(p. 153) uḍumu uḍumu. [Tel.] n. The iguana గోధ; గోధిక. ఉడుపపిల్ల the young iguana. ఉడుము పోయినా చెయ్యి వదిలించుకొని రావలెను. if you catch an iguana, you are lucky if you get your hand off it.

(p. 185) eḍaliñcu or ఎడలుచు eḍalinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To separate, or unravel. To do away with. To remove, clear, loosen. To drive away వెడలించు, వదిలించు. ఎడలు eḍalu. v. n. To go, depart. వెడలు. To break వికలమగు, విచ్ఛిన్నమగు. To be thrown away విసర్జించు.

(p. 500) takku takku. [Tel.] v. n. To miss, to fail. తప్పు. అట్లుచేయింపతక్కితేని if I fail to effect this v. a. To leave, let go, loose. విసర్జించు, వదిలిపెట్టు. A. iv. 258. n. Remainder residue. Also, jesting: టక్కు, తక్కు పిక్కు దొంగతనము petty theft. adj. Other ఇతరము. తక్కుడు n. Remaining over. తక్కుట.

(p. 631) naḍumu naḍumu. [Tel.] n. The middle, the waist, or loins. కాను. The middle portion మధ్యబాగము. నడుముకట్టుకొను naḍumu-kaṭṭu-konu. v. n. To undertake, to make oneself ready. To gird up the loins, to be ready. సిద్ధపడు. To take a vow of chastity, నడుమంతరము or నడుమంత్రము naḍu-mantaramu. (నడుము+అంతరము.) adj. Extraordinary, unprecedented, unthought of, as a windfall. n. The waist, కొను. An interval, మధ్యకాలము. adj. Middling, neither here nor there. నడమంతరపేరు an alias. నడమంతరపు ఐశ్వర్యమునకును వరము మీది పుండునకును చురుకు అధికము those who have recently become rich and an ulcer on a nerve give great trouble. నడమంతరముగా nada-mantaramu-gā. adv. Unexpectedly. నడుచొచ్చు naḍu-ṭsoṭsṭsu. v. n. To come in the middle, to interpose, నడుమ ప్రవేశించు. నడుదింపు naḍu-dimpu. n. The flesh in the loins. మాంసవిశేషము. నడుములో చెక్కు to pocket, because they stick a handkerchief, &c., in at the girdle. నడుముపడిన gone in the loins, broken down, debilitated. నడుము వదిలినది there was an emission of semen. నడుమ or నడమ naḍuma. adj. Middle, centrical. నడుమును. adj. and postp. In the middle, meanwhile,. through, between. ఈ నడుమ presently: (also) lately. ఆ నడుమ meantime. నడమ వచ్చినారు they came between or interposed; they came as messengers or representatives. నడుమ వచ్చినవానికి ఇంత అధికారమా is an interloper to presume thus? నడుమ మాట్లాడు to interrupt one while speaking: or to intercede, to mediate. నడాన or నడుమను nadāna. adv. In the middle; midway.

(p. 1127) vadalu or వదులు vadaḷu. [Tel.] v. n. To be loosened, to be slackened or untied; to cease, depart, disappear. సడలు, ఊడు, వీడు. జ్వరము వదలిపోయినది the fever went off. నా గ్రహచారము వదిలే కాలమువచ్చినది the time has arrived for my ill-luck to come to an end. ఆ కర్మము వదిలిపోయినది that trouble is now over. v. a. To loosen, let go, quit, renounce, abjure, give up, abstain from. విడిచిపెట్టు, విడుచు, మానుకొను. The act of leaving, విడుపు. వదలించు, వదిలించు or వదల్చు vadalinṭsu. v. a. To loosen, slacken, release, get rid of. విడిపించు, సళ్లించు, పోగొట్టు, వారి గర్వమును వదిలించినాడు he crushed their pride. వదలివేయు or వదలుకొను vadali-vēyu. v. a. To abandon or leave, to desist from, get rid of, abstain from, మానుకొను, త్యజించు.

(p. 1158) vālika vālika. [Tel. from వాలు.] adj. Long. నీడుపైన. దీర్ఘమైన. 'నిడువాలికచూపు.' Vasu. iii. 59. టీ మిక్కిలి సోగయైనచూపు. Sharp, వాడియైన. 'వాలిక యమ్ములు.' భార. భీష్మ. i. [Skt.] n. A pit in the roof of the mouth. అంగిటిగుంట. వాలికనడ vālika-naḍa. n. A certain pace in horses. అశ్వగమనభేదము. 'ఇట్లిచ్చియనిపి పోడియము జంగనడయువాలికనడయునుం గలుగువారువంబు నదలించినాగెవదిలిరాగననం గదలించితోలిన.' G. viii. 74.

(p. 1171) viḍu viḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To separate, become loose, వీడు. To fall asunder, తనకుతానేవదలు, వీడిపోవు, విరిసిపోవు. 'నీళ్లమీదబుగ్గ నిలిచిన యప్పుడు తళ్లువేగవచ్చితాకుగాక, వడెడుకుండకింత విభ్రాంతిపడుదురు.' Vēma. 70. v. a. To relinquish, leave, quit, abandon, give up, loosen, untie, undo, let go, release, separate, త్యజించు, మానుకొను, వదలు, విచ్చు. విప్పు, వీడ్చు, విడుగడ or విడుగర viḍu-gaḍa. n. Release, liberation. విడుదల, విమోచనము. 'ఉర్రిద్రెవ్వగొరికి యిప్పుడ వెరవారగనేనునీకు విడగరనేయం దొరకొనుట నీదుభాగ్యం బరితత్వము దొరగిమైత్రియలవరపు మదిన్.' M. XII. iii. 207. 'అన్యదేశ్యునధర్మువిడుము.' A. iv. 257. విడుగు viḍugu. v. n. To blow or expand, as a flower, వికసించు. 'ముడిగెతొగలడగెరిక్కలు విడిగె పయోజమ్ములుడిగెవెన్నెల.' S. I. 164. విడదొక్కు or విడద్రొక్కు viḍa-dokku. v. a. To allot, set aside, grant, as land. విడిచు ఇచ్చు. ఆయూరికింద నాయూరి పొలములో కొంతభూమి విడదొక్కినారు they allotted some land from one village to that village. విడనాడు viḍa-n-āḍu. v. a. To cast off, desert, quit, relinquish, divorce. విడుచు, విడిచిపెట్టు, వదులు. 'కూళగూళమెచ్చు గుణవంతు విడనాడి.' Vēma. 1752. విడబడు or విడవడు viḍa-baḍu. v. n. To escape, get free, break loose, వీడు, విచ్చలవిడియగు, కట్టువదిలించుకొని నిరంకుశముగానుండు, తెగనుండి వేరుపడు. నిర్భందమునుండి తొలగు. To slip, ౛ోరు.' అతని మహోద్దండగజము, తన్ను దామరచి మదగ్రస్తయగుచు. కడదిమావంతుని బడఝూళిచేసి విడివడిదండెల్ల విరియ దోలుచును.' B. D. iv. 352. అది విడివడిమాట్లాడినది she shook off all shame and spoke.
