalatvamu. n. Confusion, agitation, decay. కలుషత్వము, శైథిల్యము. 'లావరియిప్పుడంగవికలత్వము పాటిలి.' P. i. 499. వికలాంగుడు vikal-ānguḍu. n. A cripple, one who is deformed or maimed. అంగహీనుడు. 'ఇట్లువికలాంగుండై పుట్టిన యనూరుండు.' M. I. ii. 8. వికిలితము vikalitamu. adj.
