Arrogance, pride, ఎగసిపడుట, గర్వించుట, మండిపడుట. ఎగసిపోవు to fly up or away, to fly off. ఎగువు eguvu. n. Flying, flight ఎగురుట.

A heretic, schismatic, unbeliever, blasphemer, freethinker, or heterodox Hindu. వేదబాహ్యుడు. శివపాషండులు the intolerant sect of Saivites, or Jangams. విష్ణు పాషండులు bigoted worshippers of Vishṇu. In the ఆశ్చర్యాష్టోత్తరశతము is this verse, 'నాస్తిక, మ్లేచ్ఛ, పాషండ, బౌద్ధ, ప్రాకృత, దుర్గమం' the atheist, the foreigner, the heretic, the Buddhist, the base man and the evil-doer.

(p. 793) pella or పెళ్ల pella. [Tel.] n. A lump, clod; a chip; a flake; a raw brick. పెల్లగించు or పెళ్లగించు pella-ginṭsu. v. a. To pull out, root out, draw out. To dig up, unbury, unearth, eradicate. ఆ చెట్టును పెళ్లగించి మరియొక చోట పెట్టినాడు, లేక, పాతినాడు he took up the tree and planted it elsewhere. పెల్లగిల్లు or పెల్లగిలు pella-gillu. v. n.To come out by the roots. పాదుఊడిలేచు. To run away, పారిపోవు. వాడు అత్తవారింటినుంచి పెల్లగిలివచ్చు గతిగా నుండలేదు he seems unlikely to stir from his mother in-law's house. గాలివానకు చెట్లు కుంకటివేళ్లతో పెల్లగిలినవి the trees were torn up by the roots by the storm. ఆ గోడగార అంతా పెల్లగిలిపోయినది all the plaster of the wall came off or peeled off.

(p. 802) pokku pokku. [Tel.] v. n. To be blistered or excoriated. బొబ్బలేచు. పొక్కిన scalded. నా నోరు పొక్కినది my mouth is burn or sore. To be afraid, ఉలుకు, భయపడు. To grieve much or be afflicted. దుఃఖించు. To come off in flakes, as plaster. ఆ మాట విని పొక్కిపోయినాడు on hearing that word he grieved very much. n. A breaking out; a boil, blister, pustule, pock, బొబ్బ. A flake that has come off from a wall or anything else, ఎండిలేచినపెల్ల. Grief, దుఃఖము. పొక్కుడు pokkuḍu. n. Grief, అంగలార్పు. A flake, as of mortar, that has come off from a wall. పెల్ల పొక్కిలు or పొక్కిళ్లెత్తు to come off in flakes. పొక్కురోగము a chancre, పొక్కులు. పొక్కించు pokkinṭsu. To fret, blister, excoriate, scorch.

(p. 803) poga or పొప poga. [Tel.]n. Smoke, steam, vapour. ధూమము. 'ఊరుపుపొగల్' the vapour of sighs. Vasu. iv. 10. పొగతాగు to smoke a pipe or cheroot. 'అగరు సాంబ్రాణిపొగలుపట్టి' Ila. i. 140. టీ ధూప మిచ్చి. పొగకన్ను poga-kannu. n. Siva's eye from which fire issued. పొగకర్ర poga-karra. n. A sunbeam. Lit: a stick of smoke, because a beam has that appearance if it falls amid smoke. పొగగూడు poga-gūḍu. n. A chimney. పొగచు, పొగుచు or పొగయించు pogaṭsu. To cause to smoke, పొగయజేయు. To fry, to season with spices. ఇగురబెట్టు, తిరుగబోతబెట్టు, సాతాళించు. 'కలమాన్నము నొల్చిన పప్పునాలుగే న్పొగిచినకూరలున్.' A. i. 39. టీ పొగచినకూరలున్, ఇగురుకూరలును. పొగచుట్ట poga-ṭsūṭṭa. n.
