(p. 189) eppuḍu ep-puḍu. [Tel. ఏ+పొద్దు] adv. When. ఏకాలము; ఎప్పటి of what time. ఎప్పటికి at what time, at any time, for ever. ఎప్పటికిని ever, at all times, always. ఎప్పటికైనా at any time. ఎప్పటివలె as usual. ఎప్పటిపని the usual employment. ఎప్పుడెప్పుడని కాచుకొనియుండినాడు he waited impatiently. ఎప్పుడో some time or other, I know not when.

(p. 191) erra erra. [Tel.] n. An earthworm. Any bait used in fishing. ఎర. గాలమునకు ఎర్ర వచ్చినట్టే లొంగియుండినాడు he was as submissive as a worm in the hook.

(p. 765) puṭṭa puṭṭa. [Tel.] n. An ant hill, వల్మీకము. పాముపుట్ట an ant hill in which a snake lives. నాగులచవితికి పుట్టలో పాలుపోయుదురు they pour milk in a snake's hole on the feastday called Nāgula Ṭsaviti. A pack, number, collection, lot heap, crowd. ఆ యిల్లు చీమలపుట్టగా నున్నది the house is a regular ant's nest. ఆ పుస్తకము అబద్ధాలపుట్టగానున్నది that book is a pack of lies. వాని ఒళ్లు వట్టినరములపుట్ట he is mere skin and bone. పుట్టకాపు or పుట్టకూడుదిండి puṭṭa-kāpu. n. Lit: That which feeds on ant hills, i.e., a bear, ఎలుగుగొడ్డు. పుట్టకాలు puṭṭa-kālu. n. A leg swollen with elephantiasis, బూరకాలు, ఏనుగుకాలు. 'పుట్టకాల్ సొట్టవ్రేల్ వట్టివ్రేలుంజెవుల్.' Jagan. i. 54. పుట్టకాలివాడు one who is afflicted with elephantiasis in the leg. పుట్టకుడు puṭṭa-kūḍu. n. The heart of an ant hill, the red earth that contains the eggs. A fungus. కుక్కగొడుగు. 'వ పొట్టకైపుట్టకూటికిం జీమలకుం జెదలునకు నెలుంగులు గలుగులం బుట్టలు నిశితనిజ నఖరకులిశ కోటులంగోరాడ.' Swa. iv. 49. పుట్టకొక్కు, పుట్టగొడుగు or పుట్టచేర్పు puṭṭa-kokku. n. A mushroom, toadstool, fungus. M. XII. v. 418. పుట్టకోట puṭṭa-kōta. n. A bulwark, a buttress. కోటకు కోటబైట వేసిన మట్టితిన్నె. పుట్టకోవలు the pointed tops of ant hills, పుట్టమీదిశిఖరములు. పుట్టగోచి puṭṭa-gōchi. n. A large modesty piece. పెద్దగోచి, కాపీనము. పుట్టచిలుక puṭṭa-chiluka. n. The Sirkeer Cuckoo. Taccocua leschnenaultii, (F.B.I.) పుట్టచూలు or పుట్టపుట్టువు puṭṭa-ṭsūlu. n. He who was 'born of an ant hill.' This is a word translated from the Sanscrit name వాల్మీకి. Vālmīki. పుట్టతమ్మచెట్టు puṭṭa-tamma-cheṭṭu. n. A large creeping plant, the fruit of which is used medicinally. పుట్టతేనె puṭṭa-tēne. n. Honey found in an ant-hill. పుట్టతేలు puṭṭa-tēlu. n. The large black scorpion, so called because found in rubbish. మరిడ్రగబ్బ. పుట్టముంగి puṭṭa-mungi. n. Lit: A mongoose on an ant hill, used as a type of composure. adj. Demure. అది తిట్టుచుండగా పుట్టముంగివలె మారకయుండినాడు she reviled him but he stood stock still. పుట్టలమ్మ puṭṭal-amma. n. A village goddess.

(p. 996) mukhamu mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The mouth, నోరు. The face, countenance, మొగము. The commencement, ఆరంభము. The front, ముందటిభాగము. The external appearance, the look of the face, ముఖవిలాసము. నిశాముఖము nightfall, evening. సేనాముఖము the front of the army. నఖముఖములు the points of the nails. ముఖమిచ్చు to indulge. అతడు వారితో ముఖమిచ్చి మాట్లాడలేదు he did not speak with them as a friend. 'బల్దూరంబైన శ్మశానవాటి ముఖమాలోకింపగన్.' Bilh. iii. 25. అధోముఖుడుగానుండినాడు he was hanging with his head down. ఆ దివిటీని అధోముఖముగాపట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flaming end downwards. 'అనుఘకథాముఖంబున హితాహిత బోధమొనర్తురింపుగా.' Mand. i. 8. టీ కాథా ముఖంబున by means of a story, కథచేతను అర్ధముఖము the profile or half face. తమరు రామునిముఖముచూచి నన్ను రక్షింపవలసినది I pray that for the sake of Rama you will relieve me. పడమటిముఖముగా towards the west. పడమటిముఖముగా నుండే యిల్లు a house facing the west. ఆడదానిముఖమెరుగనివాడు a youth that as yet knows not the face of a woman, i.e., entirely chaste. అందరును ఏకముఖముగా నుండలేదుగనుక as they were not unanimous or were not all of one mind. 'బాణకృపాణముఖాస్త్ర శస్త్రములు,' M. VII. ii. 275; arrows, swords, and other weapons. ముఖముమాడ్చుకొనినాడు he looked sulky or angry. వానికి ముఖము చచ్చినది he turned pale, he looked blank or ashamed. ముఖదాక్షిణ్యము complaisance. వానిముఖములో ఈగ ఆడలేదు he was all in a pucker. ఆ రూకలను వాని ముఖముమిద పారవేయుము fling the money at his face. అది వానికి ముఖపాఠముగానున్నది he has got it by heart. వాడు ముఖప్రితి మాటలాడును he talks plausibly. ముఖమెరుగనివాడు a stranger. ముఖమెరుగనిదేశము a strange land, a land where one has no acquaintance. ముఖవాసికలవాడు he is a winning man. వానికి ముఖవశ్యముకద్దు he is a very taking man. ముఖము తప్పించుకొనిపోయినాడు he has absconded or disappeared. ముఖస్తుతి flattery. ముఖస్తుతిచేయు to flatter. వాని కాశ్లోకము ముఖస్థముగానున్నది he knows the verse by heart. ముఖద్వారము mukhadvāramu. n. The mouth. నోరు. నదీముఖద్వారము the mouth of a river. ముఖపట్ట or మొగపట్టా mukha-paṭṭa. n. The headstall of a horse, గుర్రము యొక్క ముఖమునకువేసే తోలుపట్టా. ముఖమంటపము mukha-manṭapamu. n. The porch or pillared entrance of a Hindu temple. మందరిమండపము. ముఖవచనము mukha-vachanamu. n. Verbal communication, word of mouth. నోటిమాట. ముఖవస్త్రము mukha-vastramu. n. A veil. A pall, ప్రేతవస్త్రము. ముఖశాల or మొగసాల mukha-sāla. n. A hall at the entrance of a house, an antechamber, తల వాకిటిచావడి. ముఖాంతరముగా mukh-āntaramu-gā. adv. By means of, through, ద్వారా. నా తమ్ముని ముఖాంతరముగా పంపించినాను I sent it by my brother. ముఖాముఖి mukhā-mukhi. adv. Face to face. ఎదురెదురుగా. 'వినుముఖాముఖిబల్కెద.' T. iii. 84. ముఖుడు mukhudu. n. A word used in compounds, thus అధోముఖుడై hanging with his face down. సుముఖుడుగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke graciously. దుర్ముఖుడైయుండినాడు he was cross. పరాఙ్ముఖుడైయుండెను he turned his face away.

(p. 1160) vāsamu vāsamu. [Skt.] n. A house, habitation, abode, dwelling, residence. గృహము. ఆయన మమ్మును తన గర్భవాసములో పెట్టుకొనియుండినాడు he kept us in his bosom, i.e., we were in his protection. వాని గర్భవాసములో పుట్టినాడు the son of his own body, his son. 'కోసలోత్తరాది వాససతులు.' Kala. i. 152. వాసము or వాసస్సు n. A cloth: clothes. వస్త్రము. వాసకము vāsakamu. n. A house, ఇల్లు. నాసగృహము vāsa-gṛihamu. n. A bed chamber, పడకయిల్లు.

(p. 1315) savyamu savyamu. [Skt.] adj. Left, left hand. వామము, ఎడమ. అపసవ్యము the right. సవ్యకరము the left hand. ౛ందెమును సవ్యముగా వేసుకొని యుండినాడు he wore the Brahminical thread on the proper shoulder, i.e., the left shoulder. ౛ందెమును అపసవ్యముగా వేసుకొని యుండినాడు he wore the thread on the wrong shoulder i.e., the right shoulder. నక్తమచరుండుదంచితగతి సవ్యదిశకొత్తతరుమనపసవ్యగతింజాళెంబునహయంబు బోనిచ్చుచు.' Swa. iv. 159. 'నీరుకావులు కట్టినీళ్లదర్బలచేత సవ్యాపసవ్యతల్ చల్లువారు.' Rama Stava. Raj. ii. 74. సవ్యముగా savyamu-gā. adv. Towards the left hand. ఎడముగా. సవ్యసాచి savya-sāchi. n.
