(p. 47) adhōmukhamu adhō-mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The face turned downwards: a downcast countenance. కిందికి వంచుకొని యుండే మొగము. అధోముఖముగా adv. With the face turned downwards, with a downcast countenance; headlong. తలవంచుకొని, తలక్రిందుగా. దివిటీని అధో ముఖముగా పట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flame downwards. అధోముఖుడు [Skt.] n. He who is downcast. ashamed or crest fallen. అతడు అధోముఖుడై ఉండెను he hung his head.

(p. 515) tala tala [Tel.] n. The head. శిరస్సు. The hair on the head. తలవెండ్రుకలు. The top కొన. The front ముందుభాగము. Height ఎత్తు. Whole మొత్తము. An occasion, a time సమయము, ఎడ. Telugu books were usually written on palm-leaves connected by a cord running through: and to tear out a leaf or rescind a bond, the top is torn. Hence తలచించిన denotes Rescinded. తలతో నడిచి వస్తున్నాను I will come even though I walk on my head. తలకొవ్విన tala-kovvina. adj. Fat-headed, proud, silly. ఇంతపనిచేస్తే వారిలో ఎట్లు తలయెత్తవచ్చును if he did this how could he shew his face among them? తలతో చెల్లించెను he paid for it with his head, it cost him his life. తలకుఎక్కేపని a perilous undertaking. తలకు ఎక్కినది it got into his head, he is intoxicated. తలకొట్టివేయు to decapitate or behead. తల (for తలను) మోయు to carry on the head. శిరసావహించు. BD. v. 309. ఒకతల on the one hand. తలకట్టు tala-kaṭṭu. n. The crest, tire, top, head-dress. పోగా. Chief ముఖ్యము. The head or leader. To be wilful, stubborn, headstrong. hotheaded, or giddy. మదించు. తలకోల tala-kōla. n. A noose, on a staff (కోల) to hold the head of a mischievous cow. తలగడ or తలగడ or తల్గడ talagaḍa. n. (p. 890) buḍibuḍi buḍi-buḍi. [Tel. anuk.] adj. Easy, gentle. Trifling, petty, అల్పము, బుడిబుడినడ a gentle pace. బుడిబుడిమాటలు muttered words. బుడిబుడికన్నీరు trickling tears. బుడిబుడియేడ్పు whimpering. బుడిబుడివేల్పులు petty gods. 'ద్వి హరినణంచుటయొ బ్రహ్మాది దేవతల, బొరిమార్చుటయొ బుడిబుడివేలుపులను, వంచుట చోద్యమే.' BD. iv. 648. n. Haste, hurry, flurry. తొట్రుపాటు. బుడుపడు buḍi-paḍu. v. n. (p. 985) miḍuku miḍuku. [Tel.] v. n. To live, బ్రతుకు. To be insolent, త్రుళ్లు. To move, చలించు, కదలు. To wander, roam, move about, సంచరించు. To grieve, mourn, or lament. దుఃఖపడు. To dry. ఎండు. 'అడిగిన జీతంబియ్యని మిడిమేలపుదొరనుగొలిచి మిడుకుటంకంటెన్. 'Sumati Satakam. n. Life, జీవము. మిడుకుమిడుకను to grieve, పరితపించు. మిడుకుమాలగా miḍuku-māla-gā. n. adv. (p. 1021) meṭṭu meṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. &n. To step, walk, tread. అడుగుపెట్టు, నడుచు, త్రొక్కు. 'మెల్ల మెల్లన మెట్టుచుదొలగి అల్లనల్లనతలుపులండకు జేరి.' BD iv. 1523. To tread on, to trample on. To kick, to thrust with the foot. To wear, as sandals. తొక్కు, కాలితోతన్ను, పాదుకలు వేసికొను. 'ఏయేతీర్థములందు గ్రుంకిడితి రేయేద్వీపముల్ మెట్టినారు.' Swa. i. 26. 'నీళ్లమునుగనేల జలధిమెట్టగనేల మొనసివేల్పులకును మ్రొక్కనేల.' Vēma. iii. 259. n. Treading, త్రొక్కుట. A step of a ladder or stair, సోపానము. A step, grade, degree, rank. A mount a hill, తిప్ప, కొండ. 'మింటన్ మ్రోసినమ్రోత తాలిమిని లో మెట్టింపమున్నీపునా యింటన్ బుట్టెదవంచుకంసుడుతొడిన్ హింసించె నీయన్నలన్.' B. X. 102. మెట్టిక meṭṭika. n. A step , మెట్టు, సోపానము. See also మెటిక. మెట్టిమల్లాడు meṭṭi-mall-āḍu. v. a. To trample down or all over, to ruin, హతముచేయు, ధ్వంసముచేయు. 'కర్మంబుల కట్టడలకులోనుగాక మాయలనుమెట్టి మల్లాడి నిర్మలలింగసేవ నెట్టిభక్తిఘటించు.' L. xvi. 229. మెట్టుకు meṭṭu-ku. adv. On the whole, altogether. In fact, in all, at the most, at least, at any rate. In short, at the best or worst, once for all, finally, at last, in the end, after all, withal, yet still. తుదకు. మెట్టుకుపోయినాడు of course he is gone. మెట్టిల్లు (మెట్టిన + ఇల్లు) the mother-in-law's house, ఆడుదాని అత్తగారిల్లు. మెట్టుబ్రాలు sacred rice, తలబ్రాలు.

(p. 1047) mōra mōra. [Tel.] n. The projecting face of animals. Phiz, a word of contempt for face, మూతి. (నిందయందు) మనుష్యముఖము. మోరచ్చుచెప్పులు shoes put on the wrong way so as to deceive those who trace the wearer. చనుమోరలు the tips of the breasts. కటుమోరలు the cheek bones.
