(p. 570) tribhaṅgi tri-bhangi. adj. 'Three ways' twisted. The name of a certain graceful attitude in which some statues stand: such as the వేణుగోపాల or Piping Apollo; or that given to the ద్వారపాలకులు or door keepers carved on each side of a temple gate. The word frequently occurs in books on sculpture (Silpi) and in some poems, but is no where precisely defined. త్రిభంగిన్, three fold: in three ways. మూడువిధములవునట్టుగాను Swa. iii. 76. త్రిభాగము tri-bhāgamu. adj. Divided into three parts or shares. త్రిభువనము or త్రిలోకము tri-bhuvanamu. n. The three worlds: heaven, earth, and hell, i.e., the universe. త్రిమూర్తి tri-mūrti. n. The Hindu Triad, consisting of Bramha, Vishnu, and Siva. త్రియామ tri-yāma. n. Night. M. VII. v. 317. త్రిరాత్రము tri-rātramu. n. Three nights, మూడురాత్రులు. త్రిలింగము tri-lingamu. adj. 'Three gendered.' -a phrase for Sanskrit nouns of the common gender. 'Three formed.' 'త్రిమూర్తుల త్రిలింగవ్యక్తులన్.' B. vii. 333. Also a fictitous or fanciful name (యౌగికపదము) used for the Telugu language. It is peculiar to Appa Cavi, and a few other modern writers, but is not mentioned in any ancient or classical poet: nor in any Sanskrit Dictionary, in lists of the 'fifty six countries.' See W. Vish. Pur. p. 193. In some modern lists Troilinga is named, but without any authority. త్రివర్గము a collection of three (things) as Duty (ధర్మము,) Wealth (అర్థము,) and Desire (కామము) or the Gunas called సత్వరజస్తమములు, or the states called Increase (వృద్ధి), Decrease (క్షయము), and Stationariness (స్థానము.) త్రివళి tri-vali. n. A threefold corrugation on the stomach considered a beauty in women. 'లితకృశోదరంబు తరశత్రివళీయుత రోమరాజియున్.' M. I. iv. 49. త్రివిక్రముడు tri-vikramuḍu. n. He who subjugated the three worlds in three strides, i.e., Vishnu. త్రివిష్టవము tri-vishtapamu. n. Heaven. స్వర్గము. త్రివేణి tri-vēṇi. n. Lit: The Triple braided, an epithet of the Ganges which according to mythology, springs in three streams from the head of Siva. త్రివేణుక or త్రివేణువు tri-vēṇuka. n. The bands of a carriage pole. నొగకట్లు. T. v. 16. M. VII. i. 302. త్రిశంకువు tri-ṣankuvu. n. Name of the father of the hero Harischandra. త్రిశంకుస్వర్గము the Aerial regions, the place of happiness created for త్రిశంకు who could not be admitted into heaven on account of his low origin. త్రిశూలము tri-ṣālamu. n. The three pronged weapon of Vishnu. త్రిషవణము tri-sharvaṇamu. n. The three ablutions, to be performed at morn, noon and night. M. XII. iv. 102. త్రిషవణస్నాయి he who bathes thrice a day. త్రిసప్త tri-sapta. adj. Thrice seven. BRY. iii. 19. త్తిసంధ్యము tri-sandhyamu. n. The meeting times of forenoon, the noon and the afternoon. పూర్వాహ్న మధ్యాహ్న అపరాహ్న సంధ్యలు.

(p. 585) dasarā dasarā [from Skt. దశ ten+రా = రాత్రులు nights.] n. The name of a feast called విజయదశమి in the month ఆశ్వయుజ (October.) It is the close of the నవరాత్రి anniversary.

(p. 692) pakṣamu pakshamu. [Skt.] n. A side, flank. పక్క. A wing, as being the side of a bird. రెక్క. The feather of an arrow. A side or party. Bias of mind, partiality. A fortnight, as one half of the month. An argument, position or assertion. A hypothesis. పూర్వపక్షము a refutation. A class, or tribe. A group or multitude, సమూహము. కేశపక్షము a lock of hair. అతని పక్షమున on his behalf, behoof or favour. ఆ పక్షమందు in that case, on that supposition, supposing so, provided it be so. ఇట్లుచెప్పే పక్షమందు if he says so, upon his saying this. మొదటిపక్షమందు on the first supposition. పక్షకము pakshakamu. n. A back door. దిడ్డివాకిలి. పక్షతి pakshati. n. The first lunar day of either the dark or bright fortnight, పాడ్యమి. The root of a wing, రెక్క మొదలు, పక్షద్వారము pakshadvāramu. n. A back door, a side door. దిడ్డివాకిలి. పక్షపాతము paksha-pātamu. n. Leaning to one side, i.e., partiality. ఒక పక్క కొరుగుట. అక్షరపక్షపాతము love of learning. పక్షపాతి paksha-pāti. n. One who is partial. పక్షాంతరము pakshāntaramu. n. An alternative. ఈ పక్షము కూడనందున పక్షాంతరము చెప్పెదను this view of the question or hypothesis not answering, I shall explain the alternative or the other side. వాడు పక్షాంతరమును అవలంబించినారు they adopted another view. పక్షి pakshi. n. A bird. A poor wretch. A miserable destitute object. పక్షులు poor wretches. నేను పక్షివంటివాడను or నేనొక పక్షిని I am as helpless or desolate as a homeless bird. పక్షిణి pakshiṇi. n. A period of thirty six hours, a night and two days. రెండుపగళ్లు నొకరాత్రియు, లేక, రెండురాత్రులు నొకపగలునుగలకాలము. పక్షీకరించు pakshi-karinṭsu. v. a. To be partial to, to countenance. పక్షముంచు. పక్ష్మము pakshmamu. n. An eyelash. రెప్పవెండ్రుక. పక్ష్మలము pakshmalamu. adj. having eyelashes, రెప్పవెండ్రుకలుకల. పక్ష్మలించు pakshmalinṭsu. v. n. To wink, రెప్పజేయు.

(p. 883) biṭṭu biṭṭu. [Tel.] n. Excess. A great action. హెచ్చు, అధికము. Firmness, tightness, దృఢత్వము. 'నిన్నుపట్టెదమనిచలముగొనిన పట్టుటబిట్టా.' B. X. 359. బిట్టు or బిట్టుగా biṭṭu. adv. (p. 1074) rātri rātri. [Skt.] n. Night. As an adverb, at night. This means to night or last night according as the verb is past or future. రాత్రివచ్చిరి they came last night. రాత్రివెళ్లుతాడు he goes to night. అర్ధరాత్రి midnight. రాత్రియిల్లుచొచ్చచి entering the house at night. 'రాత్రి కాదిదికాలరాత్రి కాబోలు' (Dab. 206.) this is not night but the shadow of death. Plural రాత్రులు or (vulgurly) రాత్రిళ్లు. రాత్రించరుడు or రాత్రిచరుడు rātrin-charuḍu. n. A night wanderer, i.e., a goblin or fiend. రాక్షసుడు, దయ్యము. A thief, a patrol, దొంగ, రాత్రిళ్ల నగరశోధనచేయు తలారివాడు. రాత్రింబగళ్లు rātrim-bagaḷḷu. n. Night and day. అహర్నిశము, రరేయిబగలు. రాతిరి Same as రాత్రి. 'పగలురాతిరి రాతిరి బగలుజేసె.' A. iv. 146. రాత్రము rātramu. n. Night. A word only used in compounds as త్రిరాత్రము three whole days. అర్ధరాత్రము midnight. అహోరాత్రము a day and night, i.e., a whole day.
