(p. 75) amānudastu amānu-dastụ. [H.] n. A pestle and mortar for pounding betelnut. వక్కాకు కొట్టే రోలు రోకలి.

(p. 520) tāmbūlamu tāmbūlamu. [Skt.] n. The betel-leaf and areca nut formed into a parcel, ready for use. వక్కాకు. This is also a phrase for a douceur. తాంబూలము పుచ్చుకొను to take betel (which is generally offered ceremoniously to a stranger as a mark of respect.) To take an oath: (because such a ceremony is gone through when an oath or solemn engagement is taken.) The tambulamu likewise is given as the final or termination of every meal, every transaction and every religious rite. Thus తాంబూలమిచ్చు and తాంబూలముపుచ్చుకొను is to ratify most solemnly, as a betrothal; to swear an oath. తాంబూలవల్లి or తాంబూలి the betel vine.

(p. 1119) vakkāku or వక్కలాకులు vakk-āku. [Tel. వక్క+ఆకు.] n. Betel nut, i.e., betel and nut. తాంబూలము, ఆకువక్క.

(p. 1123) vaṭra or వట్రన vaṭra. [from Skt. వర్తులము.] n. Roundness. నర్తులము, గుండ్రన. వట్ర. వట్రని or వట్రముగానుండే adj. Round. గుండ్రని. వట్రము vaṭramu. adj. Short, హ్రస్వము. n. A bag in which betel and nut are kept. వక్కాకుతిత్తి. వట్టపడు vaṭrapaḍu. v. n. To become less, to be diminished, decreased, or lessened, తగ్గు. వట్రపెట్టు vaṭra-peṭṭu. v. a. To diminish, decrease, make less, తక్కువపరుచు. తగ్గించు. వట్రించు, వట్రిల్లు or వట్రిలు vaṭrinṭsu. v. n. To make round, or cut round. గుండ్రనగాచేయు. To turn, తిరుగు. To turn back, పరాఙ్ముఖమగు. To happen, occur, కలుగు, వచ్చు. సంభవించు. To be agreeable or pleasant. ఒప్పు. 'నగుబాటు వట్రిల్లెనాతులలోన.' BD. v. 103. వట్రువ or వట్రువు vaṭruva. adj. Round, circular. బటువైన. గుండ్రని. n. Roundness, గుండ్రము. వర్తులము. వట్రువసుడి vaṭruva-suḍi. n. Lit: 'The round twirl,' i.e., the letter ఎ the secondary form of ఋ.
