(p. 258) kaliyugamu kali-yugamu. [Skt.] n. The kali age, i.e. Modern times beginning from the Deluge. The present or Iron age. ఈ కలియుగమున in these hard times.

(p. 306) kṛtamu kṛitamu. [Skt.] n. An act, a thing done. చేయబడ్డది. దైవకృతము an act of God. కృతము or కృతయుగము kṛitamu. n. The golden age, the first of the four ages of the world. supposed to consist of 1,728,000 years. కృతము kṛitamu. adj., Done , made, accomplished. కృతకృత్యుడు he who has attained his desire. ఇష్టార్థసిద్ధి గలవాడు. కృతాంజలి he who assumes with folded hands a reverential posture before his superiors. అంజలిబంధముకలవాడు. కృతాకృత done and not done. కృతస్నానయై having bathed. కృతమతి a prepared mind or set heart. adv. Ingratitude. కృతఘ్నుడు an ungrateful man చేసినమేలు మరచినవాడు. కృతజ్ఞుడు kṛitagnyuḍu [from జ్ఞ to know, to recognise.] n. A grateful person. చేసిన మేలు తలచువాడు. కృతజ్ఞత kṛitagnyata. n. Gratitude. కృతపడు kṛita-paḍu. n. To be done or made. గతించు. 'దేవావినుమువగ చినంగృత పడిన కార్యంబులు క్రమ్మరంబొడమునే, డెందంబుగుందు నింతియకాక.' M. VIII. i. 232. (p. 953) manuvu manuvu. [Skt.] n. A mystical verse or formula. మంత్రము. A legislator and saint called Manu. There are said to be fourteen of these Manus, viz., స్వాయంభువు, స్వారోచిషుడు, ఉత్తముడు, తామసుడు, రైవతుడు, చాక్షషుడు, వైవస్వతుడు, సూర్యసావర్ణి, దక్షసావర్ణి, బ్రహ్మసావర్ణి, ధర్మసావర్ణి, రుద్రపావర్ణి, రౌచ్యుడు, భౌచ్యుడు. మనుజుడు or మనుష్యుడు manujudu. n. A man, a human being. మనుజాశనుడు manuj-āṣanuḍu. n. Lit. An eater of men, i.e., a demon, రాక్షసుడు. మనుజేంద్రుడు manuj-ēndruḍu. n. A king, రా౛ు. మన్వంతరము manv-antaramu. n. An age or period of time supposed to be under the sway of one Manu, ఏకసప్తతిదివ్యయుగములు, మనుకాల మధ్యచరిత్రము. (Vulgarly) Time, a rule, reign; thus చందులాలు మన్వంతరములో or హయాములో in the time of Chandulala a former governor of Hyderabad. అతని మనవ్వంతరముతీరినది his days are ended.

Exceedingly, vastly, excessively, much, very abundantly, frequently. మహాచెడ్డ very bad. మహామంచి very good. ఉప్పు మహావేసినావు you have put too much salt. మహా అరిచినాడు he roared out loud. మహా వచ్చినారు they have come in great numbers. ఏటిలో నీళ్లు మహాపారుచున్నవి the water flows abundantly in the river. మహాంగము mah-āngamu. n. All time is divided into four ages, named the Kṛita, Trēata, Dvāpara and Kali Ages, corresponding with the Golden, Silver, Brazen and Iron Ages. యుగరీతి the fashion of the day. ఈ కలియుగమునందు in this Iron Age. యుగళము, యుగళి or యుగ్మము yugaḷamu. n. (p. 1280) samprāptamu sam-prāptamu. [Skt.] adj. Attained, obtained, gained, become arrived, come. పొందబడిన, వచ్చిన, సంభవించిన, కలిగిన, లభించిన. కలియుగము సంప్రాప్తమైన మీదట after the beginning of the Iron Age.

(p. 1291) sat sat. [Skt.] adj. True, good, virtuous. Excellent, venerable, respectable, pure, holy. యథార్థమైన, ఘనమైన, మంచి, పావనమైన. One verse says 'చదువనివాడజ్ఞుండగు చదివినసదసద్వివేక చతురతగలుగున్.' సత్కర్మము or సత్కార్యము a good deed. అపత్ not good, evil. సత్కవి a good poet, మంచి కావ్యకర్త. సత్పాత్రము worthy, deserving, fit. యోగ్యమైన, అర్హమైన. సత్పాత్రుడు one who is worthy, deserving or fit, అర్హుడు, తగినవాడు. సత్పురుషుడు a good man, మంచివాడు, సత్పథము a good way, మంచిదోవ. The final letter undergoes the usual phonetic changes when the word is used in composition: e.g. సన్మార్గము a good way, సమ్మనీంద్రుడు a holy sage; &c. సచ్చరితుడు a virtuous, honest or upright man, మంచి నడతగలవాడు. సచ్చిదానందము God, as the fountain of being, intelligence, and happiness: lit. 'it that is good, wise, and happy.' నిత్య జ్ఞానానంద స్వరూపపరబ్రహ్మము. సచ్ఛుద్రుడు a pious Sudra, సదాచారముగల శూద్రుడు. సజ్జనత్వము magnanimity, goodness, సభ్యత్వము. సజ్ఞనుడు a respectable man, a good man, సభ్యుడు. సదునష్ఠానము a good practice, సదాచారము. సదమలము pure, spotless, నిర్మలము. సదాచారము virtuous conduct, correct deportment, మంచినడత, సదాచారి a virtuous man. సదాచారులు the wise, the good. సదుత్తరము a proper answer or reply, ప్రతివాక్యము సదుపాయము an excellent means, a good expedient, మంచిసాధనము. సద్గతి beatitude, salvation, future bliss, ముక్తి. Swa. ii. 80. సద్గుణము virtue, a good quality, సుశీలము. సద్భక్తి true religion, zeal strong faith, fidelity, పూజ్యులయందలి మిక్కిలి అనురాగము. సద్భావము goodness, kindness, politeness, విద్యమానత, దయశిష్టాచారము. సద్వినయము true humility, మంచినమ్రత. సద్వ్యాపారము good behaviour, good conduct, మంచివృత్తి. సద్వ్యాసంగము love of good acts, మంచియిచ్ఛ, సున్నుతము praised, applauded, commended, స్తోత్రము చేయబడ్డ, కొనియాబడ్డ. సన్నుతి sincere praise, commendation, laud. చక్కనిస్తుతి, స్తోత్రము. సన్నుతించు to praise, applaud, commend, చక్కగా స్తోత్రముచేయు, మెచ్చుకొను. సన్మహత్త్వము greatness, urbanity, గొప్పతనము, శ్రేష్ఠత. Chenn. ii. 77. సన్మార్గము good or virtuous conduct, మంచినడత. సన్మార్గి or సన్మార్గుడు one of virtuous conduct, one who behaves well, మంచినడతగలవాడు. 'సన్మార్గికి కలియుగమున సౌఖ్యముగలదే.' G. v. 69. సమ్మని or సమ్మనీంద్రుడు a venerable sage or hermit మహర్షి. M. I. i. 173.

(p. 1292) satyamu satyamu. [Skt.] n. Truth, veracity, reality. ని౛ము, యథార్థము. An oath, ప్రమాణము, ఒట్టు. (Vulgarly,) the miraculous power of a deity. (పామరలవాడుకలో) మహాత్మ్యము. adj. True, real, sincere, genuine, truthful. యథార్థమైన, ని౛మైన. సత్యప్రవర్తన truthful behaviour, upright conduct. adv. Yes, verily, truly, indeed, నిజమేను. సత్యముగా చెప్పు to avow, to vouch for. సత్యముచేయు to swear. ఈ అమ్మవారు బహుసత్యము కలిగినదేవత this is a true goddess. భగవత్స్వరూపముల యందు సత్యము తప్పినది the gods have now lost their power, the images now ceased to work miracles. సత్యప్రతిజ్ఞ a sincere promise or vow, తప్పనిమాట. సత్యయుగము satya-yugamu. n. The Golden Age. కృతయుగము. సత్యలోకము satya-lōkamu. n. One of the fourteen heavens of the Puranas. సత్యవంతుడు satya-vantuḍu. n. A truthful or sincere man. సత్యవచస్కుడు or సత్యవాది satya-vachaskuḍu. n. One who speaks the truth, a man of veracity. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యవతి satya-vati. n. A truthful woman. సత్యముగల స్త్రీ. The name of the mother of Vyāsa, and the wife of Narada. సత్యవాక్కు or సత్యవాణి satya-vākku. n. A true statement. సత్యవ్రతుడు satya-vratuḍu. n. One who is devoted to truth, one who is sincere or honest. నిజానికి పాటుపడేవాడు, పెద్దమనిషి. సత్యసంధుడు satya-sandhuḍu. n. An upright man. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యహరిశ్చంద్రుడు one who is as truthful as Harischandra, i.e., a very truthful man, (sometimes used ironically also to mean a liar.) సత్యాకృతి, సత్యంకారము or సత్యావనము saty-ākṛiti. n. The ratification of a bargain, an advance of money, earnest money, క్రయవిక్రయములు గట్టిమాట, బయానా, ౛ట్టి. సత్యానృతము saty-ānṛitamu. n. Commerce, trade, traffic. వాణిజ్యము, వర్తకము.

(p. 1329) sāṣṭāṅgamu s-āshṭ-āngamu. [Skt.] n. Prostrate adoration. Literally, touching the ground with (ప) the eight (అష్ట) limbs (అంగ), i.e., the hands, knees, shoulders, breast and forehead. సాగిలబడి దండము పెట్టడము. సాష్టాంగదండ ప్రణామముచేయు to do homage. సష్టాంగదండము or సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారము prostrate homage. 'కరయుగములు చరణంబులు, నురములలాటస్థంబు నున్నతభుజముల్. సరిధరణిమోపిమ్రొక్కిన, బరువడిసాష్టాంగమండ్రు పరమమునీంద్రుల్. '
