(p. 29) accukonu aṭṭsu-konu. [Tel.] v. n. To pay, pay wrongfully, liquidate. దండగపెట్టు. వాడు దివాణమునకు పది రూపాయలు అచ్చుకొన్నాడు he paid ten Rupees to government. ఆ నేలకుగాను నలభైరూపాయలు అచ్చుకొనియున్నాను. I have suffered, on account of that land, a loss of forty rupees. మేము అచ్చుకొనువారము we will make it good.

(p. 51) anāyāsamu an-āyāsamu. [Skt.] adv. Without pains or effort, easily, readily, సులభముగా.

(p. 65) appaṭi appaṭi. [Tel.] Again. మరల. 'అట్లకా, కనియలభీమనాధునకు నప్పటియుం బ్రణమిల్లి వేడుకన్.' రుక్మాం. i.

(p. 67) abbu abbu. [Tel.] v. n. To come into one's enjoyment, possession, or reach; be obtained or gained. చిక్కు, దొరుకు, లభించు. ప్రాప్తించు. ఇది వీనికి అబ్బేసొమ్ము కాదు the luck is too good to last; that is, he is not worthy of such good fortune, and it will not stick by him. దీన్ని వానికి అబ్బనియ్యరు they will prevent his getting it.

(p. 68) abrahmaṇyamu a-brahmaṇyamu. [Tel.] n A deed improper to be done by a Brahmin: an unbrahminical or sacrilegious act; an exclamation meaning to the rescue! a heinous sin is about to be committed!' Crying for quarter. మొర, అవధ్యోక్తి, చంపవద్దనేమాట. 'ఈ వృక్షవాటంబులో భామా యేదపమాచరింతువిధిక బ్రహ్మణ్యముంబెట్టుచున్.' Swa. iii. 137. 'బలభిన్ముఖ్యులు పాహిపాహియని యబ్రహ్మణ్యమం బెట్టగన్.' N. ii. 490.

(p. 87) alabhyamu a-labhyamu. [Skt. from లభించు] adj. Unobtained; unobtainable; unattainable. Unexpected, casual. పొందబడని, అకస్మికమైన. అలభ్యయోగము unexpected good fortune. ఇది అలభ్యయోగముగా ప్రాప్తమాయెను this happened unexpectedly.

(p. 90) alli alli. [Tel.] n. The water plant called Nymphœa alba. అల్లికాడ is peduncle or flower stalk. అల్లిపువ్వు the flower of this water plant. ఉత్పలభేదము. ఆకాశపు అల్లి Menyanthes cristata, a water plant. అల్లి Nymphœa Lotus, a variety with a red flower. Rox. ii. 260, says. 'అల్లి is Memecylon Edule: a wild shrub, like broom, with beautiful fragrant flowers in bunches.' దాని ఒళ్లు అల్లికాడవలెనున్నది her body is like the stem of a water lily, she is very chilly. అల్లిరాగులు the fruit of the blue lotus.

(p. 92) avaṭamu avaṭamu. [Skt.] n. A hole in the ground, a cavity, a pit, a well. గొయ్యి, బొక్క, నుయ్యి. అవటువు avaṭuvu. [Skt.] n. The back of the neck. పెడతల, అనగా, మెడ వెనుకటి భాగము, ముచ్చిలిగుంట. 'ఉన్నమి తావటు విలభిహారంబుల బేరెంబులవారెనో యనన్.' Vasu. iv. 39. 'అవటుకచంబువాని.' A. vi. 23. టీ పెడ తలను మాత్రమే వెంట్రుకలు గలవానిని.

(p. 95) avalīla ava-līla [Skt.] n. Ease, facility. సులభము, చులకన. అవలీలయైన adj. Easy, facile, ready. సులభమైన. అవలీలగా ava-līla-gā. [Skt.] adv. Easily, as play, సులభముగా, చులకనగా.

(p. 144) īḍu īḍu. [Tel.] v. i. To stretch, to slip, to vanish, to disappear. సాగు, ౛ారు. v. t. To pull, to draw milk లాగు, పిదుకు. 'శ్రద్ధగలిగి లోక సంగ్రహసంగంబు నీడవిడిచియెవ్వ డీయుపాయ ములభజించువాడు మోక్షలక్ష్మీపతి యగునొకింత సందియంబు వలదు.' భార. అశ్వ. i. (p. 185) eḍāri eḍāri. [Tel.] n. A wilderness, a lonely spot. A desert చెట్లుచేమలు లేని పెద్ద నిర్జలభూమి. ఎడారిదోవ a lonely path, a bye road.

(p. 188) eddaḍi eddaḍi. [Tel.] n. Lack, want, scarcity లేమిడి. adj. Poor దరిద్రమైన. శూన్యమైన. ఎద్దడినేల a place where there is no water నిర్జలభూమి.

(p. 201) ēla ēla. [Tel.] n. A hurrah, or hoop. A carol or catch used by rowers of boats శృంగారపు పాట. 'ఏటికట్టగుడిసెవేతాం ఏరువస్తే కూడాపోదాం ఓ, ఓ, గొల్లభామా!' (The books named గరుడాచలము, ఆటభాగవతము, పారిజాతము, &c. contain many specimens of these carols.) Also, a chorus of applause. ఏలపాటలు a kind of play, a game played by children బాలక్రీడావిశేషము. (p. 256) kalabhamu kalabhamu. [Skt.] n. An elephant thirty years old.
