(p. 3) aṅkuramu ankuramu. [Skt.] n. A germ, a sprout, a bud. మొలక. నఖాంకురములు nail-marks, ప్రేమాంకురము the germ of love. నంశాంకురము నిలిచేలాగు దత్తుచేసికొనెను he adopted a son to preserve the stem of his family. ఆయనకు అంకురములేనందున as he left no heir.

(p. 71) abhilaṣiñcu abhi-lashinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To desire, wish. కోరు, అభిలాష n. Desire. wish, inclination. ఇచ్ఛ, కోరిక, ఆశ, అభిలాషకలవాడై being inclined.వానికి అభిలాషలేనందున as he was disinclined. అభిలాషి n. He who loves. కోరిక గలవాడు, ఇచ్చగలవాడు, ధర్మాభిలాషి he who loves justice.

(p. 101) asandarbhamu a-sandarbhamu. [Skt.] n. Incongruity, inconvenience, unseasonableness. అసంగతము, అసమయము. అతడు లేనందున అట్లు చేయడానకు అసందర్భమైనది his absence prevented my doing so. అసందర్భము adj. Unconnected, inconvenient, unseasonable. అసమయమైన.

(p. 1143) vasati vasati. [Skt. from వస్ to dwell.] n. A house, dwelling. ఇల్లు. Convenience. commodiousness, comfort. హాయి, సౌఖ్యము, అనుకూలము. Night, రాత్రి. Also, a pension, an allowance of money, భరణము. వసతి దారుడు a pensioner, a holder of an allowance of rent-free land. A proprietor of land, a landholder. అక్కడ నీళ్లవసతిలేనందున as good water is not easily procurable there. ఆ యిల్లు నిండా వసతిగాలేదు the house is not very convenient. వారికి ఆ గ్రామములో వసతులు ఏర్పరిచినాడు, లేక, ఇచ్చినాడు he granted them a living in that village. వసతిగానుండే vasati-gā-n-unḍē. adj. Convenient, commodious. హాయిగానుండే. అక్కడ నీకు వసతిగా నుంటే దిగు if you find a suitable spot you may halt or put up there.

(p. 1260) śōṣa ṣōsha. [Skt.] n. Drying up, ఎండడము. Fainting, faintness. ఆహారములేనందున గాని రోగముచేతగాని వచ్చేసొక్కు. వట్టి కంఠశోషగాని వేరు లేదు this is mere waste of breath. శోషణము ṣ&omacr ;shaṇamu. n. Drying up, ఎండడము శోషము ṣōshamu. n. Drying, dryness. Fainting, శోషిల్లుట. Pulmonary consumption. Intumescence, swelling. క్షయరోగము, వాపురోగము శోషించు, శోషిల్లు or శోషిలు ṣōshinṭsu. v. n. To be dried up, to become dry, lean, thin, poor. ఎండిపోవు, శుష్కించు, To faint, ఆహారము లేనందువల్ల గాని రోగము చేతగాని మూర్ఛపోవు. శోషింప జేయు ṣōshimpa-jēyu. v. a. To cause to dry up, ఎండజేయు.
