(p. 2) aṅkavaṅka anka-vanka. [Tel.] n. Softness, pliability, submissiveness. ఆపె అంకవంకలకు రాదు She is stubborn.

(p. 3) aṅkuriñcu ankurinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To sprout, break forth, emanate, rise as a thought. పెదవిమీదలేనగవంకురింప with a smile on the lips.

(p. 80) arāḷamu arāḷamu. [Skt.] adj. Bent, curved, crooked. కుటిలమైన, వంకరయైన. 'అరాళంబులైన కుంతలజాలంబులును.' R. v. 297.

(p. 125) ālu ālu. [Tel.] n. A woman, a wife. (Genitive ఆలి. Pl. ఆండ్రు.) ఆలుమగడు man and wife, a married pair. ఆలివంకవారు a wife's kinsfolk. ఆలిసైదోడు a wife's brother or sister. ఇల్లాలు the housewife.

(p. 198) ēdu or ఏదువంది ēdu. [Tel.] n. A procupine. ముండ్లపంది. One species is called కోడియేదు but in the south it is called ఒంటరికాడు. HD. i. 512. ఏదుపెరికినట్లు or ఏదుపంది ముండ్లు తీసినట్లు like pulling out the porcupines quills. ఏదువాసన a disgusting smell like that of a porcupine. cf. 'It stinks like a badger.' ఏదుకర్రలవంకెలు (H. iv. 159.) a sort of grain. ఏదుగడ్డి ēdu-gaḍḍi. n. Andropagon contortus, or the Spear grass. (Watts.) ఏదువేట ēdu-vēṭa. n. A kind of chase. వేటలో నొక భేదము.

A whole day and night అహోరాత్రము. ఒక ఓరను ఉంటిమి we stood on one side. ఓరగా sidelong, sideways. తలుపోరగా చేసెor ఓరవాకిలి చేసినది she opened the door a little, or, set it a jar. ఓరబోయి becoming crooked వంకరపోయి. BD. vi. ఓరచూపు ōra-ṭsūpu. n. A sidelong glance. బెళుకుటోర యొయారపు చూపు leeringly. ఓరంతపొద్దు ōranta-poddu. (ఓర+అంత+ప్రొద్దు) the livelong day, all day long, దినమంతయు, ఆసాయము. Also, a little రవంత, ఇసుమంత. 'ఉప్పులేకుండన నోరంతప్రొద్దు చప్పిడితాగిన సాగునే కాళ్లు? రాలేకొదుగబడి రాకయున్నాడు.' Pal. 316.

Camphor. పచ్చకర్పూరము crude camphor. రసకర్పూరము calomel. కర్పూరనూనె camphor oil. కర్పూర అరిటిపండు a fragrant kind of plantain. కర్పూరవంకాయ a kind of small brinjal. కర్పూరబెండ a certain vegetable. కర్పూరవల్లి karpūra-valli. See under ఓనము. కర్పూరశిలాజతు karpūra-ṣilā-jatu. n. A foliated crystallized gypsum, the powder of which, like white alabaster, is used in the preparation of stucco and as a medicine for ulcers. (p. 304) kūru kūru. [Tel.] v. n. To come on, as sleep, or thirst. కలుగు. To collect, as sand in a drain. చేకూరు to accrue or be gained, to happen (as fear) ప్రాప్తమగు, సంభవించు. v. a. To fill, to stuff. To load (a gun), to fill or collect. కూరువ or కూర్వ kūruva. n. The ribs of a ship or boat. Also in carpentry, a bent piece of wood. ఓడకూర్పునకువేసే వంకర కొయ్య.

(p. 310) kēraḍamu kēraḍamu. [Tel.] n. Indifference. ఉపేక్ష. Derision తిరస్కారము, ఎత్తిపొడుపుమాట, తిరస్కారపుమాట, వంకరమాట. 'కిలకిల నవ్వుచు కేరడమాడి.' Abhim. 216. కేరడించు kēraḍinṭsu. v. t. To deride. పరిహాసము చేయు.
