A piece of wood, shaped like a racquet used to stir boiling food, a wooden spoon, a ladle. కొయ్యగరిటె. బల్లెపు తెడ్లు spears. తెగించినవానికి తెడ్డే లింగము he is a stubborn man. తెడ్డుమూతికొంగ teḍḍu-mūti-konga. n. (p. 1041) morasu or మొరుసు morasu. [Tel.] n. Gravel, a pebble, మొరము. మొరసువనేం a gravelly soil. adj. Rugged, stubborn. మోటు. 'పాకనాటిరెడ్డి, మొరుసులందరుభువుహరువొప్పనన్నింట ప్రతిభకెక్కిరిట్లు పరగవేమ.' Vēma. 1322. 'పండమోటాటిపెడకంటి పాకనాటి యరవెలమలాదికొండారె మొరసుగోన కొణిదెకాపులుమొదలైన.' H. iv. 171.

(p. 1084) reḍḍi reḍḍi. [Tel.] n. A title annexed to the proper names of the members of the farmer caste. The head man of a village. రెడ్డిపాలవంకలు reḍḍi-pāla-vankalu. n. A sort of grain. 'మోదుగుతొడిమెలలు ముదుక సరులు, పచ్చసరుల్ రెడ్డిపాలవంకలు సుఖభోగులు పచ్చకర్పూరసరులు.' H. iv. 157. రెడ్డివారి నానబ్రాలు reḍḍi-vāri-nāna-brālu. n. A plant. Euphorbia thymifolia or E. hypersifolia. Rox. రక్తబిందుచ్ఛదము. పటుపర్ణి.

(p. 1084) reḍḍigamu reḍḍigamu. [Tel.] n. Sitting on the floor, with one knee up and a cloth round it and round the body in a knot. ఒకకాలు మడుచుకొని దానిని అంగవస్త్రముతో నడుమునకు బిగియగట్టుకొని కూర్చుండుట. రెడ్డి గమువేసికొను to sit in this posture.

(p. 1323) sāni sāni. [from Skt. స్వామిని.] n. A lady, a woman of rank. స్వామిని, అధిపురాలు, పూజ్యురాలు. A wife, భార్య. (Commonly,) a dancing girl. వేశ్య. దొరసాని or ఏలికసాని a lady or queen, రెడ్డిసాని a farmer's wife. మంత్రసాని a midwife. సానిది sānidi. n. A dancing girl, వేశ్య. సాణిచేప or సానిమొయ్య sāni-chēpa. n. A fish, a species of Labrus. Russell. సానివాండ్లు sāni-vānḍlu. n. plu. Members of the dancing caste. వ్యభిచారముచేత జీవించే స్త్రీలజాతి.

(p. 1387) hālika hālika. [Skt. from హల.] adj. Belonging to a plough, appertaining to farming, agricultural. లాంగల సంబంధమైన, కాపువారి సంబంధమైన. 'శాలివనపాలిక హాలిక బాలికామణుల్.' N. i. 42. హాలికుడు or హలికుడు hālikuḍu. n. A ploughman, a farmer, a cultivator, a husbandman. కృషికుడు, కావు, దున్నుకొని బ్రతికేవాడు, రెడ్డి. 'నదులు కూలంకషోన్నతములై ప్రవహించె, హాలికోద్యోగంబులగ్గలించె.' Pururavas Charitra. iv. 35.

(p. 1391) heggaḍi or హెగ్గడు heggaḍi. [Kan.] n. A chieftain, a headman. పెద్ద, యజమానుడు, రెడ్డి. A man who guards a harem, అంతఃపురపు కావలివాడు.' పొందుగానందలంబులు పల్లకీలు దక్షతనాయితము సేయుశైబికులును, తగువాహనముల నంతఃపురకాంతలనిడి, దిండ్లు వైపించు హెగ్గముల నంతఃపురకాంతలనిడి, దిండ్లు వైపించు హెగ్గడులును.' KP. viii. 33. హెగ్గడి, హెగ్గడికత్తె, హెగ్గడీ or హెగ్గాళి heggaḍi. n. A lady in waiting, a maid of honour, a handmaid. సైరంధ్రి, ఆడపాప, పనికత్తె. A woman who guards a harem. అంతఃపురపు కావలికత్తె. 'అతడు తెచ్చిన రత్నభూషాంబరాదులందుకొన హెగ్గడీలతో నానతిమ్ము.' Satyabha. iv. 244. హెగ్గడికాడు or హెగ్గడీడు Same as హెగ్గడి.
