(p. 127) āvurumanu āvuru-m-anu. [Tel.] v. n. To weep; literally, to cry 'Alas;' ఆవురుమని యేడ్చె she wept bitterly.

(p. 192) elugu or ఎలుంగు elugu. [Tel.] n. A voice, cry, note, sound. కంషస్వరము, కూత. ఎలుగెత్తి యేడ్చెను she raised her voice and wept. ఎలుగించు eluginṭsu. v. n. To cry. కూయు. Vasu. ii. 28. ఎలుగు or ఎలుగుగొడ్డు or ఎలుగుబంటి or ఎలుగుమంటి elugu. n. A bear. ఎలుగులు bears.

(p. 197) ēḍupu or ఏడ్పు ēḍupu. [Tel. from ఏడ్చు] n. Weeping, complaint, grievance. Longing, strong desire, or bent of mind. నీయేడుపు నీవు చెప్పు tell your tale yourself. ఎవడి యేడుపు వాడు ఏడుస్తాడు every man knows his own troubles. ఇది వారికి ఒకటే యేడ్పు this is what they have set their hearts on.

(p. 200) ēmi or ఏమీ ēmi. [Tel.] pron. What. నాదగ్గిర యేమిన్ని లేదు. I have nothing with me. వాడు ఏమయినాడు what has become of him? ఇంక చేయవలసినది మరి యేమి లేదు nothing further remains to be done. ఏమైనా ఉండును there may be something. నేనిక్కడ ఉండడమువల్ల ఫలమేమి what is the good of my staying here? సోమ్ము ఏమిన్ని పోలేదు nothing has been lost. ఏమికతంబున (i.e. ఎందునిమిత్తము) for what reason. వాడేమి నేనేమి అంతా ఒక్కటే either he or I, there is no difference. వచ్చినాడా యేమి has he come? నా తండ్రియేమి నేనేమి both my father and I, my father as well as I. ఎవ్వడైనానేమి no matter who it is. అదియేమి యిదియేమి either this or that. ఆ యిల్లు మీకు చాలకయేమి what do you mean by saying the house is too small for you? వాడు రాకయేమి why should he not come? surely, he will? ఏమివచ్చినావు what have you come for? కుక్క యేమి మొరుగుచున్నది how the dog barks! వాడు ఏమిన్ని యేడవలేదు he did not weep at all. ఏమిటి ēmiṭi. pron. & adj. What, of which, what kind of. అదేమిటి what's that? ఏమిటో I don't know what that is వాడు ఏమిటివాడు of what caste is he? ఏమిటికి wherefore, for what reason. ఏమిటికో I know not why. ఏమిన్ని anything whatever. ఏమిన్ని యివ్వడు he will give nothing. ఏమొ or ఏమో ēmo. (ఏమి with ō added for doubt.) I know not what. రాలేదేమో perhaps they did not come.

(p. 276) kārte kārte. [Tel.] n. The particular constellation out of the 27, in which the Sun happens to be. ఇరువైయేడు కార్తెలు అనగా అశ్విని మొదలైన నక్షత్రములలో సూర్యుడు ఉండే దినాలు.

(p. 296) kummara kummara. [Tel.] n. The potter's caste. కుండలుచేసి జీవించెడు జాతి. adj. Black. నలుపు. కుమ్మరగువ్వ. kummara-guvva. n. A wagtail. కుమ్మరత or కుమ్మరది kummarata. n. A woman of the potter caste. కుమ్మర పురుగు kummara-purugu. n. A beetle. కుమ్మరసాన, or కుమ్మరసారె kummara-sāna n. A potter's wheel. కుమ్మరసారె చుక్క kummara-sārc-ṭsukka. n. (p. 334) kriñcu krinṭsu. [Tel.] adj. Vile. అల్పమైన, నీచమైన, క్షుద్రమైన. క్రించుదనము or కించుదనము krinṭsu-danamu. n. Baseness. నీచత్వము, అల్పత్వము. Spite, cruelty. 'క క్రించుదనంబునవిధిదము వంచించినయేడుగోపవరనందనులొ క్కించుక కాలంబుగ వీక్రించి రాజేంద్ర బాలకృష్ణుని నిమాయన్.' B. X.

(p. 352) gaḍiya gaḍiya. [Tel.] n. A bolt or bar. గడెమ్రాను. గడియజేయు to bolt or fasten a bolt. గడియకన్నము a hole bored by a thief, through which he puts his hand to draw back the bolt. గడియ or ఘడియ n. A Hindu hour which consists of twenty four English minutes, and thus forms the sixtieth part of a day. గడియకు ఒక మాట చెప్పెను he changed his opinion hourly. గడియ యేడైయుండగా each hour seemed a year. గడియారము gaḍiyā-ramu. n. A clock, originally a cup for measuring the hours by sinking in water. జేబుగడియారము a watch.

(p. 391) gōḍu gōḍu. [Tel.] n. Grief. గోడుగోడని Crying Alas! Alas! గోపన్నగోడు a pack of troubles. అడనేరక మద్దెలగోడుపోసికొనెను she who cannot dance cries out on the fiddler. గోడుకూత gōḍu-kūta. n.
