(p. 738) pādamu pādamu. [Skt.] n. A foot. అడుగు. A root, వేరు. A quarter, పాతిక. A foot or line of verse being a quarter of a stanza. పద్యములో నాలుగవభాగము. A ray of light, కిరణము. A small hill at the foot of a mountain. కొండదరి దిబ్బ. తమ పాదాలనే నమ్మివచ్చినాను I came in reliance on your honour as my protector. This is a mere conversational compliment, like 'I kiss your hands' in Spanish. పాదతీర్థము water made holy by washing a saint's feet. పాదపద్మములు lotus-like feet. పాదలాక్ష red paint for the feet of women, పారాణి. తమపాదాలసముఖానకు నా కుమారుణ్ని తెచ్చి అప్పగిస్తున్నాను permit me to introduce my son to your honour's protection. వాడు తండ్రిపాదాలమీద పడెను he fell on his father's feet. తమపాదాలవద్ద before your honour, in your presence. తమపాదాల శరణుచొచ్చినాను I throw myself on your goodness. పాదచారి pāda-chāri. n. A foot passenger. కాలిబంటు. One who goes walking, నడచి పోవువాడు. పాదజుడు pādajuḍu. n. A Sudra, because born from the feet of Brahma. పాదత్రాణము pāda-trāṇamu. n. A shoe or boot. పైజారు. పాదపము pādapamu. n. A tree. పాదపూర్ణము pāda-pūrṇamu. n. An unnecessary word inserted in verse, to fill up the measure, such as in Sanskrit the words తు, హి, చ, స్మ, హి, వై, or, in Telugu poetry the words, ఒగి, తగ, మరి, ఇల, మహి , or verbs, చెలగు, ఒప్పు, &c. పాదరసము pāda-rasamu. n. Quick-silver, mercury. రసము. పాదలి pādali. n. A base or low man, అధముడు. 'పాపపు విప్రుని పనికిగామున్ను, తాపికాడైన పాదలిమందడీడు.' HD. iii. 110.

(p. 849) priyamu priyamu. [Skt.] adj. Dear, beloved, desired. ఇష్టమైన. Dear or high, in price. ప్రియవచనములు చెప్పి దాన్ని తీసికొని వచ్చినాను by using fair words I brought her. n. Love. desire, affection, friendship, ప్రేమ. Joy, సంతోషము. ప్రియములాడు to be kind, to speak kindly. కరణాలకు సలాములు కాపులకు ప్రియము చెప్పవలెను give my respects to the clerks and kind regard to the farmers; (as in English give my love to, &c.) ప్రియకము priya-kamu. n. A tree called Nauclea cadamba. కదంబవృక్షము. ప్రియత priyata. n. Friendship, love, స్నేహము, ప్రేమ. ప్రియపడు or ప్రియంపడు priya-paḍu. v. n. To like, to be pleased. ఇష్టపడు. ప్రియవాది or ప్రియంపదుడు priya-vādi. n. A fair speaker, one who speaks what is pleasing, a flatterer. హితమును చెప్పేవాడు, ఇచ్చకము లాడువాడు. ప్రియాళువు priyāḷuvu. n. A tree called మొరలిచెట్టు. ప్రియుడు priyuḍu. n. A lover, a husband, a friend. ఇష్టమైనవాడు, పెనిమిటి. ప్రియ priya. n. A beloved woman. ప్రియురాలు.

(p. 972) mātramu mātramu. [Skt.] n. Quantity, measure, proportion, computation, whether by number, rate, weight, extent, or capacity. పరిమాణము. వాడు అట్లు చెప్పిన మాత్రమున or మాత్రాన as soon as he said so. ఆమాత్రపు దేవళము so large a temple. ఆ గ్రంథము ఉండే మాత్రపువాడు a man likely to have that book. బకమాత్రపుమనిషి a sort of fellow, not much of a man. ఏమాత్రము or ఎంతమాత్రము how much, how far, to what amount, in what degree. ఆమాత్రము so far. నాకు తెలిసిన మాత్రము as far as I know. ఎంతమాత్రముకాదు far from it, by no means, not in the least. అది యేమాత్రము న్యాయముకాదు it is anything but right. ఎంతమాత్రము హేతువులేదు there is not the smallest reason. మనుష్యమాత్రులకు అలవి కాదు it is impossible for mortals. adj. & adv. Only, merely, alone, simply, exclusively. నేను మాత్రము వచ్చినాను I alone came.
