(p. 28) accu aṭṭsu. n. A stamp, a form for printing or for any other impression, a type, a printing press. An axle-tree. A mould. The handle of a handmill, A weaver's reed or stay. An image, or picture. ప్రతి రూపమును కల్పించేటిది, ఇరుసుమాను, తిరగటి పిడి, బట్ట వేసేటందుకు సాధనమైనది, ప్రతిబింబము. పోత అచ్చు the mould wherein clay or metal is cast. ఇటికె అచ్చు the box or mould used in making bricks. అచ్చక్షరములు printed letters. అచ్చువేయు to print. ఇంకా అచ్చువేయని unprinted, unpublished.అచ్చువేసేవాడు a printer. అక్షరాల అచ్చులు types of letters. బెల్లపు అచ్చు a square mould into which boiled treacle is poured, and thus formed into cakes. అచ్చుబెల్లము a lump of jaggery, అచ్చొత్తు to seal, impress with a mark, to print అచ్చుకూటము (a Madras word,) A printing press office ముద్రాశాల. అచ్చుబల్ల the frame on which a weaver's reed is fixed. అచ్చువేసినయెద్దు a 'brahminy' bull that is marked or stamped and is allowed to wander at large, as consecrated to the deity. అచ్చుకట్టు or అచ్చుకట్టువేయు v. a. To prepare land for wet cultivation by throwing up banks to divide it into plots, partitions or beds. మళ్లుగా ఏర్పరచు అచ్చుకట్టించినమడి or అచ్చుకట్టు పొలము a field which is divided into beds for wet cultivation. అచ్చులపోయు to find yarn on the frame for weaving (Cuddapa.) అచ్చుగా aṭṭsu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Precisely, exactly, clearly, evidently. 'పిచ్చుకపై బ్రహ్మాస్తము నచ్చుగ దొడిగినవితాన.' T. iv. 22.

(p. 50) anahaṅkāramu an-ākāramu. [Skt.] adj. Deformed, ugly. వికారమైన, కురూపియైన. అనాకారము n. Deformity, ugliness. వికారము, కురూపము. అనాకారి n. An ugly person కురూపి.

(p. 57) anurūpamu anu-rūpamu. [Skt.] adj. Like, resembling, fit, suitable, corresponding with. సమానమైన, తగిన.

(p. 62) aparūpamu apa-rūpamu. [Skt.] adj. Ugly. deformed. Rare, scarce, uncommon. వికృతాకారము, వికారము, (వాడుకగా) వింతైన, అరుదైన.

(p. 82) arudu adj. Rare; scarce; uncommon. Dear. Excellent. అపురూపమైన అరుదుగా arudu-gā. adv. Rarely, scarcely, seldom. అపురూపముగా. అరుదందు arudandu. v. n. To be surprised, be astonished, to wonder. ఆశ్చర్యపడు. అరుదార or అరుదారన్ arudāra. adv. Duly, well ఒప్పుగా. 'మీరరుదారం జెప్పుడనిన.' P. iv. 347.

(p. 87) alazaḍi alazaḍi. [Tel.] n. Trouble, misfortune. ఆపద. Grief, affliction, sorrow. దుఃఖము, మనోదుఃఖరూపమైన విచారము. (p. 100) aṣṭa ashṭa [Skt. cf. Eng. 'Eight,' Lat. Octo.] adj. Eight.--అష్టకష్టములు The eight unpleasant circumstances liable to occur in the course of life. [Viz. దేశాంతర గమనము foreign travel, భార్యావియోగము separation from one's wife. కష్టకాలములో ప్రియబంధుదర్శనము friends and relations arriving in the time of trouble, ఎంగిలితినడము eating the leavings of others, తన, శత్రువులతో స్నేహము చేయడము courting one's enemies, పరాన్నమునకు కాచియుండడము looking for food from strangers, సభలో అప్రతిష్ఠవచ్చుట being ignorant in an assembly of wise men, దరిద్రమనుభవించడము suffering poverty.] అష్టకోణి an octagon, అష్టదిక్కులు the eight points of the compass.--అష్టదిక్పాలకులు the regents of the eight points of the compass, viz. Indra of the East, Agni of the South-east, Yama of the South, Nairriti of the South-west, Varuṇa of the West, Marut of the North-west, Kubēra of the North, and Iṣana of the South-east.--అష్టదిగ్గజములు the elephants supporting the eight corners of the earth-అష్టనగములు the eight serpents supporting the eight angles or points of the world. Their names are as follow: వాసుకి, అనంతుడు, తక్షకుడు, శంఖపాలుడు, కుళికుడు, పద్ముడు, మహాపద్ముడు, కార్కోటకుడు. అష్టవదులు a certain set of songs of eight lines in length.-అష్టపాత్రములు the eight vessels used in a sacrifice.--అష్టభాగ్యములు the eight requisites to the regal state; as రాజ్యము territory, భండారము wealth, సేన్యము an army, ఏనుగులు elephants, గుర్రములు horses, ఛత్రము an umbrella, చామరము a fly fan or whisk, ఆందోళిక a palanquin.--అష్టభోగములు the eight sources of pleasure, viz., ఇల్లు house, పరుపు bed,వస్త్రము raiment, అభరణము jewels, స్త్రీలు women, పుష్పము, flowers, గంధము perfume, తాంబూలము areca nuts and betel-leaves.--అష్టమదములు eight kinds of pride, viz., అన్నమదము luxury in food, అర్థమదము pride of wealth, స్త్రీమదము pride of lust, విద్యామదము pride of learning, కులమదము, pride of rank and family, రూపమదము pride of beauty, ఉద్యోగమదము pride of station, యౌవనమదము pride of youth.-- అష్టస్వామ్యములు the eight respects in which an absolute conveyance is made, viz., విక్రయ, దాన, వినిమయ, జల, తరు, పాషాణ, విధి, నిక్షేపములు -- అష్టాంగములు See under అంగము. సాష్టాంగదండము prostration in worship. -అష్టాపదము an eight legged dragon: a spider. అష్టావధానము See under అవధానము. అష్టైశ్వర్యములు complete comfort, every blessing, also eight attributes, viz., అణిమ, మహిమ, గరిమ, లఘిమ, ప్రాప్తి, ప్రాకామ్యము, ఈశత్వము, వశిత్వము.

(p. 118) āmrēḍiñcu āmrēḍinṭsu. [Skt.] v. t. To reiterate. Parij. v. 92. ఆమ్రేడితము āmrēḍitamu. adj. n. Reiterated; that which is repeated, that which is said twice. In gram. the second form of the repeated word. ద్విరుక్తము యొక్క పరరూపము.

(p. 169) uruvu or ఉర్వు uruvu. [Tel.] v. t. To get rid of. పరిహరించు. n. Form, shape. రూపము. ఉరువు adj. Great, big, large. గొప్ప. v. t. To flay. తోలు దోచుట. Also, same as ఉరుగొట్టు. టెంకాయ ఉరువుగా నుండే as large as a cocoanut. ఆ పని యింకా ఉరువు ఏర్పడ లేదు that work is as yet in embryo.

(p. 246) kamalamu kamalamu. [Skt.] n. The lotus, Nymphœa nelumboa, water-lily. తామర, ఎర్రతామర. Also, water నీరు. కమలదళము the petal of a lotus. కమలదళరూపము a rose pattern, a flower shape. కమలాకరము a tank abounding with the lotus. కమలాకారము heart shaped. కమలాప్తుడు kamal-āptuḍu. (from ఆప్త dear) n. The sun, because he is dear to the lotus, which expands as he rises. కమలాసనుడు kamal-āsanuḍu. (from ఆసన a seat.) n. The god Bramha, because the lotus is his throne. కమలాపండు kamalā-paṇḍu. [from Skt. కమలము water and Tel. పండు. lit. Juicy fruit.] n. The orange called a loose jacket. కమలలిని kamalini. n. A tank abounding with the lotus: the lotus itself.

(p. 296) kummara kummara. [Tel.] n. The potter's caste. కుండలుచేసి జీవించెడు జాతి. adj. Black. నలుపు. కుమ్మరగువ్వ. kummara-guvva. n. A wagtail. కుమ్మరత or కుమ్మరది kummarata. n. A woman of the potter caste. కుమ్మర పురుగు kummara-purugu. n. A beetle. కుమ్మరసాన, or కుమ్మరసారె kummara-sāna n. A potter's wheel. కుమ్మరసారె చుక్క kummara-sārc-ṭsukka. n. The The name on the constellation called విశాఖానక్షత్రము. కుమ్మరస్వరూపములు kummara-svarūpamulu. n. Pots and pans: articles of pottery. కుమ్మరి or కుమ్మరవాడు kummari. n. A potter. కుమ్మరికొకయేడున్ గుదెకొకపెట్టు one blow of a cudgel will ruin a potter's year's work.
